[@deyinger] No ordinary people do not possess magic. The children would be born in, let's say Atlantis. They would be hidden at the start because of the Prophecy. The parents or the children can know if you want them to or be ignorant of the Prophecy. 

For animals and creatures, most are everyday animals. In Atlantis however you can expect more magical sea creatures.
