When Tekkan approached Mike, a mysterious energy seemed to flow from Mike's deck and into Tekkan's. Mike, too annoyed to notice this, backed away from Tekkan. He grabbed what was left of his guitar and ran away, shouting what could only be assumed to be curse words.

"CONCLUSION: UNIMPRESSED!" the machine replied to Fyodor's turn, even though he seemed to be the one who was losing. "DRAW. ENTER STANDBY. I WILL ACTIVATE THE EFFECT OF TWIN TWISTERS FROM MY HAND. BY DISCARDING ONE CARD, I AM ABLE TO DESTROY TWO SPELL OR TRAP CARDS ON THE FIELD. I DISCARD DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-FOUR FROM MY HAND IN ORDER TO DESTROY MY DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-FIVE IN MY PENDULUM ZONE AND YOUR ZOMBIE WORLD. DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-FIVE ACTIVATES. WHEN IT IS DESTROOOOOYED, I AM ALLOWED TO SPECIAL SUMMON ONE DESKBOT FROM MY GRAVEYARD. RETURN TO ME, DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-TWO." a raging whirlwind swept across the dueling field, carrying away one card from Professor Furiko's "hand" and two off the field, the scenery quickly returning back to the school they were in.

"DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-TWO ACTIVATES. I CAN ADD ONE CARD FROM THE DECK TO MY HAND. I CHOOSE DESKBOT ZERO-ONE ZERO. ENTER MAIN PHASE. OBSERVATION. YOU APPEAR TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE CORNERED ME. YOU ARE MISTAKEN. ENTER MAIN PHASE. DESKBOT ZERO-ZERO-EIGHT IS SET IN THE PENDULUM ZONE. PENDULUM MACHINE IS IN THE GRAVE. SWING, PENDULUM BETWEEN SPACE AND TIME. OVERSCALE PENDULUM SUMMON! COME FORTH, OH MASTER OF THE WORKPLACE. LEVEL TEN. DESKBOT ZERO-ONE-ZERO!" Alone, Deskbot 008 glowed, and from a gate opening in the heavens sprang forth a mighty machine wielding two computer monitors as shields in each hand. It screeched mightily at the Ghoulish Rider's Revived King and it seemed at that point that they needed to battle.

"DESKBOT ZERO-ONE-ZERO, ATTACK REVIVED KING HA DES. DESTROOOOOOOY"

Tekkan, not noticing Mike's refusal to accompany him, stopped within two feet of the (admittedly badass-looking) biker dude commanding the forces of the underworld: Zombies. His opponent, who was controlling small robots who resembled office tools, turned out to be a robot.

"Whoa...This is awesome...!" Still not noticing the boy with the (now-dirty) Pink Floyd shirt not being with him, the white-haired youth stood adjacent to the helmeted man and looked where his eyes should be. "Hey, you need some help? Two against one and we can scrap this hunk of junk even further!" He grinned and firmly gripped the biker's free hand. "Maybe you could even teach me your secret dark arts as a protege!" Tekkan continued to stare hopefully into the individual's helmet as he prepped his duel disk, unaware of the robot's ongoing attack.

The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell was getting closer to getting rid of this roadblock, so he could resume work as the Demonic Detective. Behind that helmet, Fyodor could smell the metaphorical scent of victory edging ever so closer. It was within his grasp now.

Well that was before Professor Furiko began to make his plays. The first of which was him destroying the wicked hellish landscape he crafted.

"OH COME ON I PREPARED THAT SCENERY TO LAST LONGER!" The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell howled up towards the heavens as he dramatically shook a fist. It was at that moment, when he noticed that some manner of delinquent, at least it surely wasn't a preppy, grabbed his fist. Just how long this one was here Konstantinovich did not know. Clearly they must've shown up during the performance of the monologues.

There was certainly an expression known between him and the Devil underneath the helmet of The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell's face as he ripped his hand out from Tekkan's grasp. He cocked his helmet to glance at the boy who wished to be a servant of the Servant of the Lord of the Flies.

