The dartboard analogy is good Cat-Man, and identifying race from visual cues is one of the most incorrect methods of determination, I found these two maps to illustrate this point.

Notice in this 'Race Map' from the 1800s that uses the Caucasoid, Negroid and Mongoloid classification (which was basically all based on phenotypic appearance) The have sub saharan Africans and aboriginal Australians as being the same race (Negroid).

And in this 1994 genetic variation map, which has yellow on one end of the spectrum, blue and purple in the middle and red on the very end. You can see that Africans and aboriginals are actually the most genetically different from each other despite being phenotypically similar. And remember this [b]extreme[/b] difference scale actually only amounts to between 0.001 and 0.0001 of actual human genes being different.
