..thirty years ago, the Omnics declared war. The nations of the world had no answer until they called upon a small group of heroes.

In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world. "Conflict. As the world teetered on the brink of anarchy, a new hope arose. An elite international task-force charged with ending the war, and restoring liberty to all nations. Overwatch. Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities. Guardians who secured global peace for a generation. Under its steadfast protection, the world recovered. And today, though its watch has ended, its soaring ideals of freedom and equality will never be forgotten."
Created at the behest of the United Nations, and since disbanded, Overwatch is an international task-force which was formed during the Omnic Crisis over thirty years ago. A unit consisting of what the world considered to be scientists, soldiers, adventurers, and oddities; Overwatch was intended to carry out asymmetrical warfare against the Omnics. However, in the years to follow, Overwatch was transformed into the international peacekeeping force that it is known as today.
Now recalled back into existence, and holding an abundance of new resources and funding giving it a far-reaching global influence, the members of Overwatch, both old and new, have once more been brought together in the world’s time of need. Ready to keep the peace, and to once again inspire a new era of exploration, innovation and discovery; even going so far as to expand its territory into new research to do with fields such as space exploration, medical research, climatology, and cybernetics- their ultimate goal, global stability.

Once spearheaded by Gérard Lacroix before his death; Talon is a terrorist organization under the command of Gabriel Reyes which still operates around the world, even to this day. Posing as the main threat to Overwatch; Talon operatives continue to reign and cause chaos around the world, led by and following the orders from their three main operatives: Gabriel Reyes, Amélie Lacroix, and a hacker known to the world only by the name 'Sombra'.

Information
One of the countries hit hardest by the Omnic Crisis; Russia (led by the influence and power of Katya Volskaya), during the rebuilding process, rode the wave of the mechanized labor industries revitalization, and quickly entered a period of rapid growth. However, after recent attacks from the long-dormant Siberian Omnium, Katya made the decision, helping Russia to once more return to their war footing; guarding its sparkling cities with massive, human-piloted Svyatogor mechs both developed and produced by Volskaya Industries.

After the Omnic Crisis, Vishkar began the laborious process of creating new, self-sustaining cities to house India's displaced population. One such city, Utopaea, was created using radical hard-light technology that enabled its architechs to shape the city's streets, utilities, and living spaces in the blink of an eye.
Vishkar also secured a contract to redevelop large tracts of Rio de Janeiro. The citizens were told that the development would improve their lives. However, that promise never became a reality. Vishkar imposed controls on the residents in the name of building a more orderly society: enforcing curfews, cracking down on what the company perceived as lawless behavior, and exploiting the populace as a cheap labor force. Sonic technology was used to control the populace. However, that technology was stolen by one of the citizens who led a popular uprising, driving Vishkar out of the city.
Per the events in Rio, Vishkar was subjected to investigation, forcing the company into damage control. While this was going on, the company was involved in negotiations with LumériCo, with Sanjay Korpal engaging in confidential negotiations with CEO Guillermo Portero, relaying the details to the company's executives. The discussions involved importing LumériCo's patented energy systems. When Sombra leaked LumériCo documents and emails to the press, these negotiations were revealed to the public. Atlas News reported on the incident, claiming that the link between the two companies should be a cause for concern.
Currently, Vishkar desires to have a presence in Oasis.

Located in different areas, some even around the globe; each organization works to keep their base secure and secret from all others aside from their own. Please note that the following four bases are those of which are the main bases of operation for each organization; whether they be good... bad... or in between...

Located deep in the forests of Forks, Washington; the Overwatch headquarters (under the direction of Angela Zeigler) is a peaceful and well-kept secret, each of its agents doing everything they can from leaking the information of their location to others, both civilian and other.
A small though still beautiful city in Clallam County, Washington in the United States of America; it was named after the forks in the nearby Quillayute, Bogachiel, Calawah, and Sol Duc rivers. For many years, the city's economy was fueled by the local timber industry, though in more recent years it has drawn tourism related to the novel series Twilight and movies of the same name, which was set within the city of Forks. With recent declines in the timber industry, Forks has relied on the nearby Clallam Bay Corrections Center and Olympic Corrections Center as sources of jobs. A popular destination for sport fishers who fish for salmon and rainbow trout in nearby rivers, it is also supported by visitors to Olympic National Park.