"Wel--", the statement was interrupted as Deskbot 010 avenged its school supply brethren and destroyed the Revived King Ha Des. The solid vision shrapnel that used to be the flesh and bone of the Revived King knocked down The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell down. Surely there was an expression underneath The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as he took that attack that reduced him to 1550 Life Points; but that was between him and the Devil.

Quickly getting up, Fyodor glanced towards Tekkan and forcefully shoved in front of himself and closer towards Professor Furiko. He pointed at the automaton professor."That thing impedes my mission. SELL YOUR SOUL TO ME! SANCTIFY YOUR DEMONS! If you wish to learn a fraction of the seeds of darkness I can sow, you will make sure this machine does not continue to wage war on the Kingdom of the Damned and impede my work any further. Failure will not be tolerated if you follow the Path of Darkness."

Upon Tekkan's arrival, the machine turned its attention to him. "SENSORS INDICATE THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY PARTICIPATING IN THE NEW STUDENT OPENING CEREMONY BATTLE ROYALE. SHOULD YOU ENTER THIS DUEL, YOU WILL INCUR A PENALTY OF 2000 LIFE POINTS. SHOULD YOU LOSE, YOU WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT AND I WILL DISCIPLINE YOU BOTH. IF THESE ARE SACRIFICES YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE, BY ALL MEANS JOIN THE DUEL.

The machine turned its attention back to Fyodor. "I WILL END MY TURN."

The mini-mall attached to the cafeteria wasn't particularly busy that day. It appeared that a couple of students were having a duel, likely for the tournament that was going on, though it had passed just as quickly as it began.

The loser; a girl with long, black, wavy hair; turned her attention to Ayami, more specifically, her duel disk. "Hey girlfriend" she waved, using a bit more hip in her motions than the average person. "You look like you still good to fight. How 'bout you fight my friend here? He still doin' fine! And he beat me! Me! Can you believe that? But I understand if you ain't up to the challenge."

The boy, tall, skinny, lanky, and awkward, scratched his back shyly. "Hello" he introduced.

So it was his move now. The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell pondered for a brief moment about things brought up by Tekkan and Furiko. He quickly decided he had an itchy trigger finger.

"Now listen closely..." The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell solemnly said to Tekkan as he drew his next card.

Dramatic Pause.

"Here's a little lesson in trickery!" Fyodor declared as he began mosh dancing slamming first into Tekkan and then into the Solid Vision Mezuki, who just focused its attention on Deskbot 010. "Psst Defense Mode Mezuki." was the command delivered in a stage whisper, which the manhorse followed by crouching down and holding its axe in a defensive position symbolizing him entering Defense Mode. Fyodor returned to moshing, "This is going down in history!"

He gestured to Tekkan, "If you want to be a Villain Number One-" The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell pointed towards Furiko after a brief spin, "-You have to fight a hero on the run!"

Konstantinovich placed a card in his Spell and Trap Zone as throwing his hands to the sky, "Everliving Underworld Cannon!!" The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell had the earth rumble underneath his feet as the artillery weapon forged of bones rose up as Fyodor was perched upon it. Squatting upon it, The Ghoulish Rider looked down at the barrel itching for some soul ammunition.

"Time for lust! Time for lies! Time to kiss your life goodbye! This baby is powered by Soul Residue after a Zombie-type Monster is Special Summoned! And what do you know..."The Ghoulish Rider placed a card from his hand to the top of his deck to activate Plaguespreader Zombie's special effect. "I've got Plaguespreader Zombie in my Graveyard which means I could say, place a card from my hand to the top of my deck and since I did I can Special Summon him."

Plaguespreader Zombie emerged from an explosion of purple goop in Defense Mode. The ooze flowed upwards against gravity into the Everliving Underworld Cannon and charged it for the burst of damage since a Zombie Type Monster was Special Summon.

"Gwahahahahahahahahahah!" The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell cackled, "I AM NUMBER ONE! HEY!" He declared as the Everliving Underworld Cannon fired a spectral purple blast at Furiko for 800 points of damage.

