Its actually quite interesting, Erin will try with all her might to make Erin drop the stern and rigid knight act, and Fia will try her hardest to not show emotions.

Under the mask, nobody knew how embarrassed she was, and probably saw someone fearless, imposing and scary. 
The moment Erin took of Fia's mask, everyone could see her blushing heavily :lol.
