  I get what you mean. As I don't usually mess around with deity stuff in my stories, your characters would have an edge over the Authoress, anyway, with the "higher authority" as you call it.

  Personally, I see us, the authors, as people who open gateways of sorts to other "worlds" for others to see, witness, and enjoy (okay that sounded a bit weird), not literally create them. But if you see it that way, you do you. ^.^
