It was a few days before July 5th when an announcement was made. This announcement was directed towards those who were aged between twelve and eighteen. And preferably that lived within the Kalos region. For those who are interested Professor Augustine Sycamore had invited those looking for adventure and seeking to become a Pokemon trainer to meet up with him on July 5th no later than 3:00 pm at the south entrance of Santalune Forest! Upon arrival you are suppose to have these few items along with you:
A permission slip from your parents or guardian.
Your I.D.
Some personal items such as clothes, food, stuff for hygiene etc.
The professor will then make his announcement no later than 4:00 pm. Giving everyone enough time to fill out their information sheets. The professor wants you bring your A-game do to there being a handful of tests. Those who score the highest will then proceed to follow him back to his lab to receieve not only your first Pokemon partner you will be getting a handful of items and cash to help you get started on your journey!

Some Things You Might Want to Consider:

Be smart when packing your items. Pack light since most roads are rougher than others. But pack efficiently for when certain situation do arise.
It would be wise to use the buddy system when traveling. Pokemon are fun to have around but some are unable to aide you when a disaster strikes or when you are injured. So it best to travel with another person.
Be aware of your surroundings and those around you. Somethings may not be what they seem.
Stick to marked paths when entering an unfamiliar area.
Don't eat strange foods when you come across them. Best to leave it alone if you don't want it is or ask a local if it is safe to eat.
Most of all make safe choices whenever you encounter a new situation. Always use the local emergency numbers if need too.

The morning was bright. Just too bright for Clyde to handle first thing. He tossed and turned a few times in his bed until he couldn't take it any longer. In a lazy manner Clyde rolled from his bed. Staggering over to the window. He had to shield his eye from the blinding light. He peered outside to see the street below, it was full of life. Though it wasn't very crowded just yet. Mostly people going for a morning stroll, heading off to work the normal usual stuff. Vaniville Town is quiet but decent place. Nothing much ever happens here. Clyde glanced over at his clock to note the time.

7:00 am. Too early...!

He sighed a bit annoyed. But now that he was up he had not other choice but to get ready. He could easily go back to sleep but he has to go to work in nearly an hour. So best not to go bed. Clyde went ahead and took a quick five minute shower. Coming out of the bathroom half dripping wet still. He slowly pulled on his usual clothes. Black pants, black tank top, white and dark blue jacket, black gloves and black boots. Looking at himself in the closet mirror he traced the scar across his left before slipping on his eye patch. Then he combed his hair with his fingers before heading out.

The room he rents is part of an upstairs studio. There are other rooms besides his. Below the studio rooms are a assortment of small stores. One of which is a coffee shop slash book store. This is where he works part time. Since he had a bit of time before work he planned on enjoying himself some breakfast. The owner, hiss boss, often saves day old bagels and other goodies that can't be sold anymore for him on the days that he works. Soon he reached the long hallway downstairs Clyde pulled out his copy of the key and entered the back entrance of the cafe. He flipped the switch on before proceeding. The shop another forty minutes. Enough time for him to eat and listen to the radio before he had to open shop.

Clyde fixed himself a bagel with a thick layer of cream cheese, sliced ham, lettuce and tomato. To most this sandwich seems rather gross but to him it heaven in the mouth! Clyde clicked the remote that controls the radio. Switching through the stations until he found something interesting to listen too. For the next seven minutes Clyde was peacefully enjoying his breakfast. When all a sudden he felt a hand touch his shoulder. Clyde paused for a moment before glancing up. Checks filled with food. The person who grabbed his shoulder was the owner. Mr. Tyson.

"Well, it is nice to see you up so bright and early. Last time I had to go wake you." Mr. Tyson said with a smile. Do to Clyde's habit of sleeping time away Mr. Tyson likes to come in around the time Clyde is suppose opening shop. Sometimes the elderly man comes in sooner just because. Clyde gave a thumbs up in responds for that was all he could do since he was still chewing. Mr. Tyson patted Clyde on the shoulder before disappearing into the back to bake some pastries.

Alone again Clyde again took his time eating his meal. The music echoing in his ears. Mr. Tyson normally doesn't change the station to classical until customers start wondering. But today he choose to differ. Clyde didn't mind. He enjoys pretty much anything. Just then the music faded off. Then a male announcer apologized for the interruption then proceeded with his announcement. Mr. Tyson thinking it was important turned the volume up a little higher not wanting to miss anything. Both he and Clyde listened closely.

