Got it. In reference to the ancient knowledge, the entity would have been isolated for such a long time than any languages it once knew are long dead. It can only communicate in vague feelings and concepts and so can't convey anything more complex than 'this is a possibly bad idea'. It's so old that it's too stubborn to learn. It's an ancient and powerful thing, not ancient and smart.
