Recently I've been obsessed with reading various novels of a similar plot. A figure from ancient history, typically someone incredibly powerful, due to some circumstance is forced to enter a "stasis" of some kind, be it a powerful healing spell forcing them to remain asleep as they heal, sealing their souls away to prevent its destruction, having the entire population of planet earth sent away, of juts sleeping for a long time, and once they free themselves from this, they find themselves in the far future, normally to a world that has forgotten much of its ancient power.

I wanted to know if anyone would be open to trying to RP something like that.

I have an idea for something like that too, actually. A living goddess, choosing to seal herself to allow humanity to flourish on their own, awakens a millenia year where everything has gone to shit in her absence.

Sounds cool. The idea I had about this was the characters from this "Golden Age" were people like, genius scientists who had been in cryosleep, mages who sealed themselves away of froze themselves in time, and stuff like that. Your idea's pretty cool too.

Ooh! Can I play the love interest who inadvertently (or even purposefully) woke the slumbering hero(es)? Or maybe you wanted to be an anti-hero? Or even a straight-out Take-over-the-world emperor! That would be fun, too! I just want to be the weak but faithful support.

Well, I guess that might work? My idea was that everyone plays a different figure from the Golden Age, and through circumstance and luck we all arrive in the same Time period and near each other. We're not necessarily heroes. Your character should work though.

I occurred to me, that my description in the opening post feels a bit lacking, and because I ended up writing out the entire summary, I'll just post it here.

Long ago, the world was in a Golden Age. Advances in science saved the lives of millions, studies run by the many institutes of magic discovered hundreds of new uses for their power, and for the first time in thousands of years, the cultivators sects were united through the brotherhood of a generation of heaven-defying geniuses.

However, an unknown scourge soon brought the world to its knees. Monstrous beasts ravaged the Land, coming from the black rifts that appeared throughout the 10 nations. With guns, magic, and the might of the cultivators from the many sects, the world fought the monsters, but soon understood they were doomed from the start.

As they stood against impossible odds, the peoples of the world made a great sacrifice. 100 individuals, chosen for their strength and knowledge, were to abandon their homes and their time, to wait for the future, when perhaps thing would be different.

And now, 2000 years later, many of these figures have begun to awaken, to a world far weaker, yet far strong as well.