"We bring you this announcement regarding something most exciting! If you are looking on becoming a Pokemon trainer and are in between the ages of twelve and eighteen are welcome to part take in a series of tests that Professor Augustine Sycamore has put together. Those who gain the highest scores will then be able to return with him to his lab to receive your very own Pokemon! If you are interested please come to the south entrance of Santalune Forest on July 5th, at no later than 3:00 pm. And please bring the following with you...." Before the announcement could finish the station started to static. The words fading in and out. Mr. Tyson tried to fix it by turning the dial on the remote but it didn't seem to work. In the end he turned the radio off.

For a moment nothing was said. Clyde finished off the last bite of his sandwich. While Mr. Tyson stroked his chin in thought. "I think you should part take in this event, Clyde my boy." He started to say. "I think it would be good for you. Going on adventures. Gaining new friends. All you do is hang around here or are sleeping life away. I never had chance to become a Pokemon trainer myself, there was a time where I could have but choose not too. There are times when I regret my dissension. So what to say?" Mr. Tyson insisted but still left it up for Clyde to decide.

Clyde glanced up at the old timer with a blank stare before answering. "You do have a point, I do spend too much time here but I like it this way. After all this is my home. Though going on adventures does seem interesting. And owning my Pokemon is something I have been thinking about lately... I will think on it." Clyde said thoughtfully. All Mr. Tyson did was nod in understanding before disappearing once again towards the back.

The tree outside Sylvia's bedroom window was alive with Fletchlings chirping to the tune of a beeping alarm. Rolling onto her side, Sylvia opened her groggily eyes, staring at the far wall as she reached to shut off the alarm clock and sat upwards. Rubbing her eyes, it wasn't long before Sylvia noticed the wet sensation of drool down her chin and the pillow she was just resting her head on. While Sylvia was an early riser, there had been a few select times where she unknowingly drooled away in her sleep. Sighing, Sylvia realized that today was one of those days as she pulled off the pillow cover and went to place the cover in her hamper, as well grabbing a washcloth to cleanse the drool off her face.

However, not everything was planned to go well for Sylvia. Standing up from the bed, Sylvia took a step forward before she lost her footing, and suddenly fell straight towards the ground.
"Owie..." Sylvia mumbled as she pushed herself off the ground and went to brush off the onesie she was wearing free from any possible dirt. Such a thing was unlikely, but Sylvia's mother had bought the outfit for her daughter, and Sylvia didn't want to see her mother upset if it was ruined or damage in any manner at all. Once Sylvia was sure she was stable on her feet once more, she continued to make her way to the hamper, and in turn, the bathroom to clean herself up. Filling the tub up with water, and then bubble bath, Sylvia made sure she was clean--perhaps even spotless--before accomplishing anything else.

Wrapping a towel around herself and a smaller one around her hair, Sylvia turned on the television in her bedroom while she went to brush her teeth. Everything had seemed normal for the daily news and weather forecast, but that had quickly changed with the notice of an interruption. Feeling that the news may be important, Sylvia approached the small television as she brushed her teeth and listened to the announcement. A few seconds in and Sylvia realized what the announcement was--a chance to live the tales of her father and go on adventures as a fledgling trainer. Quickly finishing the rest of her morning routine, Sylvia hastily dressed herself before running down the stairs to the lower floor of the house.

After the descent and as her foot stepped from the last step, it appeared sprinting downstairs was hardly a good idea for Sylvia as she stumbled once more, falling down again. Thankfully, her father had heard the thud--by now used to Sylvia's clumsiness--and approached her, offering his daughter a hand to help her stand up.
"Darling, how many times have I told you it isn't wise to run in the house? I thought you would've learned by now." Her father, Arthur Quinn, explained as Sylvia--once again--brushed herself free of any dirt. "I'm sorry, dad, but I heard the news! Professor Sycamore is giving people the chance to Pokémon trainers, although..." Sylvia exclaimed, looking upwards at her father as if she was trying to ask for his approval just through facial expression.

Her father simply smiled at Sylvia, and patted the top of her head.
"It seems it is time for our chick to leave the nest." Mr. Quinn explained, giving a nod to his daughter. He had always told Sylvia about his adventures as a trainer since she was a wee toddler, and it wasn't surprising if any of it had rubbed off on Sylvia. "However, you'll have to ask your mother as well. I'm sure she'd be worried if you disappeared without telling her about your plans to become a trainer. Go on, she's outside hanging the laundry." Her father continued as the two approached the screen door and stepped outside. The Vaniville air was always refreshing for both body and spirit, and today had been no different. It had the country atmosphere to it, free from the pollution of the bigger cities in Kalos or any of the other regions in the world.

