Welkins listened to Reia as she talked to him. "No everything's fine with Isara now. None of this was your fault." He said gently. She seemed to get it, but still felt bad. She haded him the key to her house and he took it with a small smile and agreed to watching it for her. "I hope you'll be safe." He said gently. "I really care about you and I don't want to lose you." Still feeling a little down he took her hand and smiled. She handed him her number and promised to call can keep in touch. "I'm going to have to hold you to that." He laughed a little to himself.

Reia had to go now and Welkins knew that she did. As much as he really didn't want her to. She came up and hugged him real quck before she left. As she was about to leave Welkins grabbed her hand and pulled her back into a hug. "Be safe." He said low and gentle then let her go. She smiled at him the turned to walk away. He watched until he couldn't see her anymore and closed his door. One the door was shut he walked over and started a bath. The bath was warm and it helped Welkins relax a bit. Once he got in, he leaned back and closed his eyes. He opened them again when he realized that he was tearing up. "What's wrong with me? I never get this emotional about people leaving." It puzzled him for a bit then realized he also never felt this way before about a girl. He realized that he was in love with Reia. This stunned him more than anything and he couldn't move for a bit due to the shock. Why was he in love he just met the girl three days ago. The second he was able to think clearly again, he drained the water and got dressed quickly. Once dressed he grabbed his rifle and ran out the door. He wanted to catch Reia before she left. He didn't want there to be a goodbye but to be a see you soon.

Reia was still seated on the train. She looked at her phone for the time, and the train would leave the station in about ten minutes. She placed the folder back in her bag, figuring she had absorbed enough information for a while. Reia's room on the train was gorgeous, and she knew it was because it had been booked by the Guild. It sported a double bed, a table with chairs and also a small bathroom. The windows gave an excellent view and Reia peered out of the glass quietly from her seat. She remembered then, that even though this trip would take a while, they would probably be serving her dinner, and no one really knew her diet. She still had a few minutes to go mention it to someone, but wasn't sure who to tell. She crinkled her nose and got up, locking the room door behind her with the key that was provided, and then quickly made her way off of the train towards the office again.

The man spoke gently, curious, "Yes miss?" Reia smiled apologetically and began to speak, "I realize that dinner will be being served at some point. Who do I let know about being vegetarian?" The clerk grinned and then nodded in understanding. "Don't worry, they're already aware. Everything has been taken care of, Miss Stone. Have a safe trip." Reia looked at him gently, blushing a little that they had already been informed of her vegetarianism. "Thank you!" She turned gently to head back onto the train then. She felt like they were making a big deal out of her, for some weird reason.

Welkins Ran as fast as he could to the train station. He had to see Reia before she left. He had to know if his feelings for her were true. They must be if he was running so hard to see her. People looked in his general diraction as he passed by, but he didn't stop to say hello or anything. He was on a mission of his own. As he rounded the corner, he saw that the train was still there. 'I didn't miss it.' Welkins though as he started to slow down. Not but a few feet away now he could see Reia standing there talking. "Reia!" He shouted out trying to get her attention. She didn't hear him it seemed since she was just about to get on the train. 'Come on you can shout louder.' He thought to himself and then yelled again. "Reia!!"

Reia turned to look at him seeming a little shocked that he was even there. Welkins finally made it to her and was out of breath. "Reia.." He started, breathing heavly now. "Reia I can't let you go without telling you this." He coughed a little then stood up straight. "I'm in love with you. I don't know why and I don't know how, but I'm in love with you. I know it's only been a few days, but It's just how I feel. I've never felt this strongly about anyone before." Welkins looked at Reia in the eyes and smiled gently. He had no idea how she was going to react to him or even if she felt the same back. Why would she, they just met. This was ridiculous. The second he finished talking, his mind raced and though of all the possibility's that could happen right now. It didn't matter though since he wouldn't know until she said anything.

Just as Reia was about to step onto the train again to leave, she turned her head, hearing shouting. She saw Welkins running at full speed towards her and her eyes widened slightly. What in the heck was he doing? She was sure she hadn't forgotten anything, and her mind went through an imaginary check list. Her brows furrowed and he spoke to her, out of breath. "Reia I can't let you go without telling you this." He coughed a little then stood up straight. "I'm in love with you. I don't know why and I don't know how, but I'm in love with you. I know it's only been a few days, but It's just how I feel. I've never felt this strongly about anyone before."

