Jace smiled down at Basil as he continued his approach until he had him right where he wanted him. He loomed over Basil slightly as he stared down at him, placing both of his hands on the wall on either side of him so he couldn't escape. "I have to admit, I was caught off guard when you told me that you died a long time ago, you know. I was absolutely crushed, disassembled like a machine and just thrown back together again to the point where you don't even know if it still works right, anymore." He released a shaky breath, his smile now gone. "All this time, I thanked God every day for still having you by my side. And only to think he was laughing in my face all this time..."