Holding on to her hat to keep it from blowing away in the wind, Sylvia walked over to the clothesline and began to help her mother hang the laundry. It had appeared that her father's Furret held the same excitement that Sylvia had, as the Pokémon leaped down from her mother's shoulders and quickly scrambled its way onto Sylvia like a big fluffy scarf.
"Fur, Furret!" It cried in excitement, snuggling against Sylvia as she reached upwards to hang one of her father's plaid shirts on the clothesline. Her mother looked over in Sylvia's direction with a smile as she took out another shirt and hung it alongside the plaid one. "Mom, remember those stories Dad used to tell me when h-" Sylvia spoke, before her mother stopped her, holding a finger to her lips before Sylvia said anything more.

"I heard the announcement earlier. Admittedly, I'm hesitant to send you out into the world, but you are your father's child after all. If it wasn't today, it would have been some other day that you would ask to go out to have an adventure." Her mother, Eileen, replied, placing a hand on Sylvia's shoulder while Furret climbed down and ran towards Mr. Quinn. "Just remember to call us every once in awhile, okay? Make sure you brush your teeth, and eat a healthy breakfast, and... and... Mrs. Quinn paused, as if she was trying to think up anything that she wanted her daughter to make sure of. Eventually, her mother shook her head and smiled once more at Sylvia.

"Just make sure you stay safe, okay? Don't get into trouble or else you'll worry your mother. We'll be rooting for you the whole way, sweetie." Her mother explained, taking a moment to embrace Sylvia. Her father and Furret soon followed, turning the sweet encounter into a group hug. Sylvia couldn't help but to smile, as her grand journey was just about to begin. However, little did Sylvia know that that adventure would be one of the most eventful undertakings of her life, with the potential not only meet friends, rivals and Pokémon, but also the possibility to change Kalos and herself as it stood.

It has been two days since the announcement had been made. Today is the big day. July 5th. With some more persuasion from Mr. Tyson and a few of the regulars of the store Clyde decided it would give it a try. Becoming a Pokemon is something he had on his mind for a long while now. But never took the extra step needed to reach that goal. Clyde had put a lot of thought into of the possibilities given that he will not find here in Vaniville Town. For insist more hands on experiences. Seeing actual monuments instead of in books. To be able to taste new types of food. Just thinking about the food part made his mouth water.

Since yesterday when he finalized his decision Clyde read through Kalos Region Tour Guide book. As well as a few books on historical sites, Pokemon caring and among other books he had borrowed from Mr. Tyson other business. The book store. He had a lot of free time on his hands. Mr. Tyson told him not to worry about working. If also told Clyde if things don't work out his job will still be available for when he comes back. If he doesn't come back after a week then his position will be given to someone else. Clyde felt partly saddened by the fact but he knew the old man didn't mean any harm in it.

When Clyde got bored of reading he went through a few of things and sorted them out across his bed. His bag open ready for items to be placed inside. Clyde didn't own much. Just a few outfits, hygiene stuff, a few note books, pens and a few random items. Realizing to how little he had Clyde decided to pack everything into his bag. If he has too he will go an buy a few things or in turn get rid of the items he didn't need. Clyde glanced over at the clock. It nearly noon. He better get going. The walk to the south entrance of Santalune Forest is roughly an hour walk from here.

Clyde checked his wallet glancing at the little cash he had on hand. Enough for a meal or two. His bank card was also neatly seating in it's spot in the wallet. He slipped his wallet into the front pocket of the bag. Taking one last look around Clyde attached the bag around his waist. Grabbed the borrowed books before locking the door behind him. The landlord is giving Clyde a year. A year for him to call this place home whenever he chooses to visit Vaniville Town. When the year is up then the place will be rented out for a new tenant. If Clyde chooses not to return. Thankfully Clyde has people looking out for him. Since anything can happen in the near future.

Clyde made his way quietly to the coffee shop. No one was around since it was Thursday. Mr. Tyson comes in later in the day. Thursdays mornings is when Mr. Tyson runs around doing earns for the store. Clyde placed the books back on the selves before slipping out the back door. Clyde found the path that looped around Aquacorde Town. Aquacorde Town is located in between Vaniville and the Santalune Forest. Knowing that this event may attract a lot of people Clyde didn't want to walk through a overly crowded town. Clyde walked a bit on the isolated trail. Vaniville Town fading rather quickly behind him. Soon he was on top of a hillside Clyde glanced back for a brief moment before continuing onto the other side.

