Dark Souls Universe
Hmmm. I'll explain some of the lore. Dark Souls series are concentrating on keeping the fire going. There are special beings called Lords of Cinder who sacrifice themselves. These Lords originate from various species. I don't know exactly how you become one. They keep the fire going by burning themselves at the Kiln of the First Flame. Lords of Cinder are usually given ability to use fire in combat, as most Lord bosses do in-game. I guess.
 The Abyss is... well... Kinda 'evil stuff'. In DS3, enemies effected by the abyss either have red glowing eyes, or have black snake-like beings on them. Some like Dark Wraiths have tree-like appearances. The black snake-like things are weak to fire. Since I couldn't clearly define Abyss-related things, I just said Darkness-stuff like magicians using dark magic or something covered with evil slimes or something.
 In DS universe, all living things have souls(also used as money in game. Somehow.) Strong beings have great souls, and those souls can be used to craft a something related to the soul(spells, weapons, etc.) using something called "transposing kiln". The group Abyss Watchers is one Lord of Cinder, and that makes them share one soul.