After waving around trying to get people's attention for a while she gave up "Looks like everyone is busy... Lua-senpai how about you duel me? or you think we should look around a little more I do have this coin of mine we can use instead to decide" Rumi asked calling Lua Senpai not even sure if she is using it correctly also pulling out a beautiful looking old European coin out of her pocket "What you think? Flip a coin?" Rumi asked a second time almost seeming like she is begging to flip her favorite coin "Yes? No?"

(if Lua were to say yes she will flip the coin right away in response and the coin will land on her head by accident, I'll let you decide the result, Heads is dueling Lua and Tails is looking around)

"You can flip it if you want, but for now lets find someone to battle. Seeing your deck gives me an advantage so let's try to give you a little chance to get a real, fair battle. Does that sound alright?"

He asked nervously, not wanting to cheat her out of a good battle. Maybe when he or she changes the deck slightly then a good battle could ensue. But to cheat the girl, the freind, out of a win that would be notorious, he couldn't bare to do that. Her gripped his arm a bit nervously. When he looked up to see her response, worried she may be offended, he was surprised to see that the coin landed atop of her head. He stretched his best to see but it was buried in hair. With a sigh he chuckled at the humor and defeat. This was an odd character indeed.

"Well. Let's just say it was tails. Unless you really want to duel me"

He spoke, only to see her grimance. His hands moved towards her, hovering over in worry.

Tekkan's eyes beamed with glee as his new idol gave him his first order of business. "Yes, sir! I'll do anything for you, sir!" Then, catching earshot of the machine's dronings, he angrily snapped back at it for interrupting him and his new boss. "Yeah, yeah, CAN IT YOU BUCKET OF BOLTS! I'll do it anyway!" His disk finished booting up, and he observed the Hell Rider's next move.

"You've got this, boss! Show that tin can who's boss!" Standing about two feet away from Fyodor, he cheered on the mysterious man as the Life Points on his disk's display fell from 3700 to 1700. "I'll do my best on my turn once yours is finished! GO!!!"

"THAT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY." Professor Furiko noted. The solid vision dissipated, as it appeared that the Ghoulish Rider had won a duel. Professor Furiko rolled toward Tekkan. "YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE INTERRUPTED" he reached up to grab Tekkan's arm. A wire extended from the professor's body, plugging into a small port on Tekkan's duel disk. At that moment, his lifepoints were reset to 3700.

"CONCLUSION. DEFEAT." He stated at Fyodor, rolling around. "PERMISSION TO ASK QUESTIONS." Though it had admitted its defeat, the professor still seemed keen on interrogating the demonic detective.

The white-haired youth's eyes went dead and his jaw hung open in shock as the machine droned on again and reset his Life Points to how they were before. Did it actually just admit defeat before he could even do anything?

"Y-You...You...!" Tekkan gritted his teeth and curled his fists up into a ball; mere seconds after, he punched the professor in its robotic eye as hard as he could, infuriated that it would just concede like that. "YOU BUCKET OF BOLTS! HOW DARE YOU JUST UP AND SURRENDER LIKE THAT?!" Not stopping at just one punch, the youth continued to pummel the machine with its full strength, not considering the fact that breaking it would prevent Fyodor from asking it the questions he needed. "USELESS! USELESS! USELESS!"

As the Solid Vision began to dissipate into nothingness, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell (and now a Demonic Detective free to move on with his case) knew he was gonna have to jump. So as the Everliving Underworld Cannon was fading away and transforming into pixels, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell ran a few paces on top of it before jumping off. He flailed his arms a bit, as was movie style fashion, as the cannon rose up in such a large quantity one could've mistaken it for perhaps a poorly done explosion effect.

He hit the ground rolling before popping back up, pointing at Tekkan then at Furiko."HAIL SATAN!" Fyodor exclaimed as he thrust both of his arms into the air for a moment before lowering them back down. He strode back towards the academic machine and the fresh neophyte as he began settling some cards back into his duel disk.

As Professor Furiko inquired on if he could answer questions, Fyodor cocked his helmet to stare at one of the wooden doors."Open it and give me access to the garage. I have work to do. Once you do that, I may allow you to ask some questions at my convenience." The biker rolled his shoulders around as he focused his attention on Tekkan, "New assignment. You will keep watch for anyone else who dares to try to interfere with my task. Addendum. You will make sure Rustbucket there does not bother me after he opens the garage and will not consistently pester me with questions that I do not feel like answering. Understood?"