Nearly two hours later...

Clyde approached the outskirts of Aquacorde Town. From what he could see in between the buildings people and Pokemon alike crowded the streets just like how he predicted. Clyde walked along the edge of town, completely avoiding going in. Santalune Forest was already in view, but the only way to reach it from here is to cross a bridge. That was when he had no other choice but to enter town. Clyde ducked into an alleyway, stepping over fallen over garbage cans and trash that littered the ground. Clyde peered at the light on the other end of the alley. Within a matter of seconds he stepped through the opening. As he did so someone nearly ran into him as she ran pass him. Luckily Clyde was able to take a step back before impacted. The streets were certainly crammed full. There were a few tents set up as farmers, peddlers, and other business attempted to make some cash.

Clyde nosed twitched at the small of roasting food. His stomach rumbled with hunger. Realizing he hadn't eaten anything today. He looked around but all the food stands were too busy for him to want to approach. He clicked his tongue in annoyance. Thinking maybe he should have stayed in Vaniville Town.

It had been a few days since the announcement. Sylvia's parents had helped her gather all the necessary items needed for an adventure, but her mother kept insisting that she bring the onesie she bought for Sylvia on the journey. Sylvia had felt that it would be embarssing for anyone to see her in that outside of her family's home, but eventually Sylvia caved in to her mother's wishes and packed it alongside everything else. "Berry pouch, check. Extra change of clothes, check..." Sylvia mumbled to herself as she went over the final check to make sure everything was packed away safely. Once assured that everything was in place, Sylvia zipped up the rugged travelling backpack that her father gave as a present, and heaved it over her shoulders.

Expecting it to be heavy, Sylvia was pleasantly surprised at how light it was.
Leave it up to a former trainer to know how to carry their belongings, Sylvia thought, walking over to where her parents were eating breakfast. Greetings were exchanged, and her mother offered a small portable meal for Sylvia to eat if she was hungry later. Embraces ensued, and Sylvia was sent off on her way as they both waved farewell at each other until she took another dive for the ground. Not wishing to worry her parents, Sylvia quickly stood up again and brushed off her knees. Flashing her parents a thumbs up, Sylvia soon took off for her adventure, walking paths she had hardly traveled before.

Walking down the first route was easy, but once Sylvia reached Aquacorde Town, it was crowded as could be. Both people and Pokémon had claimed the city as a whirling mass, and it was nearly impossible to get around as Sylvia struggled through the crowd. A few merchants pestered Sylvia to buy their goods, but she respectfully declined and carried on, hoping not to be late for the ceremony that was to be held. Eventually after a moment of surfing through the busy streets, Sylvia reached the edge of Aquacorde, where the bridge to Santalune Forest had begun. Not wishing to forget this moment, Sylvia pulled forth a camera, snapping a picture of the busy and now festive bridge, and a few of the bustling town to show her parents when she returned from her long adventures. It was good to remember every moment of what was to be her epic, and Sylvia didn't want to forget even the slightest bit.

Clyde stood before the bridge. He can feel a vane twitching above his brow. Do to the bridge being so narrow it was even more crowded than the streets. There was even a Snorlax present. Taking up the center. People literally had to squeeze pass it. Clyde felt a doomed presence hanging over him. He could always swim across. The river didn't seem to wide or too deep. But then again his bag isn't completely water proof. But then again it's not like a bunch of school supplies crammed in there anyways.

Without hesitating Clyde stepped onto the wall of the bridge. Pokemon and people alike witnessing him doing this all had mouths hanging open from the sudden surprise. The river wasn't very far down. So the drop wouldn't hurt much unless there was a rock hidden beneath the water. Oh well, Clyde thought to himself.

Stretching out one foot soon the rest of him followed. He landed in the water in a matter of seconds. And for a brief moment he allowed himself to sink enjoying the refreshing feel the coolness. Before surfacing. The water was deeper than he first figured. And luckily there were no rocks upon entering the water. Clyde swam effortlessly to the other side of the river. Away from the busy town. Away from the crazy crowd. Once on the other side Clyde stumbled out of the water wringing out the bottom of his jacket and shirt.

AS he was doing this he noticed a very surprised girl dressed fancy clothing staring at him. Clyde stared back at her then clicked his tongue in annoyance before disappearing down the path of leading into the forest. He didn't mean to be rude, he was hungry, tired and on the verge of loosing it if he didn't take of the matter soon. If nothing was going by the time he reaches where he suppose be Clyde plans on taking a short nap while he waited for the event to start.

