[@DeadDrop][@ReusableSword] You're right, it is up to the GM. Unless he's appointed you a co-gm, it'd probably be best to stop making assumptions on his behalf about what is/isn't acceptable, the GM is capable enough to point out problems as is. In addition, at no point has it been said that secrecy is a major point in the RP, only that the characters would have kept their powers hidden up until now, and until the GM says otherwise, there isn't a problem with a character having the ability to sense others with powers or even what their powers are. Now, while there's nothing wrong with making comments on how one could improve their character, it's a completely different story saying that a Character should be changed without the GM saying so first. So, it'd be appreciated if you let the GM GM, instead of taking things into your own hands.
I, for one, agree with DeadDrop. While I do think that it's the GM's ultimate decision, I don't think it's out of bounds for someone to ask for a change if they feel that it's going to spoil their experience. And yeah, I do feel that his power can easily become really meta, and I don't feel like it's in the spirit of the roleplay to have a power where you can easily out everyone around you.