Reia shifted her attention from Welkins to the big station clock and saw the train would be leaving literally within a couple of minutes. She wasn't sure what to say. She just met this guy. Yes he was sweet, and yes they went on a date. But that doesn't mean she was in love with him. She didn't know anything about him, if she was honest. She tried her best not to sound rude. There was a pressure on her shoulders now that there wasn't before. She liked him, but she definitely wasn't in love with him. She knew that for sure. Reaching out, Reia grabbed Welkins hands gently and began to speak, her words coming out fast but still understandable, "Welkins... I really need to go. And I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound rude. But you can't love somebody you just met..." She looked at him and then winced inwardly. "I'm really sorry. We will talk more when I'm back..." And with that she began to turn to take the step onto the train. She could feel annoyed stares from people on board who were wanting to leave. The station clock chimed and steam puffed up from the small stack at the front of the train.

Welkins watched as the train pulled away. His heart was heavy and he didn't really know what to do. Once the train was off, he turned around and started to walk home. He took his time this time and decided to walk around and try to take his mind off of Reia. Was he in love with her? He wouldn't have acted like a fool if he wasn't. It didn't matter at this point. She was gone and told him what she thought. Regardless it still was going through his head. As he walked home some of the towns people smiled and greeted him. Welkins did his best to be friendly and smile back, but he just didn't have it in him. Instead of walking home right away, he went to the armory and got some more bullets and two new sabers. After buying everything and talking for a bit with the owner, Welkins started to make his way home.

It was dark by the time he made it. There was a small breeze and some clouds in the sky. Tonight Welkins was going to set up on top of his windmill and keep watch of the town. It was something he had been meaning to do, but never got around to it. He knew all about the attacks on the other towns and wanted to be sure no one was going after Galia. If that was the case then he wanted to raise the alarm and try to fend off who all he could. Using the magic in his eyepiece made it much easier for him to see at night. He didn't use it often, but it was always nice to have available to him. Once inside, Welkins made some dinner and then set up everything he needed outside. It was still summer so it wouldn't be to cold, but in the case that it was, he brought a blanket.

For the first few hours there wasn't much happening. Lots of animals and some farmers, but that was about it. It wasn't until around 3am that he saw something out of the ordinary. Someone was scouting out the town and he didn't know who it was. The uniform wasn't anything he had seen before either. The moment Welkins saw the guy, he disappeared. Welkins knew this wasn't good and got ready to run over to the guild masters and tell them about it.

Reia stepped onto the train and the door closed behind her. She closed her eyes and the train pulled out of the station, leaving a probably broken hearted Welkins behind. She sighed, turning to look out the window. He was watching the train pull out, and Reia kept her eyes on him until she couldn't see him anymore. She could feel her eyes stinging with the threat of tears. She had been honest to him, and she really hoped he would understand what she meant. Nonetheless though, it still upset her that she hurt his feelings. She brushed her dress off, and she could still feel eyes on her from the public seating. She squared off her shoulders and headed back to her room, unlocking it and heading in to sit at the table. Before she could even relax, there was a gentle knock at the door and a trolly was pushed into her room with dinner. She wasn't hungry anymore, and a knot was in her stomach instead. But she knew she would need the energy for her mission.

Once she finished eating, she changed into a baggy tshirt and shorts and fell asleep for a while. When she woke up again, she felt groggy and had kind of forgotten where she was. She sat up and looked around for a few minutes, realizing the train was nearly stopped at the station. She knew her way around though, and changed back into the black dress. She put her daggers back into the sheathes, fixed her hair and gathered her things. She looked at her phone for a moment, the time read 3am. She yawned slightly and then decided to send a text to Welkins. She hoped he wouldn't ignore her. "I arrived safely." was all she wrote.

Reia made her way off the train and returned the key to the clerk, smiling gently. The train station stood in the center of the city, so all of the light shone brightly. The city was still buzzing with life, and it was a very short walk to where she needed to go. She shoved her phone into her bag and began her walk. Within ten or so minutes, she was standing outside the huge wrought iron gates of Silvermoon Pier Guild. Being here brought back hundreds of memories. But she wasn't here for visiting this time. This time, she was here on strictly business, and the task was important. She walked through the gates and headed on into the building. The foyer was mostly empty but she managed to find her way to the reception area. A thin woman stood behind the desk, though this woman was much taller than Reia. She looked up from over the top of her glasses and then smiled. Her hair was braided into two dutch style braids, her glasses pink in contrast to the green strands falling down around the woman's face.

