History: 
The process of creating an Inugami is a horrific and forbidden one. It requires one to bury a dog alive, with only it's head sticking up above the ground, and to place a bowl of food just beyond it's reach. The dog is then starved to death. It's soul is bound to this world, and summoned as a vengeful spirit of rage. Should the conjurer not be able to bind this spirit to his will the newly created Inugami will happily rip him to shreds. Unfortunately the Onmyodo responsible for Kitten's creation was a dangerous man indeed, and easily enslaved Kitten's mind and will to him. The Inugami was then used as a weapon, ripping apart any who dared cross this man, and performing several assassination missions in his name. Eventually, however, this Onmyoudo was confronted by another, who managed to destroy the bindings on Kitten, and thereby cause him to turn on his erstwhile master.

Usually an Inugami would go on a rampage, killing indiscriminately until laid to rest or destroyed. But when Kitten turned to slay the one who had freen him, he found himself unable to do so. The mere recognition that he could not bring himself to kill this person blunted his bloodlust, and he wandered the world for many years as he slowly grew in understanding. With years having granted him wisdom and intelligence he has found his way to Blakley's Institute where he seeks to learn how to function in human culture, so that he might live among them. Or at the very least to learn to better control his bloodlust. Although he is not a killer, not any more, it would be a bad idea to rile him up.