After snapping a few pictures for her parents, Sylvia took a step onto the bridge. It was crowded with the populace of Aquacorde, along with other travelers and businesses that had came to sell their goods or just have a fun time as part of the event. There was also a Snorlax on the bridge, which Sylvia had struggled to squeeze by as she made her way through the crowd. However, the sounds of surprise and confusion were soon looming, and Sylvia quickly glanced around to figure out why the crowd was panicking so much, having gone from a moment of cheer to worry.

To her surprise as well, Sylvia had noticed a tall boy standing on the ledge of the bridge. He had purple hair, and appeared to have the quality of being blind in one eye according to the eye patch he wore. The eye patch had seemed familiar, and Sylvia pondered where she had seen someone with an eye patch back in her hometown. Nonetheless, Sylvia was allowed little time to remember past memories, when the boy lurched forward a foot and leaped off the bridge. Being close to where the boy was, Sylvia was allowed to be one of the few that could look over the edge, and soon breathed a sigh of relief as she saw him resurface without injury.
What a weird kid, Sylvia thought, stepping away from the bridge ledge and continuing her journey. After all, the event had a deadline to be there.

Continuing her push through the bridge crowd, Sylvia finally reached the other side. Looking back to the crowd one last time, Sylvia walked down the path towards the forest. For the most part, her travel was uneventful, until a Scatterbug had fallen from a tree and onto her head. Feeling the sudden movements of the Pokémon's stubby legs on the top of her hat, Sylvia suddenly panicked and took off in a sprint in a moment of surprise. Tripping occasionally, Sylvia was able to catch herself by hanging onto a tree to continue standing on two feet rather than her knees as she continued to run towards her destination, the Scatterbug hitching a ride the entire way.

As a game, the Scatterbugs fell out of the trees landing on whoever happened to be wanting on by. Clyde has heard of certain bug Pokemon liked doing this out just of the fun of it. Since a lot of people aren't fans of bug types. Clyde sighed as he peeled a Scatterbug off the top of his head. Gently placing it down on a nearby rock. He patted the Pokemon's head before continuing down the path. The Scatterbug crooked it's head seeing how his attempt has failed for some odd reason.

This happened roughly five times almost right in a row now. Causing for precious time to be wasted. Though Clyde didn't mind. The Pokemon were just trying to have a little fun. In turn Clyde mood had been lifted each time he could handle a Scatterbug. He has never really touched a Pokemon before. Most of the time wild Pokemon would disappear as soon as you seen them or some of the owners would take one look at him then lead their Pokemon away. After the fourth and fifth Scatterbug landed on him he allowed them to have a free ride. One on the top of his head and the other wiggled it's way to sitting on his bag. Just the girl he had seen before was hurrying passed him. Upon her walking by Clyde could see that she too has been dealing with the Scatterbugs' fun and games. For one was holding tightly to her backpack.

Clyde doesn't think she had realized that she had a little stowaway. To help her out Clyde took wider steps in order to catch up to her. It didn't take much effort for his long legs carried him right up behind her. Clyde quietly reached out to secretly remove the Scatterbug from off of her. Clyde noticed she also had some leaves poking out of her hair. Something tells him that she isn't use to wondering the woods. After removing the Scatterbug and placing it upon his shoulder he decided to help her look less of a fool by removing the leaves. Each time he removed one he would give it one of the Scatterbugs. They then in turn ate them happily. @Poi

Sylvia had continued to run throughout the forest towards her destination while attempting to avoid the falling Scatterbugs. Her father had told her many stories, but he had never prepared Sylvia for a sudden aerial attack from an army of Scatterbugs that leap from the trees. As each Scatterbug dropped from the trees, they also brought a number of leaves rustled free that fell down with them, and managed to end up tangled in Sylvia's long flowing hair. To any onlooker, Sylvia had appeared disheveled, as if the falling Scatterbugs had ruined her appearance Sylvia had tried so hard to prefect early in the morning. In truth, it was her constant nature to fall, where sections of her clothes were spotted with dirt and dust.

The sounds of something quickly trying to catch up to her had only made Sylvia run faster. However, whatever it was that was following her soon caught up, and plucked the Scatterbug free from Sylvia. Turning around to see what it was, Sylvia was greeted with the person that had leaped from the bridge before.
"It's you! The one that jumped off the bridge into the river." Sylvia exclaimed, pointing a finger at him as he pulled leaves out of her hair and fed them to the Scatterbugs that gracefully ate them with glee. It had felt weird that a stranger was suddenly touching Sylvia just to remove leaves from her hair, but Sylvia couldn't get rid of the thought that she had seen this boy before the incident at the bridge.