"Good morning, Reia. We've been expecting you. Your room is on the fourth floor, dorms quadrant. Good luck tomorrow!" she said, handing Reia a key. This key however was a card style one. You slid it into the thin lock of the door, and it would unlock with the right card. Reia had forgotten that the technology in the city was a bit more advanced than in Galia. She nodded a thank you to the receptionist, and made her way to the dorms. She unlocked the door once she reached it and stepped inside. The room was simple and minimalist. It would be the perfect place to prepare for the task. She placed her bag down near the chair, and changed once again into the pjs. She wanted to do some yoga and meditation before anything. Even though she wouldn't be sleeping, she technically still gained energy from doing those two things. She did a quick yoga routine, one to help her focus and relax. Then sat and thought of nothing for a while. After a bit, she crawled into bed and set an alarm for morning. She would be meeting with someone extremely interesting tomorrow. Or so that's what it seemed from what was written in her folder. Reia then let herself drift off into a deep, dreamless sleep.

Welkins was in mid change when he heard his phone go off. It was a text from Reia saying she made it safely. That was good he was a little worried about it. Once he got this professional guild uniform on, he grabbed his phone and sent a quick text back. "Be safe." He said. No need to worry her while she was on a mission. Once he was all ready, Welkins grabbed his rifle and new sabers then raced out of his house. This was probably the most he had ever had to run in one day. It didn't matter there was a problem and it needed to be dealt with. It took no longer than five minutes for Welkins to run full speed to the guild office. Once there he slammed his hands on the desk and startled Wendy. "Wendy we have a problem. I need you to grab Amleth and the others and have them meet me in my fathers office now."

Wendy looked Welkins dead in the eyes with confution. "Welkins what has gotten into you. It's past 3 in the morning why are you even awake at this time?" She said gently, but alarmed. Welkins just shook his head and grunted. "It's a matter of national security. I've spotted a scout. I don't have time to explain just get the guild masters now Wendy!" He was out of breath and ready to pass out. On top of running around most of the day, now he had to deal with the guild masters at 3am. They were not going to be impressed with him. Wendy just nodded and started to make calls to the other masters and Welkins made his way to his fathers study.

Once there Welkins grabbed a few more chairs and set them up. Kalona was the first to arrive and looked at Welkins. "What the hell? You look like you've seen a ghost." Kalona stopped and looking in concern. "No, but I may have seen what could be an invasion." He finished getting the three chairs set up and then sat at his fathers desk. "We'll wait for Felix and Amleth to arrive before I go more into it."

It didn't take to long for the other two to make it. Amleth seemed tired, but awake enough to hear what was going on. Felix never liked Welkins so he was just pissed. "What's the meaning of this Welkins. You do know it's past 3 almost 4 now." Felix said grumpily. Welkins waited for them to be seated before he started. "Okay since we're all here now I think I can relax a bit. I'm sorry to call you three out so late, but we have a problem. I was finally able to get around to doing the watch that Amleth asked me to do a few days ago and I saw a scout that was not our own in the distance. As you three know I can use magic and can enhance my vision with my eyepiece and I'm telling you I know what I saw. It was a man in a uniform I had never seen before." Kalona and Amleth seemed to get a little uneasy when Welkins was explaining what he saw, but Felix seemed to not really care to much. "Listen Welkins." Felix started. "I know you may think you saw.." Felix was immediately interupted by Amleth. "Felix shut the fuck up. You are the lowest rank here and we know damn well what Welkins is capable of. Just because you don't like him doesn't give you the right to start mouthing off or shutting down what he saw. If this is what we think it is then we have a really big problem."

