They have been and are still (although less so now due to dwindling number and influence) revered in a religious manner, being seen in times past as the saviours and unitors of the realms against Alithe.

Alithe isn't a bad guy, she just says "fuck your rules" to Raziel on a daily basis. ;n;

Hence I daresay that Alithe would also have a bit of a cult following. To bring together that many warring factions and races under unifying laws and peace took some seriously brutal law/law enforcement leading to a fair amount of resentment from many against Raziel and the Nephilim (Martial law on many occasions sort of thing). It's not unknown in darker times for the Nephilim to take over rule from the council (Working on that right now, most likely representatives from each of the neutral races forming a senate like structure with a Duke figurehead). Soooo, there would be people that would see Alithe as a freedom from a shackled existence.

"Fuck your rules, LAWS OF NATURE!"

-All I have for my character sheet

I haven't really begun yet, but thus far my character is a magic-user who keeps strongly to laws of morality, but has no respect for nature or other "natural" laws. Elves would hate him.

@Jeyma Elves, Centaur, Elementals (except fire who'll be your bff), Fae, Treants...

You're gonna have a really unpopular character.

@Jeyma

And I thought my chars were going to be disliked haha.

OH. SIDENOTE.

Seeing as this is really an exercise in world building and ideally will end up being a multi-instanced rp advancing over time. People are more than welcome to have multiple characters. Ideally I'd like some people to step up for part time roles within the council (once I've fleshed it out) which would only really be characters used here and there to advance worldwide plot events and the like.

@Emuxe

So, what are your rules on magic?

Particularly, magic focused on changing physical shape and attributes: not shapeshifting into other species, per-say, but permanently growing new body parts or altering one's biological makeup over a long period of time with lots of focus.

Well for one, I'd say that permanently changing your form would be a slow process over a long time. Not only that but it would limit exploration into other fields of magic due to the energy needed for the upkeep of your changing body. Going along with this, food intake would have to equal that of the new growth and possibly even some sort of draught/potion to sustain the change without your body rejecting it? Perhaps drunk every day/week something like that?

Thoughts, Emuxe?

Edit: Not to mention the magics would be advanced, may even require either darker knowledge from Alithe's lands or a trip to the Institute?

I second this.

@SanaChan I love them, especially Sybil! They're both accepted!

I agree with everything you said, actually, and I was planning on already going that way :D

My character will use no other form of magic, aside from an occasional healing spell.

The process will take weeks or months for every augmentation, and it will cause bouts of pain during periods of bone-growth (because if you're going to change your form, you have to change your bones as well: growing an arm means growing arm bones, growing a finger means growing finger joints). The pain will be treated through light healing magic and potions, though he has no knowledge of alchemy himself: he buys the potions from local shops.

I can perhaps squeeze something in about my character having learned it from some creepy wizard or Revenant in Alithe's lands , but I'd rather them not actually be a follower of any religion/faction at the start.

@Jeyma He could have learned it from a Revenant wizard, 'cause they're free to talk to and do what they want.

So the idea of that form of magic is okay, then?

I want to know for absolutely sure before I start writing the C.S., so I don't have to go back and change it.

While I'm on the subject, they'll probably eat just an unholy amount of food to keep up with the energy of all those extra body parts. Like, just everything in sight: it's getting eaten. Chefs beware.

The biggest glutton in the universe.

Just don't eat Sophia's food 'cause you'll die. She's the worst cook.
