Okay, my thoughts are as follows.

Firstly. He is 17. 17

With mastery of three unique and powerful magics, and "Possessing a prodigious knowledge of all known runic languages and then some".

Learing anything takes time, lots and lots of time. Even if he was taught from a young age, there would not be enough time for him to effectively learn even more then a single magic.

The Unicorn blood. Look, with all the other stuff he has going on here, the implications of him possesing something like that is enormous. It also doesn't fit with his personality. Pure of heart? No.

The Rune mastery. First part aside, the way you have written it, is too damn powerful. Blocking medium grade magic on a whim? You are basically saying he is invincible to all but the most devastating of spells. But with preplanning he can block a spell like Abyss Break? Hell no. Abyss Break is on par with Fairy Law, which is in turn, on par with Etherion (you know, the satellite square capable of destroying cities or even countries?) in complexity and power.

Teleportation (a-la flying raijin jutsu straight outa Naruto) the problem with this is it is already an extremely powerful ability in the right hands, and you have just added it on to his kit like it's nothing. Instant teleportation. Let that sink in.

Zarkoon-sama summed up my thoughts on Imperial Eye pretty well.

And did I mention that all this magic and power is in hands of a "impulsive and overconfident" 17 year old anti hero "with little regard for the consequences of his actions" who is trying to topple a kingdom?

...oh, and where the hell did he get Ea from?

To clarify what Caits said, she has explicitly decided that she will not be accepting S class wizards right off the bat.

The backstory, the most important part to me, is passible by canon standards, but it has a few problems bynthe RP. Firstly, his family would have been hunted not long ago in what is basically the salem witch trials, the inquisition, and the crusades all wrapped in a lovely ball. Yet there is no mention or adressing of this. Even practicing his magic should have drawn unwanted attention. And that's just the start. Don't get me started on demolition an entire stronghold with magic.

Considering all the tension between mages and non mages at this point (especially after the arc we just went through, but you had no way of knowing about that, so I don't hold it against you) an act like that would have gotten him hunted down and arrested for sure.

To sum it up, your character is far too young to be so powerful, his backstroy needs some fleshing out, and his personality is one step from a full out homicidal anarchist villain.

It could have been harsher.

I really was attempting to be gentler, but still stern.

You pretty much covered all I was gonna say, though I would've explained the S-Class thing differently.

Uh, also, I probably need to do a "is this character OP?" Test on Mayt and Luna. Especially the latter.

Eh my bad, seems I glossed over a lot. I didn't know I had to talk with Caits about my character. Apologise for this and I'll be sure to edit everything you all mentioned.

Just addressing some points made^

@Zarkun
I didn't quite get your critique on the Tattoo Magic or maybe it's just that I didn't clarify it (which soon become all too common). The magic allows him to create/erase tattoos on himself and this just goes hand in hand with his runes. So yeah guess it's my bad on that one.

The thing on 'nigh-unbreakable' bones I get sorta but I mean there's always impalement and internal damage, also if something were strong enough to break his bones then I reckon it would result in something much more worse than a broken arm or leg.

The unicorn blood part.. yeah I just wanted to insert an interesting tidbit in with everything.

Uhh our reflexes depend on how fast signals transmit from our body to the brain, no? I'm not an expert in the field so I might be horribly wrong but I thought that was the general consensus. Also note to Rune of Strength's faster muscles. Did tone the increase down through, being faster than a trained speed magic user is over the top.

The Imperial Eye, first off: thanks for noticing the amount of effort I put into^ Very heartening, I was brainstorming for a good hour or so and the mechanics of it^ Forgot to include the last part of Sacred Commandment, whoops. Thought an hour would be enough at first but then realised just how ridiculous that was, so I changed it to a day and completely spent like you advised to.

Aaaand the backstory.. yeah I didn't spend enough time with it as I should have. Once again: my bad.

@Crimson Raven
Just wanted to say: you didn't seem so harsh at all, I completely got where you came from and grateful for not jumping the gun there with Nico.

Swore I edited the age to early 20s or so. Now I've done so. Addressed the unicorn blood part, didn't really go for the 'pure of heart' but it's misleading, so removed.

Downgraded the Barrier and y'know I always thought Abyss Break as building buster tier with Fairy Law a selective army buster and Etherion being a solid island buster. Thanks for clearing that up with me, did not know.

The teleportation seemed great at first, I was sorta basing my Runes off of Narutoverse seals and other stuff so that ability seemed to key in. Guess I needed someone to tell me that would be overpowered on top of everything else.

Nico's impulsive and confident for good reason, ego being his most prominent personality trait. And he would like his throne back, as he was raised to desire the one thing he was taken in for. The guy's a magic Vegeta or Namor, an anti-hero coming from a royal background with too much pride and ego.

Sorry, slipped my mind to name the sword from the Transcendant Blade.

Okay this part really confused me and it may just be me. I looked over the character section there was a few S classes here and there. So with his pre-edited powerset I didn't see fit to call him an A class and it was my mistake to not have it clarified before.

Edited parts of the backstory you mentioned, while keeping true to what it was originally.

Yeah sooo.. thanks for the constructive criticism, was very helpful^ Eager to join y'all^

@TechnoWizROKYeah, I'll just clarify the 'S Class' meaning real quick, and leave it to the other guys for CS Critique.

S-Class isn't a 'normal' rank. It doesn't necessarily mean that someone's more powerful than the other members of the guild, it means that they're a member trusted by the Guild Master, and that in the absence of the Guild Master they're in charge. It means they're also trusted to represent the guild wherever they may be, and to handle special missions. S-Class is granted by Guild Masters under select conditions, usually including a trial, and is almost never offered to people who wouldn't make good leaders within the guild anyway.