Amleth really liked Welkins and would always take his side. Even though he was superior to Welkins, he still treated him as an equal. He knew that what Welkins was capable of and could trust him with his life. For this reason Felix didn't like him. "Okay fine." Was all he was able to manage. Amleth stared down Felix then looked back at Welkins. "I'm sorry Welkins please continue." Welkins smiled at Amleth knowing he was his favorite guild master. He was even told that he could take Felix's job if he ever wanted. Again another reason why Felix didn't like Welkins. "Thank you master Amleth. Now as I was saying I think we need to look farther into this or at least have someone on a night watch from now on. We would need four of us to cover all of Galia. I don't know if you guys have any idea's on who, but I will gladly be one of them." He smiled then looked at the other three. Kalona had been silent this whole time and finally spoke up. "Well I agree with both Amleth and Welkins on this one. I think we do need to take this seariously and place a few hunters on watch at night. Welkins you do enough as it is I think you need to get some rest now and again. You can't save anyone if you are tired. I know your father would tell you the same." Welkins knew he would say that so all he did was nod.

Felix seemed to just be annoyed at this time, but saw how the others were so he puckered up. "Alright well I think that we should hold a meeting with all the hunters and teachers tomorrow and see what they thing. We have a few on missions right now, but I'm sure there's still enough. Welkins I know you were just told not to worry about any of this, but if no one will stay up then we might need to take you up on your offer." Welkins nodded again knowing that Felix was only being nice to him now because Amleth got onto him. "Alright well we will reconvean tomorrow. Welkins I want you in your fathers chair tomorrow for the meeting. You saw everything so we are going to need you to explain it again to everyone else." Amleth said and with that got up and wished everyone goodnight. It was to be a long day tomorrow and they needed some sleep. Felix left right after Amleth and gave Welkins the stink eye. Kalona stayed back with Welkins for a bit and talked to him. "I really hope that it's nothing. We can't afford to get into this war." He said gently. "I know Kalona, but if we do then we'll need everone's help." Welkins said then started to clean up. Kalona just smiled then said goodnight.

Reia woke up and got dressed. She slipped on the sheathes, fastening them around her thighs and sheathing her daggers. They sat flush to her skin, and you wouldn’t even guess that she had them under her uniform. She left her bag where it was, but grabbed her book bag and the folder with the info in it. She pushed her black hair from her face, her eyes scanning the address of the place she would be meeting with everyone. She breathed out softly to focus her mind, and let her bare feet press into the ground as she made her way to the church. She wanted to feel as connected with her affinity as possible.

It didn’t take too long to arrive, and she looked at the doors of the church quietly before pushing through them. Father Douglas was there to greet her, and she figured Jax was with the other woman. Reia wasn’t sure how this would go, and she was anxious to get started. “Good morning, Father.” she said gently, her ice blue eyes on his.

Father Douglas eyed the new woman with kind eyes, “Reia! Pleasure to see you. I can read the soul so don’t be surprised that I know who you are. Jax will be with you in a moment. The situation is quite critical I am afraid...and we appreciate all the help we can get.”

Jax spoke up behind him, “Yes we most certainly do. Hi Reia! I’m Jax Kariana, the two lugs over there are Morthos and Roxas. The other members of my team.” Jax was a mess, her clothes were dirty her hair was greasy but most of all she looked exhausted. She was friendly and held an air of authority but her eyes and body language looked rigid. “I assume you have already read over the mission statement. It is a very serious situation, and your affinity is very important during this exorcism. Have you done one of these before?”

Reia eyed Morthos and Roxas gently, and then turned her attention back to Jax. Jax’s tone was completely business, and she looked a mess. She wondered who the woman getting the exorcism was in relation to their group. It didn’t say in the statement. “I’m Reia Stone. And absolutely. I read it over more than once to ensure I had my information correct. I have not assisted with an exorcism before, but I have been told by both Master Kalona and yourself that I could be of great use. What will you need me to do?” she asked curiously, her eyes soft. She could feel Jax’s aura felt stressed and dark. She was worried, Reia thought.

Jax looked at the young woman before her critically, sizing her up. She was short, shorter than Ophelia even and that made her feel a tinge of sadness. She clenched her fists and spoke evenly, “Mostly you just have to make sure that you can hold the soul of..my sister together.” She eyed the boys pushing her hair back from her face, “Performing an exorcism is never generally easy and this is my first time performing one on this grand of scale. We can’t wait though..not when it is as bad as it is so getting help from a third party is the best we can hope for.”

