[@Tybalt Capulet] I think that's a common occurance for people doing Nano. Unless you plan months in advance, you have no way of knowing how the MC or any of the other characters are gonna end up until you actually write them out chapter-by-chapter. 

That's how it was for me last year when I completed my first Nano novel. I mean, I've been doing this for 4 years now, but last year was when I finally reached the 50k goal. I am aiming to do that again this year.