After a few seconds, all the leaves were freed from Sylvia's mess of hair.
"I suppose a thank you is in order. Thank you..." Sylvia replied, her voice trailing off at the end as she remembered that she had no clue of who this stranger was, other than a few vague memories in the past. "What is your name? I'm Sylvia, and I'm going to become a Pokémon trainer! What about you? Are you going to do the same?" Sylvia asked, tilting her head sideways inquisitively as she waited for the stranger's response.

The girl was very talkative. Clyde listened to her quietly. While rubbing the head of the Scatterbug that was resting on his shoulder. The girl mentioned seeing him jumping off the bridge, thanked him and introduced herself with a matter of seconds. It took Clyde time to process everything. The given time was roughly a minute. He stared at Sylvia before answering. "Probably." Was the first thing that came out of his mouth. "I'm Clyde. Clyde Macarthur."

After he spoke he gently removed each and every Scatterbug one at a time. At first they didn't want to go but eventually after a few soft nudge with a foot they eventually climbed into a tree. And that's where they remained. Hopefully there won't be any more unsuspecting surprises. Having to deal with the Scatterbugs' game it had caused them a shortage of time to reach where they need to be. Oddly enough the announcement said that they were suppose to meet up with the professor at the south entrance. But there no sign of him or anyone else.

Thinking for a brief moment Clyde understood something. This must be part of a test. For them to figure out where he truly is located. The first hint was to start out at the south entrance. Clyde has heard that this forest is some kind of natural maze. He glanced slowly around. Trying to spot some kind of marker. On a tree? On the ground? Nothing. Guess they'll to keep searching until they stumble upon something. Clyde then looked up back at the Scatterbugs. They were still staying put close by. Then another thought occurred to him.

"Do you guys know where the professor is?" He asked them in a loud enough tone for them to able to hear him, but quiet enough not to startle them. Only one of them replied by out of the tree. Landing on top of Clyde's head. He sighed realizing that their game was part of something much bigger. The Scatterbug grabbed a piece of Clyde's hair then tugged on it using it's mouth. The tugging happened to go in the same direction. Not at random.

Trusting the little bug-type Clyde started to walk down the path he presumes is the right way. The path was shadowed since this part was thicker than the rest of the forest. Now he understands. Most people normally take the lighter routes in order to be able to see better. Or some find the darken path too eerie to enter. Clyde wondered in without hesitating. Disappearing into the shadows. Leaving the girl behind. She may or may not follow. He left it up to her to decide on what she wanted to do. @Poi

It was a moment before Clyde spoke, his facial expressions having shown that he had to take a second to process everything Sylvia had said to him. Even then, Clyde had spoke only a few words as his reply, leaving Sylvia bewildered. He must not be a talkative person, Sylvia thought as Clyde finished removing the Scatterbugs from their various holds on the two of them. Looking up at the Scatterbugs that were watching them from above in the trees, Sylvia was surprised that their little feet could allow them to easily hold on to various objects, whether it was clothing or the bark of a tree.

Turning her gaze back to Clyde, Sylvia noticed that he was looking for something. Something had clicked within his head, and Clyde soon realized it had been a test all along. The boy asked the Scatterbugs where the professor was, and one soon fell out of a tree and started to tug his hair in a certain direction, leaving Sylvia behind as Clyde trusted the Pokémon to guide him to the location they were supposed to meet at.
"Hey, wait up!" Sylvia exclaimed, chasing after Cylde as he disappeared deeper inside the forest.

However, luck was not on Sylvia's side. Despite being able to catch up to Clyde and his bug companion, the path was shadowed by thick overgrowth, leaving little for the eyes to see besides darkness. In other words, it was a perfect place for Sylvia to trip and fall repeatedly over her own feet or whatever that was hidden by the shadows.
Come on, Sylvia, you can do this! Sylvia thought, slapping her cheeks as she tried to mentally prepare herself for the incursion into the dark path. If becoming a trainer meant braving the darkness and risking the chance of falling repeatedly on her face, Sylvia knew she had to take the chance and ventured after Cylde and his companion.

