A jolt of anger, followed by frustration went through him, and for a moment he considered childishly running off. But then the logic hit anger over the head and shame invited them both in for tea and cookies. The bastard. It should be coffee. Maybe that's why he and shame never got along. Outwardly he gave no indication of his emotional storm but he did slow his angry stride down for her. This isn't like me. He realized. Why am I so worked up? Its not like he will be here. At his teammate's wary question, Ferris turned toward her and gave her a wide, thin-lipped smile complete with narrowed eyes, completely at odds with how he was acting earlier. He stopped walking and struck a pose. "Of course I'm 'all right'. I'm your unflappable team leader after all. It takes more then a few bad memories to unnerve me." He said cheerfully. Still wearing a smile, he dropped the pose. "Anyway," He continued, his tone lighthearted and casual. "I have some errands to run today, boring, uninteresting things. While I do that, why don't you go visit with your folks? I'm sure they came today. It'll be far more fun then hanging out with dour ol' me all day." He began to walk away again. He was a good distance away when he hesitated. "Oh and Andromedia..." He began. "...Never mind, forget it. See you later." He waved with his metal arm without turning around. A few steps, he turned a corner and was gone. True to his word, he did have some stuff to do, stuff he had planned ahead to keep himself busy all day, hopefully avoiding running into.. He cut off that train of thought. [@Caasicam]
