Just a note, Ships from OS don't use Subspace communication, as such, they won't be able to pick up a standard Starfleet hail. Just saying that I didn't ignore it, it's just, their scanners thought it was some radiation-spike.

However, Starfleets sensors being far superior would probably be able to discern that their communications are a sort of radio-based communication.