Clyde on instinct walked forward. With each step he path felt smooth but yet slightly wavy. He tried to stay at the center of the path for near the edges can be rocks or tree roots ready to trip an unsuspecting person. Despite every thing being shadowed heavily it wasn't hard to see the outlines of his surroundings. Clyde heard Sylvia call out to wait up. He slowed his pace so she would be able to catch up. Choosing not to stop to wait on her.

Sylvia foot steps came closer and closer until she finally right behind him. Clyde then started to walk a little faster not wanting to waste any more time. He didn't need to look at the clock to know they were nearly out of time. It was around noon when he reached Aquacorde Town. It took him a while to get through in order to enter the forest. It took him nearly two hours wandering around forest and having to deal with the Scatterbugs leaping out of nowhere. Just dealing with them took several minutes at different periods of time.

The Scatterbug tugged on his hair again. He nearly had missed the turn they were suppose to go. As he turned about he grabbed Sylvia's hand making her follow so she didn't keep wondering forward. Soon they were on a new path he let go. This path was also wavy. But the terrain started to fill as if there were a lot debris. Every time he took a set he would end up kicking small rocks out of the way. Twigs snapped, leaves crunched. It was only get rougher he assumed. The path was also dimmed with shadows. Clyde had a feeling a ghost type Pokemon could appear at any moment. So far to his relief had come before them.

As she continued to chase after Clyde, the boy slowed down for Sylvia to catch up to him. Following Clyde's path, Sylvia kept to the center of the pathway in order to avoid the various rocks and roots that stuck outwards on the sides of the path. Combined with her ability to trip over nothing, Sylvia kept looking downwards to make sure she was walking where Clyde had stepped to ensure she didn't veer off the path lest she trip and fall, possibly injuring herself in the process. However, the constant desire to look down had lead Sylvia astray, and Clyde grabbed her hand to keep Sylvia from ending up lost in the forest.

The sudden grasp around her hand had startled Sylvia. The forest was dark, almost pitch black as they walked deeper into the forest, and Sylvia had to squint her eyes just to see who had a hold of her hand. To her surprise, Clyde was the one holding her hand, and a red hot blush flourished on Sylvia's cheeks. It was embarrassing to have a boy casually take her hand. especially a stranger to Sylvia such as Clyde. Sylvia was sure she had seen Clyde once before back in her hometown, but they had never spoken until a moment ago.

Regardless of how she felt, the sudden winding and jolting from Clyde leading them had focused Sylvia back on reality. The path was wavy, curving back and forth without a thought of who might travel it. With each step, Clyde kicked debris out of the way, snapping twigs and tossing rocks across the path. What was left was open for Sylvia to trip on, and she did on multiple occasions, tugging on Clyde to keep herself from falling onto the ground while the path only got darker. It had been a perfect place for any ghost or dark Pokémon to lurk, and Sylvia kept an eager eye out searching the forest for any sign of mysterious glowing eyes or spooky noises.

The path was certainly a rough one. Clyde nearly tripped over a large rock at one point. Overtime Clyde would feel Sylvia grasping his jacket as she stumbled, which she did often. This path seemed to be taking them a lot longer than expected. Probably do to all the curves, rocks, tree limbs and so on causing them to take their time. Clyde was second guessing on trusting the little Scatterbug. Who still had a hold of her hair. For all her knows the Scatterbug can be playing a trick on them in order to have it's own. But they have came this far already so what's the point in turning back now.

Eventually the Scatterbug tugged on Clyde's hair again. He halted in his tracks. The Scatterbug then jumped off his head landing on the ground. It let out a call as if saying 'follow me'. Clyde couldn't really see the bug-type pokemon venturing away. So he pulled out his small handheld flashlight from his bag. Switching it on. The Scatterbug was heading into a small cave. It was short to the ground. But wide and tall enough to crawl through. Clyde knelt down before the cave. Shining the light into it. The Scatterbug was waiting just on the inside.

Clyde sighed while putting the bunt part of the flash light in his mouth. Holding onto it with his teeth. So he can be hands free. Without hesitating he started to crawl his way into the cave. Hopefully whatever is at the end of this tunnel will be the end to this little game. But then again this was the most fun Clyde has had in such a long while. Despite it being tiring. @Poi

The path continued to twirl and spin almost endlessly. Each step they took was accompanied by a dark, spooky atmosphere, and the trail was a disaster zone with all the debris scattered all over the ground. Nonetheless, Sylvia kept following Clyde and their Scatterbug companion down the trail. Eventually, the group came to a stop, the Scatterbug alerting them to halt with a tug of Clyde's hair. The Pokémon leaped off Clyde's head, and made a chirping sound, beckoning them forward.