Jax turned to Douglas, “I’m gonna take her up. Please keep watch over the boys. Especially Roxas if he goes into that room they could hurt him too.”

Douglas spoke up evenly, “Be safe my child...and let your God guide you.”

Jax gave him a false smile then turned to Reia, “I think it’s best that you see her before I tell you exactly what I will be doing. Come on.” She walked over towards the door touching Morthos’ hand for a few moments before heading into the hallway towards her room.

Reia followed Jax down a hallway. At the end of the hallway she could see a door. She considered what Jax had said. This was her sister. Reia felt suddenly sick and sad the closer she got to the door. She let out a slow breath and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to create a neutral feeling in hopes it would keep the others calm. She knew these things could go south in an instant, and would try her best to do whatever Jax needed of her. After all, there was not only one life, but two on the line here. “Alright, I’m ready when you are.”

Jax stopped, gritting her teeth as she reached for the doorknob preparing herself mentally. She closed her eyes for a second then opened the door her will strong and her soul extremely confident. She walked in leaving Reia to follow her as she stared at her sister, no weakness in her eyes. She couldn’t be weak. The demon would use it against her, so she couldn’t let it see anything. She spoke evenly, “Hey...sister.”

Reia could feel Jax’s unwavering will and love for her sister. It made her heart full, but also sort of sad. She quickly pushed the sadness away though, and followed Jax into the room. She shut the door behind her, and her eyes came to rest on Ophelia. Her hair was drenched in sweat, and fell down her chest and back in tangled strands, though the parts closest to her face were pinned to the side. She was extremely pale, almost grey looking. Reia looked closer and she took a few steps toward her, and noticed the color of her eyes was taken over by the black of her pupils. Reia’s eyes continued downward, noticing a small bump beneath the shirt that Ophelia was wearing. She looked to be just over 21 weeks pregnant, and Reia ground her teeth together. Finally though, Reia noticed that Ophelia was chained down with pure silver binds. She looked as though blood dripped from her wrists from trying to escape, and Reia kept her expression blank. Her ankles were bound as well, and the chains lead to thick metal hooks.

Just as Jax spoke, Ophelia spoke. But it wasn’t Ophelia at all, Reia figured. “Get fucked,” she said. Reia turned her attention to Jax, but she could feel Ophelia’s eyes come to rest on her face. She inhaled softly and then turned to meet Ophelia’s gaze. She looked horrible. Not something anyone wanted to see, or experience no doubt. It was time to begin.

Jax gave a small smile at Ophelia her confidence unbending, “Such words...I’m gonna enjoy ripping you apart.” She took a step forward, her eyes turning a vibrant green as rune like shapes began to appear underneath her eyes and down her arms, “You feel that demon. It’s fear. Enjoy it.”

She turned to Reia, her expression serious, “Now that you see our situation, be mindful of a few simple rules. Stay in the corners of the room. If what comes out of the mirrors touches you it is going to seriously hurt, not to mention if you get close to her she will bust you faster then you can say, ‘help’. You also see that she is pregnant, the baby is just as important as the mother. Focus your energy on both souls, ignore mine. Even if it looks like mine might break keep your attention on theirs. Do you understand?”

Looking at Jax, Reia simply nodded her head, heading toward one of the four corners of the room. She could very strongly feel the babies’ soul, as well as Ophelia’s. Ophelia’s was a little weaker and harder to locate though. This demon must be very strong. Once she was standing in the corner of the room, she unclipped the cloak from her uniform and placed it on the ground beside her gently. She had her daggers still, just in case. Without a moment’s hesitation, Reia focused all of her attention on Ophelia and the baby. She was physically and mentally prepared for this, knowing it would probably take hours. She would be exhausted by the end of it, that was for sure.

Reia then felt her pupils shift from circles to slits down the center of her eyes, and she forced her own spiritual aura outward, casting it over Ophelia’s body. Technically, any type of white spirit could ward off negative energy. It didn’t have to technically come from someone of God. Reia smiled faintly, feeling her Aura tether itself to Ophelia’s, which in turn attached itself to the baby. Reia breathed out slowly, her eyes unblinking. If you looked close enough too, you could see blue and silver smoke like strands moving in small waves between the two women.

As soon as Reia’s aura attached itself to Ophelia though, her body arched very slightly, as though trying to reject it. But Reia pushed a little harder, forcing the bond to keep.

