Sparrowstar left the mice under a bush, and spotted a bird in the sky. She growled, and picked up the 5 mice - 3 of which were babies - and went back to camp. The babies wouldn't even feed a kit.

Emberdust could see the clan leader up ahead with some prey dangling from her mouth. It looked like they were both on the way back to camp. She picked up her pace and tried, somewhat successfully, to run with the rabbit clamped in her mouth. "Sparrowstar!" She called out, though the word sounded a bit muffled.

Sparrowstars ears twitched, and she spun around. She nodded at emberdust, and continued walking. Her mouth was full to the max, so any words she said would sound slurred and hard to understand.

The deputy fell into step beside her leader. She could tell that there was a lot weighing in on the she-cat's mind and, with recent events, she wasn't all too surprised. A quick sidelong glance and she noted the five mice in Sparrowstar's jaws. Three of them looked like they were only a few days old, hardly enough for even Skypaw. Emberdust followed Sparrowstar into camp where she dropped off the rabbit into the miserably tiny pile of prey. She sighed, now able to speak with her mouth free, "How are you doing, Sparrowstar?" She asked, genuine concern in her voice.

Sparrowstar placed the mice onto the pile and sighed.
"If only I got a piece of prey every time someone asked me that. The whole clan would be feed..." She shook her head. "The clans leaving this forsaken place tomorrow. We cant live here... there's no prey, and from what I've heard, little to no herbs. we'll be heading for those mountains" She said, flicking her tail in the direction.

Emeberdust looked towards the mountains, a contemplative look on her face. As much as it hurt her to say it, she suspected that the journey wouldn't be too bad. With the youngest being an apprentice and the oldest a warrior, they didn't have kits or elders to worry about. It was definitely a better plan than simply staying in these barren moorlands. She nodded solemnly, "You should make an announcement to the clan." She cast her amber gaze across the meagre camp they had scrapped together. With their clan numbers being at an all time low, it was easy to tell who was out. "Shall I go gather everyone?"

Sparrowstar nodded.
"That would be a great help, thank-you. And Emberdust? Next kit that's born... Its your apprentice. We need an experienced mentor to help a apprentice in a new land."

Emberdust has been about to turn away when Sparrowstar called her back again. She nodded, "Alright." She said, though she wanted to say that the likelihood of that happening in the near future would be next to none. But if their leader was still optimistic, then she would have to try to be like that too. She turned away then and padded out of the camp. She paused to scent the air when she was a little ways out. Detecting the smell of their medicine cat apprentice and another warrior, she headed their way.

Leapstep was talking to Skypaw still *cough LyraGetYourButtHere cough *

Sparrowstar saw Acorntail, the youngest warrior, laying down by the warriors den. "Eat." She commanded her, before taking a mouse for herself.

As she drew closer, Emberdust could see Leapstep talking to Skypaw. She hesitated for a brief moment and then cursed herself for acting silly. It was just Leapstep and Skypaw for StarClan's sake, what was wrong with her? She padded towards them, "Leapstep? Skypaw?" She called out calmly.

"They seem rather enveloped right now, Perhaps I can help you with something Emberdust?" Puddleheart had padded over to the deputy when she saw her apprentice being approached, the medicine cat, aware of the tendency of young cats to become distracted and not do things they mean to, like gather the important herbs needed for situations such as the one the clan was in, and Skypaw seemed to be engaging in gathering those herbs currently. Besides it had been awhile since she had talked with her old friend Emberdust. "You look like there is something on your mind" The she-cat continued.

Acorntail was in camp, trying to patch up a hole in the warriors den. She was grumbling under her breath, and her eyes had a hard glint in them.

Emberdust started somewhat when the medicine cat spoke up from somewhere behind her. She mentally reprehended herself for not having noticed Puddleheart at all. "Ah, sorry to interrupt," She apologized, turning her attention to the other she-cat now. At her later comment, Emberdust tilted her head a bit and sighed, "Everyone's got a busy mind lately. Has Sparrowstar told you about her plans to leave?"

Meanwhile, a very enthusiastic Sootpaw came bumbling into the warrior's den. "Acorntail!" He grinned, "Whatcha doooing?" He sang, sauntering up towards his mentor.

"What I am doing is trying to fix this starclan-blasted hole in the roof. It keeps dropping earth and dust onto me at night and I cant sleep." She growld, finally fixing a large rock and clumps of earth in. "Done!" She said, and turned around, looking proud.

"You aren't interrupting a thing" Puddleheart said, inwardly chuckling at the deputy's surprised look, but outwardly keeping a serene facade of thoughtfulness and care. then she responded to the cats other question "She has indeed, we talked at some length about it earlier" Puddleheart said quietly, she had actually been hoping to get the deputy's thoughts on the matter anyway, so her bringing it up was actually a nice coincidence.

Leaftail sat on the floor of his den, eating his last scrap of food. He was extremely grateful for it as was his growling stomach that was at least somewhat sated. He had heard a rumor that the clan would be moving soon. Hopefully it was true. Hopefully it had more food than here.

Well, Emberdust wasn't at all surprised that the medicine cat already knew about Sparrowstar's plan. She nodded solemnly, "It will be a long journey, but worth the trouble. Whatever is over there must be better than here." She sounded a bit uncertain about the last part. After all, what guarantee did they have that the land by the mountains would be any better than the moors here? For all they knew, there could be worst problems - like Twolegs for instance. But Emberdust didn't say anything about her worries, instead, she took on a more optimistic tone, "Anyway, I just came to gather every cat for a meeting. Sparrowstar plans to tell the whole clan. Is it just the three of you who's out?"

Sootpaw looked up at the patchwork that his mentor had did on the roof. He tilted his head a bit and blinked, well, it looked like that issue was fixed so he didn't pay much more attention to it. "Great!" He chirped, hopping twice on his paws. He ducked down, his rump in the air and tail twitching with excitement, "So what're we gonna' learn today, Acorntail? How to fight dogs? How about Twolegs? Oh! How about some super-awesome-secret-killing technique?" The apprentice gushed, his entire being seemingly rippling with energy despite the generally glum atmosphere in camp.

Acorntail purred in amusement at the apprentices excitement.
"How about we practice our stalking moves? I need to touch up on them... been a while since I've been under the cover of trees, so I guess we should catch up on our running too...."

Leaftail finished his measly meal and walked out of his den and into the moor. The clan was going about it's daily business and Leaftail was excited to be joining. His hunting patrol was about to leave so he walked up and joined them, stepping around nervously as they prepared.

"Okay!" Sootpaw meowed excitedly before jumping up and whipping around. He darted out of the den and hopped around on the spot as he looked around the camp. It didn't take him long to spot Leaftail. Momentarily forgetting his mentor, Sootpaw bounded towards the new warrior, "Leaftail! Leaftail! Wanna train with me? Acorntail said we're gonna' do some stalking and running too - or, or something!"
