She spent a few minutes packing all her things and the things left over by her uncle and carried them from her old room to her new setting each in a position that fitted its potential for need and it broke her heart that she placed the totalstation in a position of least. Swiss optics and japanese electronics it was strangely called a Lietz as if ignoring its asian origins. It was only a machine but to her it was so much more; to Trinity Twobears it was a tool that allowed her to understand the world around her, to plan alterations, define floodplains, to build large structures that could protect the people inside them and stand the test of time. So for how long she couldn’t say she knelt there alone in her new room determined to not let such dreams die with her and while she was at it she decided that she had to save all the other information out there in the world. She almost laughed when she was trying to figure out what she was going to build her library out of when she remembered the train yards which she were sure to still be there filled with freight cars, containers and tanks of fuel a chemicals. Sure they might have suffered some in the disaster but probility said somewhere near was a train yard filled with containers of the past world. Next were the truck marshalling yards and they contained things that the colony needed such as the trailers themselves if they were empty. She hopped out of her room and headed off for once with a purpose and walked about 4 miles from the bunker and saw them laying in a small lot beside a truck stop she’d stopped at with her Uncle when they came to the area five months before the disaster; 40 foot long high top shipping containers. There once were about 75 here that could have been used but it looked as if 27 of them had fallen victim to the same tornado that had left the truckstop and concrete slab but 48 was more than enough. It took her about 15 minutes to find the flat delivery trailer that the business used to deliver them to customers who used them as storage containers rather than build and the most wonderful of all was that the containers could be stacked and locked together forming and highly resistant structure that could weather hurricanes at sea. Her biggest trouble would be finding a suitable set down position near the bunker but she could see two three story stacks on either side of the bunker entrance. {Oh well I can at least take one of these back and turn it into a smoke house soon we can put up meat.} she said to herself as she worked a 4 ton shipping container balanced above her like an ant carrying a grasshopper back to the hill. She thought that she’d have to stop along the way to rest her arms but that proved not to be the case her only reason to set it down was two large pigs which being the stubborn brutes they were used to being around her seemed to invite her to kill them which she did in so strange a manner that she had to laugh as she grabbed the animal by the snout and stepped beside each saying Judo Chop even though as far as she knew there was no such move and she had no skill in any martial arts to say. Their necks were broken by the sweet dark haired girl who was soon cutting off their testicles first as she’d been taught by the men in her family then she expertly cleaned the two beast during which time she made a local pack of wild dogs learn to fear her. She put the two pigs into the container even leaving the wild dogs the entrails which she was sure all the city folk might stick their noses up at and because she couldn’t stand them either. Then she picked up her burden got it balanced on her hands above her head and walked off down the road singing.
