The door opened to the very same hallway as it had opened to when they had peeked behind it prior to smashing the little chest. This time there was no light to be seen in the upper floor though, no matter how hard one looked for it. That also meant there was no way to tell where the hole in the roof would be then, but since that wasn't the floor there should be nothing to fear, especially since they were moving forward as carefully as they were.

On the floor did lay some sort of a carpet, but since it was really dark they could only tell it by the fact the weapon they used to probe their route did not make much sound as it hit the ground on those spots. Some distance into the dark they could start hearing an odd sound, however... it seemed to be coming from the left side, maybe behind a wall and a door, but it was as if someone was... shivering? It sounded much like a human in early stages of hypothermia indeed. A brief check-up confirmed that it indeed was in a room along the hallway, behind an iron-reinforced door.