Jax let Reia get into position and took off her gloves, throwing them to the side as she pulled out a small dagger from her boot. She cut her palm slightly blood seeping out over her pentagram. She took a few steps forward and drew an intricate pentagram on the floor and then reached up drawing another one on the roof. When she was done she licked at her wound to clean it slightly before taking out a small cloth to wrap it up. When she was ready she turned to Reia with with a confident look, “I wish we had more time to learn how to trust each other. Just know that I will not let any demon hurt you okay. We’re a team right now! So do your best and let’s crush this thing.” Jax let out a breath moving to stand in front of Ophelia, but just out of reach, “Let’s begin!”

She pulled off her long black jacket and chucked it over by her gloves. The tattoo’s that sprung up when she talked to the demon began to glow, her cross growing the brightest as she began to speak at first very quietly. Her whispers were Latin, the room turning dark apart from the green glow that erupted from Jax’s tattoos and eyes. Her fingers twisted slightly so it looked like she was holding something. She reset her footing then grit her teeth her words now quite loud as she began to pull, her arms turning rigid as she began to put pressure on invisible wheels. Quite slowly the words on the walls began to glow as well as the newly drawn pentagrams. When the light began to fill the room, the blood began to fade away into a dark blackness. Like a mirror the walls around her echoed the shapes of the figures in the room letting whatever was hidden visible to the occupants. It was as if the room was fading into the black, but you could still see the walls in the mirrors, the truth was visible but only if you looked at the opposite image. Jax stopped the incantation for a minute, “THEY’RE COMING. PREPARE YOURSELF!”

Suddenly Jax pulled her hands towards herself, her head cocking to the side as her eyes locked on Ophelia turning from green to a terrifying red, “I see you. YOU BASTARD. I SEE YOU NOW! YOU SON OF A BITCH! LET HER GO NOW! BEFORE I RIP APART YOUR FUCKING SOUL!”

Reia peered into the mirror like openings on the four walls, and her eyes widened slightly as the demons’ true form was revealed. It made her sick to her stomach to look at, but she needed to keep her focus on Ophelia and the baby. Not only that, she could see how truly bad this was, because the demon was curled around and between the baby and Ophelia’s soul. Suddenly though, the demon looked up toward Reia and grinned, flicking it’s long pointed tongue out toward her. Reia’s eyes narrowed then, and in one quick movement she brought her hands out in front of her, her fingers curling around the threads of her Spirit. She pulled back, the strands gathering in her hands like a rope, and she reached forward again quickly, similar to how someone would use a whip. As she did this, the strands spread out and there was a loud snapping sound through the air.

Ophelia’s head turned to the side quickly, her eyes boring into Reia’s as the snap echoed through the room. “Is that supposed to hurt, you stupid little slut? I could snap you IN HALF!” Ophelia’s voiced contorted into something much more gruesome and guttural, and then she began to laugh.

Jax watched as the creature spoke to Reia and kept her expression neutral, “Ignore it! It is going to say whatever it can to make you angry. You get angry, you get sloppy. Stay in control! You got this!” She lifted her hand towards the demon, “Look at me, fucker. NOW!”

The demon snapped its head over to look at Jax it’s expression cold. Jax took one step closer, as figures began to shift within the dark mirrors. Jax spoke evenly, her voice almost melodic, “I walk the valley of the dark and the light. Choosing no path but the one I build myself. I worship no god but the job. The duty of my faith. You have forgotten the face of your creator. I invoke his punishment as a means to know your name. What is your name demon? By the grace of lucifer’s rage and the fury of merciful GOD tell me your GOD DAMNED NAME?”