The path still dark and nearly impossible to see, neither of them saw the Scatterbug skitter away down the trail. Thankfully, Clyde had a flashlight in his bag, and turned it on. Flickering on, the light shined, showing that the Scatterbug had gone through a small cave, but large enough for a human to crawl through. Being the adventurous one, Clyde went ahead without warning, and Sylvia was left behind. Eager not to be forever lost in the dark forest, Sylvia knelt down, and began to crawl through the cave as well, although she was forced to push her rugged backpack manually throughout the cavern passage.

Once they were free, Sylvia stood up from the ground and brushed herself off, and then the bottom of her backpack before putting it back on. Looking around, Sylvia had noticed that the two of them and the Scatterbug were still technically in the forest, but where they stood was relatively devoid of trees. The space was grassy, scattered with a few large rocks here and there. However, what was the most interesting to Sylvia was the small crowd forming around a familiar person.
"It seems we've arrived, Clyde." Sylvia replied, digging in her backpack for a treat to give to the Scatterbug, who gladly ate the small squared treat.

It didn't take long for them to reach the other end of the tunnel. Soon the tunnel had ended the Scatterbug ran in a circle in a cheering motion. Clyde turned his flashed light off, tucking it back into his bag. The trees ahead were thinned out. On the other side a field light by the sun. Within that field the professor was standing giving out some pointers to some of the younger kids who had gathered. The teens hang around among themselves. Sylvia worked on brushing the dust that had been kicked up onto her clothes. Clyde glanced over wondering why she was putting the effort into making her clothes look nice again. When it's obvious that they'll get dirty again. Clyde decided to at least brush the dirt off his hands at least. Just in case he had to shake hands with someone. His clothes he can care less.

Sylvia pointed out that they had made it. Giving the Scatterbug a treat for it's deed. Clyde eyed the square treat. His stomach let out a small rumble. And wondered if Sylvia had anymore stashed into her pack. The Scatterbug nibbled away at it's reward. It's face beaming in delight. Obviously enjoying it.

Now that they were heere Clyde felt comfortable leaving Sylvia on her own. If she ran into a situation there will be others to help her out. Without saying anything Clyde stepped through the trees. The light beamed brightly into his eye. He had to shield it for a brief moment until he had gotten use to the sudden change. No sooner he had stepped from behind the trees. A few people stopped what they were doing, in order to check out the new arrival. Some pointed, talking among themselves. Clyde didn't care. He bypassed them acting as if they weren't even their.

Clyde walked right up to Professor Sycamore. A few of the kids who were near him hid behind the professor. Others stared in amazement. This always happens. It's all has to do with his eye patch. A lot of the adults question if he some kind of delinquent. To the kids it either strange or they think he is some kind of pirate. It also doesn't help his height towers most those around him. Eye patch plus towering height to most kids he looks scary.

Clyde didn't say anything at first. Which made the situation more uncomfortable for the younger ones. "Are we late?" He asked in a sleep-ish tone. He heard someone walking up beside him but didn't bother looking to see who it was. He assumed it was Sylvia so he figured to asked for the both of them. Professor Sycamore calmly just stood there. With a small smile on his face. "I apologize for the way we look. A Scatterbug had lead us through an interesting route to get here. And we are late can you please make an exception just this once." Clyde explained still sounding a bit sleepy but his voice took on a more mature tone. Hoping it would help.

The professor raised his hands into the air. Patting Clyde on the shoulders suddenly. Clyde's eye widened in surprise before taking two steps back. He doesn't like it when people randomly start touching him. The professor did't seem to mind can continued on with what he was about to say. "Yes you two are a little late, but only by a few minutes. So there is no worry. I knew that there would be a few who will. Also, you two so far were the only ones who understood the first test." As he was explaining the same Scatterbug that had lead them here started making it's way onto the professor's head. "I had a few of my trained Scatterbugs placed around the forest along with the other Scatterbugs. Encouraging them to partake in a game of leap and scare. This method is to see how many of you can handle it, as well as to " Clyde started to tone out what the professor was saying. Thinking that this guy here sure can talk. And also Clyde already had figured out that this was part of the few tests mentioned.

Knowing now that they aren't late. Clyde let out a deep yawn before turning his back toward the professor. Cutting him off. Clyde made his way towards a tree. He sat down with his back facing it. As his body relaxed Clyde leaned up against the tree. Allowing himself to fall asleep. It maybe wasn't the right time to take a nap but Clyde will be a better mood soon he had about an hour to rest. @Poi
