I really wanted to try this.
The tongs slide in and out with practiced precision. I check the bullet to see if it's clean and whole. It is.
It's weird that I thought to check for that. Guess I have done this before?
The one in his leg is harder. The wound is small, but the bullet shattered.
I carefully retrieve each bit and clean both wounds with sea water and some alcohol.
Where'd the bandages go. Ah, there.
Something about wrapping bandages is calming. It feels like an old ritual. No images or memories come to mind though.
"I'm done. Looks pretty good. I'd say you'll recover in a couple of months.. but for you I doubt it'd take that long. Days? Hours? Well, no matter how long it takes to heal, as long as it's kept clean it won't infect or scar."