So, being an S-Class mage really only means that you're an 'officer' of whatever guild you're a part of, and isn't an actual denotation of power.

A good example of the distinction is comparing Mark Zerrit, an S-Class of the dark guild Iron Enigma, to some of the A-Class members of Phoenix Wing. Many of them could beat him in a fight, even if he is S-Class. This is mostly because Mark was selected for an S-Class for his friendship and reputation with his guildmates, rather than his sheer magical power (Though he's not a pushover by any means). There was also Luna (Who should only be A-Class now because she's not in a guild), who possesses an impressive talent for magic and could probably be a serious combatant for almost anyone, but wouldn't have been S-Class if she didn't also have the ability to at least pretend to be a real dark guild member when out in the field to represent the guilds interests (and maintain a certain positive relationship with the other members of Iron Enigma). Meanwhile, Solux, who is a powerful member of Iron Enigma as well, will never make S-Class because he is too volatile and dangerous.

That should be a decent explanation. (I chose members of Iron Enigma for my examples because I run that entire guild myself, so I know their guild master's thought processes on the matter, but I'm pretty sure it's something pretty similar everywhere).

@TechnoWizROK I'll leave the detailed critiquing to others, but for possible clarification to the reflex thing. The signals going to the muscles is one thing. But then the muscles also have to have the reaction time to respond to signals it is receiving. So a faster signal does not immediately equate to faster reaction time. That is what I believe they are getting at.

Aside from the magic and abilities of the character I'm curious how he will interact with others. You've created a strong lone wolf character. Wondering how you'll integrate, if at all, with any of the existing groups. Suppose if you're going for a character that is alone most of the time then that'll work.

@TechnoWizROK Better but couple issues still, though one is more of a questionable issue. First, the current main ruler is actually a Queen. Also, again, dragons, humanity, fighting a war that humanity is losing until some dragons saw what they were doing as wrong and taught humans Dragon Slayer Magic. The Dragon King Festival was significant because essentially that's when Acnologia came to be/power.

@TechnoWizROK Perhaps the issue is that prior to the Dragon King Festival, dragons ruled the world. The only area that humans and dragons were at peace before that was The Kingdom of Dragnof.

All other areas had to deal with dragons where humans were seens as food and attacked regularly. So a large kingdom would be difficult to form.

A Fairy Tail roleplay that has been active for 3 years..? Now that's what i call surprising. You guys already have my respect for that alone...
Pleasantries apart I'd like to know a few things about the RP before effectively starting to make a sheet. As i personally hate to write characters just to have them refused because of stuff that hasn't been mentioned in the rules simply because it ended up becoming common sense for the members of the RP or something along these lines.

Anyway, given that small and completely unneeded introduction to why I'm asking stuff, I'll proceed with making no further delay and present my 3 essential questions that may or not be composed by more than 3 questions in despite of my stubbornness in classifying them like that:

1. What are the limits for power level? Considering what I've read before in the OOC, power level is supposed to be defined by descriptions in the sheet rather than ranking - especially for independent mages - starting from Rank A. Since it is organized like that, what is the effective limit of a wizard's power level? How do you plan to avoid having people exploiting vague descriptions to use magic in the level of a spriggan with ease?

2. What are the restrictions about magic types? Is the presence of slayers and other lost magic users restricted or anything - including ancient magic and black arts - is fine as long as it respects the maximum power level proposed by the Rp?

3. What is the current situation of the RP? Is there any Arc or noteworthy event happening IC right now?

@Spanner

I am not a GM but I can attempt to answer to the best of my knowledge. I may generalize the first because that is more determined by the GMs.

1. From my personal experience in this RP, if your magic is extremely destructive, largely unstoppable, or unavoidable then there is likely a problem. The other issue comes with being over versatile. If you can do everything then some or all of those magics should suffer in some way.

Take my character for instance. Ariel can essentially copy magic types. Her potential for being OP is through the roof given that she could potentially do everything. However I knew that so I put drawbacks. First she has to encounter them enough to copy it. Then she starts low for each of those magic types and has to actually use them to grow them. As the breadth of magic available to her grows her time has to be divided among them. So some of those magics will be stronger than others because they're used more, while the others lag behind. She also doesn't inherently learn advanced spells and has to either use more generic spells or learn the stronger ones. Copied slayer magic is a little special but not common or utilized often on purpose. Did I perhaps make it over complicated in an attempt to make her less OP? Probably, but it worked and I think it makes for a more interesting character.

2. Most of the slayer magics are scrutinized pretty heavily and generally not accepted. The one exception at this point might be Demon Slayer because most of those characters are no longer active. However slayer magic is usually discouraged because there are enough as is and they are supposed to be rare. Lost magic and black arts are also rare but there aren't as many so you're probably safer with that. And yes they all have to fall under the power restrictions.

3. We are currently at the beginning of a new arc. I'm not even entirely sure what is coming next. The previous arc was thefirst Grand Magic Games in over 100 years.

While it doesn't exactly what I asked for, your explanation was fairly helpful overall and undoubtedly helped me with deciding to make a character for this RP. That being said, I'll probably take a while to elaborate my character(s), so any other helpful comment or tip would be wholeheartedly welcomed for now.

Hm, well if they ever ruled Fiore then they would have had to take it from the Fiore family for which it is named. That makes that part harder. Now the Flamel's could have been one of the families vying for power after the war, as the fall of the dragons would have created a power vacuum pretty much everywhere. So perhaps the two families fought one another early on but lost. So they've been plotting and grooming Nico for this position that he believes is his rightful place. Not as illustrious but an option.

They could also have been a kingdom that rose up in another area of the continent but lost their kingdom. But then you lose the connection to Fiore. So I'm not sure what you would prefer.