The demon continued to laugh again, Ophelia’s face twisting up into something unrecognizable. Inwardly, she was being tormented. All she wanted was to be free and to continue on with Roxas and her unborn child. But this fucker had other plans. Suddenly, Ophelia lurched forward as far as she could, the binds digging down deep into her wrists again, cutting and slicing at the flesh. Blood dripped down her fingers, which curled up into balls, her nails slicing into the meaty palms of her hands. Her voice returned to normal then, and she cried out slightly, the sound weak. She looked up at Jax and with a shaky voice began to speak. “Jax, please know that… I love you…” Ophelia began to convulse then, her lips parting. As she continued to convulse, the demon spoke. “Oh I bet I could love you too, lil Jaxy… You’d like it too.” A wide grin spread across Ophelia’s face, the demon referencing what had happened to Jax long ago. “Maybe get those other boys in here and they can help me out. Come a little closer girly, so I can taste that cunt of yours…”

Jax didn’t move a millimeter as Ophelia pulled at her chains. She twitched slightly as Ophelia’s true voice broke through the control of the demon. She spoke evenly to Ophelia, “Don’t worry honey. I love you too.” Her eyes filled with hatred as the demon continued mentioning her rape and then offering to get the boys into the room. She blinked once, her unbreakable will her strongest weapon, “I walk the valley of the light and the dark. My faith in Etro makes me strong, but my belief in his work makes me stronger. I walk on the bridge of mirrors, looking at two worlds and two beginnings. Your words are evidence of your fear. NOW I SAY IT AGAIN! BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE FURY OF YOUR FATHER! LET THE FIRES OF HELL MAKE MY WORDS STRONG AND THE GRACE OF A PRAYER MAKE MY WILL PURE! WHAT IS YOUR NAME!”

Instantly without a skip, the demon responded, and Ophelia’s back arched, cracking being heard from her spine, “Ask me my name again, and I WILL MURDER THIS INFANT WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT!” As the demon spoke, he reached out and curled his fingers around the baby’s throat.

Jax paused knowing that things could go very wrong if she wasn’t careful. She spoke softly to Reia, “I can’t remove him unless I get his name. You need to increase your power to make sure he can’t touch the baby. He’s weakening. I can see it, but he’s not where I need him yet. Can you do it?” She kept her eyes on the demon, her hair beginning to lift off her shoulders as the figures within the mirrors came forward, long thin scissor like fingers lightly reaching out to rest on the edges of the room. Jax set her footing, her palms rising as the pentagram tattoos on her hands started to spin. She prepared herself waiting for Reia to prepare the child.

“Okay. I can do that!” Reia said to assure Jax. She could see the demons hand around the baby’s throat and an instant burst of anger rushed through her entire body. Kids was one thing she refused to fuck with. She let out a low growl and forced her Aura outward in one huge burst, and a bubble type of sphere made it’s way to surround itself around the baby and Ophelia’s souls. She focused her attention mostly on the baby though, ensuring it was completely consumed in her Spirit.

Jax could feel Reia amp up the spiritual energy in the room. Her soul even felt a little lighter. Jax set her blood red eyes on the demon her voice filling the room, “I walk the valley of the light and the dark. I fear neither Hell’s coal’s or Heaven’s beauty. I take the road of the traveller. The road that leads to both death and love. I Invoke the wisdom of Etro, but my faith lies in myself. I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN DESTINY. I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN ROAD. THE MASTER OF MY WILL. BY THE POWER OF GOD’S GRACE, AND THE FURY OF YOUR FATHER I DEMAND YOU SPEAK YOUR NAME. MY NAME IS JAX KARIANA, THE EXORCIST OF BOTH WORLDS! NOW GIVE ME YOUR FUCKING NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Ophelia’s body stopped convulsing. Her body was drenched, her clothes stained from it. She sat completely still for a moment, her eyes closed. Reia watched closely. She wasn’t dead. But just as Reia thought that, Ophelia’s left arm lashed forward. The sound of metal breaking sounded through the room, and the chain that held her arm down broke in half. She reached out, her hand wrapping around Jax’s leg. But the demon wasn’t able to keep from speaking, the combination of Spirit and Jax’s words cracking him. “GEMINI!”

As soon as the true name of the demon left it’s mouth Jax slammed her hands together, a violent wind blowing up from the ground, as suddenly hordes of soul rippers slammed into the room, brushing past Reia and Jax to slam into the demon. Jax could feel Ophelia wrap her hand around Jax’s leg. She gasped, screaming in pain as she felt Ophelia clench violently against the muscle. She increased her power, blood beginning to drip from her eyes, nose and ears. The pain in her leg was so strong she felt she was going to collapse but over time she felt Ophelia release her. The demon’s screams filled the room as the soul rippers went to work. There long black bodies bit and clawed the demon violently, black blood spewing around the room. Jax began to speak in latin demanding full control of the soul rippers, “Dimittis me in mortem animam ad vincendum conferunt ex eorum petendi GEMINI ad festum. Exterminabitur anima eius serviat renascuntur iterum duos mundos ligula. Benedicamus Patrem et animam fiat pauperum. Ut caritas vestra sensit. Aritas vestra sensit.”

