I appear out of nowhere randomly. NAME : Seb Espon SUPERHERO NAME: Contracted AGE and BIRTHDAY: 18 (April, 13th) APPEARANCE: Large is probably most people’s first impression. He’s about six and a half feet tall with broad shoulders and a muscular build, so pretty damn intimidating. Well, at least he smiles most of them time, even if it’s small and more like a curl of the lips. His eyes are an oddity though; mostly golden but with black intermixed, a result of his ability. He doesn’t really need a costume since his powers involve shapeshifting, and he pretty much becomes unrecognizable. His skin takes on a blood red hue; a white mask of bone covers his face, accompanied by a pair of horns easily a foot in length; and his feet and arms elongate unnaturally so, gaining a foot of height in the process. (Yeah I really can't find anything that would fit his transformation as a whole, so these are just a few that have similar aspects of their appearances.) GENDER: Male PERSONALITY: While not anti-social, Seb is an individual who seems disconnected to the people around him. He rarely makes an attempt to interact with others outside of what is necessary, but is an amiable individual; polite and soft-spoken. He does enjoy pushing himself both mentally and physically, though surprisingly more-so the former, and welcomes competition, even if he doesn’t openly show it. When he invokes his powers Seb does become a bit more troublesome to deal with. His personality changes quite drastically; what was once distant is now cold and even a bit cruel. And while not completely psychopathic, his qualms about hurting others physically are also essentially erased. This shift is the main reason he doesn’t like bringing out his full powers. BACKGROUND: Seb has quite the story to tell, not that he would be willing to tell anyone, nor would most people care to listen to him explain. Anyways, to start off, Seb is an orphan. No one knows who his biological parents were, but only that he was dropped off at the Academy’s doorsteps when he was barely a few days old. Even odder was that there was absolutely no trace of who had done the deed. Even for the sophisticated technology employed by the institution all that they knew was that one moment he hadn’t been there and the next he was. He was taken in, if only for the time it would take to arrange for a transfer to an orphanage. Yet, that plan was quickly scrapped when it was revealed that even at a young age, Seb’s metahuman powers had already become active. While the transformations were only minor, such as a darkening in skin color or two slight bulges on his forehead, they were enough for the Academy to file for custody. Being the organization of great importance that they were, it wasn’t hard for them to stake their claim on the newborn. A recent retiree of the Disciplinary Squad took him in after the offer was extended by the Academy. They thought it would be best for someone who had developed powers so early to have a firm, guiding hand as he grew up. She thought it would be nice to have a child, someone to take care of now that she had quit her job. It worked out well enough. She grew to love him like one of her own; he was very calm, even as a child. And he loved her, not caring about the situation that had brought them together. It was a nice family. Of course, he was still technically adopted by the Academy, and it was never too far off his mind. The weekly tests, the daily training, the packaging on his meals, even a portion of his belongings, all of them reminded him of the Academy that loomed over his head. Frankly, he didn’t mind it since he rarely wanted for anything. While the Academy had relented to allowing him a normal elementary school life at his mother’s request, he was going to be attending the Academy once that was over. He wasn’t very popular at public school though. Rumors were common given his extensive ties to the Academy, and he had little people to call friends. Little though, not none, and the time he spent with them were some of the best. He was never really outgoing, but they brought, and sometimes, dragged him along with them all the way through school. Unfortunately things came to an end when he finally transferred to the Academy. Many things. All applicants had to submit to a testing prior to entry to the Academy, even someone who was a “pet project”. During regular training he never utilized his powers to their full extent, his instincts told him something would go horribly if he did. Yet he didn’t have an option here, not with Board watching. So for the first time he fully transformed, and well… horrible things happened. The test instructor was caught off guard by exactly how vicious Seb was, suffering several dislocations as a result . While Seb didn’t need to be forcibly restrained, the change in personality was noted, as was his shift in appearance — dark, unsettling, and monstrous. As a result of all that, despite being more than capable to qualify as a “hero” Seb was placed in Detention. He didn’t necessarily care though. The same could not be said of for his mother, but there wasn't much she could do in her current position. If the problem had shown itself years ago she might have been able to have a hand in helping, but now in her mid-60s already, there's only so much someone can do to maintain their health. She was also one of the unlucky ones, her meta-human powers began to disappear a long time ago; it was one of the reasons she retired from the Academy rather than continue work. Her mouth is still sharp as ever though, something that was made quite clear over the phone. POWERS: Daemonic Physiology (Rakshasa) - An ability that allows Seb to shapeshift and take on the traits of a Daemon, in his case a Rakshasa. While he gains the most benefits through a complete shift, the ability also has had some innate changes to his person. Appearance-wise aside, he would normally be considered the peak of human physical conditioning, his nails are closer to claws, and his body fluids are actually venomous to most living things. When he performs the full change and completely transforms Seb experiences a boost in physical capabilities that put him squarely into superhuman levels. Dodging bullets at range, moving faster than people can aim when closer, or taking a few if he has to, and smashing his way through a concrete wall are all possible. He also gains a heightened sense for battle that lets him use his enhanced abilities more effectively. His nails shift into something tougher than steel and become coated in a potent paralysis venom. REASON FOR DETENTION: Considering his powers literally involve changing and taking on a Daemonic form, well it’s fairly obvious why nobody really wants him as a “hero”. He’s also an issue when he uses the more potent of his abilities seeing as they cause his personality to become more dangerous; he was very nearly expelled after sending a student to the hospital for several months.
