Until recently you were just a run of the mill kid, or maybe you were a troubled teen, or even perhaps a college age young adult just trying to live your life, but not anymore. Now you're something else...something different; you are gifted.

This story will be set in the X-Men fandom, but honestly will be more of an AU than anything else. My intention is to set this RP in a world where mutants are still relatively unknown to the masses, where the "gifted" are feared and looked down upon by society, and where it would be detrimental for the public to find out the identities of those that are known about. The idea is this: Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters has been a haven for mutants for over a decade now, but one school can only do so much in a world where there are new mutants popping up all the time. So, Charles Xavier has entrusted one of his good friends, Malcolm Ashford, to open a new school to help ensure more mutants find the help they need. We will be the first class of students at the Ashford Institute for the Gifted, and will live the lives of mutants in a world made for humans. We together will learn how to control our gifts, find out who we truly are, make friends (and enemies) along the way, and train to one day join the ranks of the X-Men.

I might be. I have a large number of characters that could fit here, and I might even make someone new. *wriggles* I have at least one that absolutely loathes her power, bu tI don't know if I wanna use her here right now. I'll see. <3 so yeah, *waves* count me as keeping an eye on this.

@ShieldsOfWarI had a teacher character for an Xmen RP a while back. Could you use a teacher, or do you just want students?

I've already established NPC's for the majority of the staff/instructors, but I don't have a problem with you creating/portraying a teacher if that's what you're dead set on :).

@ShieldsOfWarWell, he's a single father with a young daughter (7 or 8) that's also a mutant, so it's kind of two characters.

The idea is that he didn't tell his wife he was a mutant, and when their daughter started getting her chameleon powers at the age of 6 she left him over it. I figured that would fit this story well.

@TheUnknowable That's a really interesting duo that I think would be a great addition to the cast.

Here's a link to the OOC that I put up, it has some information on the current instructors that you can kind of go off of so that you don't create a character that already covers one of their roles. If you were wanting your character to instruct an area already covered by one of these NPC's let me know and we can figure something out.

@ShieldsOfWarThe powers he had in the last one (microscopic vision, micro-telekinesis) made him fit a role as a chemistry and physics professor. He could also be biology if you want.

I could make him any type of professor you want, though, and just change his powers.

@TheUnknowable I also think that it will be interesting to see how an 8 year old child is going to handle living in a massive mansion with really no one her age around :). I imagine it can get lonely at times and that gives her a lot of opportunity to get herself into all types of shenanigans lol.