Fyodor paused for a moment as he pulled Tekkan off from his assault on Furiko. "And leave the violence against machines to me. I know how to hurt them more."

Snapping out of his rage-induced haze, Tekkan saluted sharply towards his new boss as he pulled him away from his intended target. "Yes sir! You can count on me, Leader! I won't let anyone but the devil himself into the building!"

Breaking loose of Fyodor's grip, Tekkan jumped back on his feet, getting into position for his sentry duty and making sure neither Furiko nor any passersby tried to pull any funny business while the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell and now Demonic Detective went about his investigation. "Good luck, Leader! I hope you get the info you need."

Carnel had been silently following Rumi and Lua as they chatted with each other and searched for opponents. He, of course, had been observing various Duels that had been happening around him. Many different monsters and Spell/Trap combos were being played, and Carnel did his best to keep the most notable ones memorized. He didn't really tune into their conversation except for when they began talking about certain cards of theirs that had appeared out of nowhere. Carnel found it rather hard to believe, but didn't think they were lying either. In any case, it was very strange, and not really his business.

When they stopped, Carnel turned back to them again. This time, they wanted to decide through a coin toss on whether or not to Duel with each other. He thought the Duel would be a more interesting prospect, and wondered what Lua's deck was composed of. Unfortunately, the coin flip had failed. Interjecting himself into the conversation, Carmel said, "Well, if you two really want to Duel, there's no reason for something as simple as a coin toss result to stop you, is there?"

"Hmm well he does know my deck better than mine... and I don't think we will be able to find someone easily," Rumi said scratching her head after taking her coin out of it "That still hurt a little... I never really was good at flipping coins honestly... You guys wanna look around the academy before we duel then? we might find someone if we don't we duel. They never said we have to stay in here after all" Rumi said pointing at where the card shop would be "Plus it's a good chance to explore the academy, Carnel you mind joining us? I'd appreciate the company" Rumi suggested and asked Carnel if he wanted to join them then pulled out a small bag of small cookies "You guys want some? I still got some leftover from yesterday"

The metal being harder than the boy's flesh and the robot not exactly programmed to feel pain, was largely unfazed by the boy pounding on it. It turned its attention back to Fyodor, a clicking noise coming out of it. Professor Furiko brushed Tekkan away, apparently wanting to get a better look at the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway to Hell. Then, without another word, it rolled toward the door, inserting its hand into the lock, the tumblers audibly clicking as the door unlocked.

The professor rolled away, behind the two students, waiting for them to step inside.

As the automaton designed for academic purposes made the first clicking noise, Fyodor briefly pondered upon what function of the robot that action corresponded with. He didn't think about it for long. A closer inspection of The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell revealed more or less the same as an analysis from a distance. He was fully clad in jet black motorcycle leathers and helmet with a matching color duel disk, not an inch of skin showing. The only new bits of information that would be gleaned from a closer inspection is noting the gloves each had an orange pentagram on the palms, and if one was privy to fashion they'd know the leather ensemble was an expensive set from Stakhanov. The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway to Hell watched as Professor Furiko gave him access to the garage.

Now the Demonic Detective could truly begin his investigation work. He walked right on into the garage eager to find the information he needed for his case.

Tekkan watched from behind as the biker entered the garage, making another salute. "Good luck, Leader! I hope you find what you need!"

Having said his piece, the youth stood in front of the doors, doing sentry duty to make sure no one disturbed the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of hell.

It may take a while for anything to happen, but Tekkan was determined to serve his leader as best he could.

Lua was glad she had gone with his plan, not only for fairness, but also because he didn't want to have their friendship tarnished by a card game, or at least he assumed that such a thing would happen, not everyone could take a loss very well. Even if she didn't loose, then he'd feel more of a failure. Walking with her he had to admit, as quirky as she was she had a lot of good ideas. As she began to pull the cookies out, the smell of sugar inticed him. He moved to her, slowly putting his hand out as she offered them.

"That would be wonderful, thank you"
