Lady Fate the overly confident

Okay okay, that was a bad pun... "Destiny" and "Fate" and all, see what I did there? with the title and my usern... never mind - Hi there!

So, I used to do A LOT of online RPGs back in the day, and as I grew older, my free time simply shriveled up. I crave a good writing adventure, though, and so I did what any self-respecting closet writer would do and googled "online forum RPG"

When that turned out to be a bust, I went back to my old territory (Hogwarts Extreme... yes it's Harry Potter related... but also other themes are allowed), where they have VERY strict rules because I'd be sharing the threads with 12-year-olds, and lets be honest... 12-year-olds, as lovely as it is that they are interested in penning their own adventure, they don't really have a solid grasp of writing yet... its a grammar nightmare plagued by mary-su's and gary-stu's with overly troubled/abusive lives because "my characters are so deep you can't even touch the bottom with your tip-toes!" (no offense if your a self respecting 12-year-old... for all I know you could be a writing prodigy. I hope to be proven wrong in my biased opinion!)

Now I don't pretend to be god's gift to the writing community, but I'm pretty confident of my abilities. I consider myself to be absolutely "literate" (its a term used on HEX, not sure if it means the same thing here) in other words, I use proper punctuation, descriptive words, and I try to develop the personalities of my characters as much as possible- but I do not think that "literate" should require mini novellas every post. I average about 3-6 paragraphs when left to my own devices, otherwise I typically match the length of my partner. The more inspired I am, the more detailed and (hopefully) interesting my posts are.
On the other hand, I loathe one liners. I can understand writing dropping down when in the middle of conversation or quick action, but one liners leave me deflated and uninspired. When I'm uninspired, its difficult to think of things to write, when its difficult I don't want to post, and then I avoid it all together and don't post at all... then comes the shame and queue Sia.

I favor original content/stories over fanfiction, but that doesn't rule their themes out completely for me. My favorite themes are a healthy helping of Fantasy and Adventure with a dash of Romance to taste. I'm a plotting addict, for sure. Its probably my favorite part. No joke. I love scheming up was to torment our characters and throw curveballs into the mix, and then piecing it all together for the grand finale. If you're interested in conjuring up a story, drop me a line!

But what will be will be... it's fate! *eyebrow wiggle* lol

@Lady Fate

Welcome to the Guild! Guess your arrival here was meant to be. ;D gosh that was a terrible pun i am so sorry
Rest assured, I like to think that a majority of Guild users have a solid-to-plasma grip on grammar and writing. I dearly hope you enjoy your stay in this crazy lil' niche of the interwebs. If you ever wanna RP or chat, feel free to PM me! I love meeting new friends, as well as plotting eccentricities for my victi--I mean, characters to go through.

See you around!

(Also, random side note, I really like your avatar picture!)