Located in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California; the Talon headquarters (under the direction of Gabriel Reyes) is a well-kept, if not slightly chaotic secret, each of its agents skilled in the art of mystery and keeping things in the shadows, unafraid to kill if they must to keep anyone from leaking the information of their location to others, both civilian or... other.
Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-most populous city within the United States (after New York City), and is the most populated city within California and the county seat of Los Angeles County. Situated within Southern California; Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Nicknamed the "City of Angels", Los Angeles is a global city with a diverse economy in entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine and research. Including Hollywood, and leading the world in the creation of television productions and recorded music; L.A. is also one of the top leaders in motion picture production.

Located in the sparkling city of Moscow, Russia; the Volskaya Industries headquarters (under the direction of Katya Volskaya) is a well-maintained, if not slightly shady and publicly known about company, each of its agents extremely skilled, and exceedingly disciplined, doing everything that they must to uphold and maintain the companies perfect reputation.
A major political, economic, cultural, and scientific center of Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest city entirely on the European continent; by all definitions, Moscow is among the world's largest cities, being the fourteenth largest metro area, the eighteenth largest agglomeration, the fifteenth largest urban area, and the eleventh largest by population within city limits worldwide. Ranked as the ninth most expensive city in the world by Mercer and having one of the world's largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, Moscow is also one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world according to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index, and is the northernmost and coldest mega-city and metropolis on Earth.

Located in the beautiful city of New Delhi, India; the Vishkar Corporation headquarters is a pristine example of modern architecture and structure. Well-known publicly throughout the world to be a company of both good and evil intent, each of its agents do everything within their power to uphold and maintain the companies perfect reputation, despite the issues spawning from both Rio and the media.
Designed by British architects, Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker. New Delhi is a cosmopolitan city due to the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural presence of the vast Indian bureaucracy and political system. The New Delhi town plan, like its architecture, was chosen with one single chief consideration: to be a symbol of British power and supremacy. All other decisions were subordinate to this, and it was this framework that dictated the choice and application of symbology and influences from both Hindu and Islamic architecture. The city's capital status has amplified the importance of national events and holidays; and national events such as Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti (Gandhi's birthday) are celebrated with great enthusiasm in New Delhi and throughout the rest of India.

Within this roleplay we will not only be accepting original characters (OC), but we will also be accepting cannon characters that have already been pre-established throughout the game of Overwatch; characters are not strictly limited to being Human (please see Winston for reference), feel free to have reign over what it is you would like your character to be like, either have them be closely aligned or related with pre-established character- or if you feel like having them be completely new and out of the blue, please feel free do just that; if you wish to speak about a possible idea, please don't hesitate to contact either me, or one of my Co-GM’s via PM or in the OOC about it beforehand, just to make sure that you have the okay to do so.
Those of whom are wishing to play cannon characters must demonstrate a strong writing ability (good grammar, punctuation, etc.), and must please message me and my Co-GM’s with a sample post and a brief story plan (relating to the roleplay) of that particular character for consideration; if the character and sample has been accepted, then you shall indeed be notified as soon as possible, so that you may begin to create your CS, and bring them into the world of Overwatch we have all worked hard to create together.
At this point in time, I am not going to be putting a limit on characters; however at a later date, this may change, but please do not worry if by that time your character list exceeds the limit, no characters will be booted or removed from the roleplay without fair warning- just please know that if, and/ or when this time does come that I add a limit, I will notify you all in the OOC. At this stage we are accepting characters from all walks of life, and from all around the world- let your imaginations come to life, and have fun when creating your characters; and don’t be afraid to entwine their stories with the stories of others... with permission from that roleplayer of course.
PLEASE NOTE: When it comes to character appearances; please... please try to use actual people for your face-claims, and not drawn or anime pictures- as your GM, this tends to be a pet-peeve of mine, and I would really appreciate it. Please post all completed CS's in the OOC for consideration, and once they have been accepted, I shall personally put them in the Character Tab. In advance, I thank you all for your co-operation.
