Callie

[@Legion02][@December][@BlackPanther]

Callie watched Quinton leave the inn, and stood at the window, watching him sit in his car, before driving off. She couldn’t truly imagine what it must be like, to have the burden of the pack, and his daughter. Her mind went to her coven. To the boy that had walked out the house the night before, to the girl upstairs, that she knew she’d have to watch, and guide. To Leo, who had kept her steady, who had helped her in a tough time, who had been there, from the first moment she had gained the inn, the little store with it. For a long time, he had been her only coven, and that had been the way she had liked it. Now...the prospect of teaching a young mind, a budding talent, was both frightening, and thrilling. As Quinton started off, Callie turned from the window, returning to the kitchen, and the food she had been preparing. As there weren’t any other guests, apart from her coven and Magnus, Callie retreated to her private kitchen, and worked a potion on one stove, the gas stove, and food on the other, making sure not to mix the two. Wooden spoon for food, metal spoon for spelling. Cooper pots for spelling. She did everything by instinct now, years of training, and a few small mishaps, had instilled it as second nature to her. Bacon was sizzling on a pan, hash browns cooking on the grill, while the spell she was cooking shimmered away. As a timer tinged, she turned the gas stove off, letting the potion cool, slipped the metal spoon into the vat of salt water, and flipped the bacon over, checked the hash browns. Retrieving some eggs from the fridge, she cracked them onto another pan, singing softly under her breath. ”...And I’ll rise up I'll rise like the day I’ll rise up I'll rise unafraid I'll rise up And I’ll do it a thousand times again And I’ll rise up…” Tigress danced around her feet, meowing in a slightly demanding way, and Callie chuckled, dishing the food out onto plates, she fed the kitten, and dropped seven disks of redwood into the potion, making sure she could fish them out easily. Shifting, she muttered a spell, using the leyline nearby to fuel the magic, and lifted the plates into the air, where they soon settled down on the dining table. She knew that the scent of food would lure the others out, and for a moment she retreated back to the kitchen, fishing the amulets out, she muttered another spell, infused the earth magic with ley line magic, something that was bordering on illegal magic, yet Callie knew how to dance a fine line. Hanging the amulets up, she returned to the dining room, satisfied, with what she had done that morning, and the homely task of cooking had settled her. She had a lot to talk with Alexis, and therefore Leo about, and a hearty breakfast would set them for what was going to be a long day. As the thought crossed her mind, Callie retrieved her phone, turning it on, to send a message to Zoé. She stopped and sighed. What she had to say would be best said in person, later that day.