Jax kept talking, her demands strengthening her magic, but her limit was coming, and every part of the demon must be removed for the exorcism to work.

The sound of the demon screaming could be heard from Ophelia’s mouth, but the sound faded from his voice to Ophelia’s. By the time the demon was expelled, Ophelia’s voice was gone. Reia’s eyes focused on the demon as it was being banished and destroyed, noticing very clearly it still had a slight grasp on the baby. With the destruction of it, the baby’s heart stopped beating. An intense cramping burned through Ophelia’s stomach, and blood began to drip down her legs at a decently rapid pace. Ophelia leaned forward, placing the free hand palm side down on the floor beneath her, she was extremely weak, unable to speak, and knew something was very very wrong. Before she could pinpoint what was wrong, blackness surrounded her and she fell into a deep unconscious sleep state.

As soon as the soul rippers had taken all of the demon Jax fell to her knees, her palms outstretched as she began to close the gates. She grit her teeth unaware of her surroundings or what was happening to her sister as she forced the creatures back into their mirrors. The door behind her was fully clear, the blood on the walls untouched.

Before Reia could react to the death of the baby, father Douglas entered the room slightly. He motioned Reia to come to him, and she did as she was told. She knew that Jax needed to recoup, and they would need to deal with Ophelia and the baby, something she wasn’t trained in at all. Tears began to spill from her eyes and her breathing became uneven. She was guided by father Douglas to where the boys were waiting, and she stopped just briefly in front of Roxas. She could tell he was the father and the lover of Ophelia due to being able to see their bond. “I’m so, so sorry…” was all she managed between sobs. She tried her best but it wasn’t enough. Once she was outside of the church, a carriage was waiting to bring her back to SPA. She cried the entire way there and collapsed into her bed before falling asleep, exhausted.

Welkins didn't get much sleep that night. He was far to worried about what was to come. The scout, the possibility of a war, Reia gone. It was all getting to him. Most of it was that his father wasn't around and in times like this he would always look to his father for guidance. 'This was going to be a long day.' He thought to himself. All night once he had gotten home, Welkins had started to write notes on what to say. There wasn't much he could say that he didn't the night before. This was going to be big and he didn't want to mess it up.

Once Welkins finally got ready, he started to make his way to the guild. On the way he spotted Isara who seemed to be walking in the same direction. "Hi Welkins." Isara said gently. "I hear there's going to be a huge meeting for all the teachers and hunters today. What's that going to be about?" She looked at him with soft and longing eyes. Welkins was to distracted to notice though. "Yeah." He said bellow his breath. "Something as come up and we might have a big problem." He left it at that and continued on.

As the two made it to the main building, Amleth was standing at the front doors waiting. All he did was look at the two and waved them in, showing them where to go. Welkins was starting to get a little antsy as he was slowly approaching the lecture theater. He had no idea what was going to happen.

Reia woke to the sound of her alarm. She rubbed her face slightly and looked around the room. She still wore the same outfit from the day before, and her body was extremely sore. Her head was pounding, probably from all the crying she had done. She was also extremely famished. She looked at the clock which stood on the nightstand, and she figured she would only have enough time to pack her things and get to the train station. She would receive her pay straight into her account from the guilds, and wouldn't have to worry about that. Slowly, Reia got up out of bed, brushing her clothing out and straightening her hair. She brushed her teeth and packed up her things into her bag. Once she packed everything, she make a mental list of anything she may have forgotten, and went around and checked each part of the room. Finding nothing left, she made her way downstairs to the main foyer. The peppy woman she had met the night before wasn't there, and so Reia silently returned the room key and headed outside.

Once on the train and in her assigned room, she grabbed a clean outfit and went to shower, ordering some room service while she did so. Once she was clean, dry, and dressed, her room service arrived and she ate quietly. Her body was still aching, but felt a little better after having been under the hot water of the shower head. She wondered what was going on back home, and decided to text Welkins that she would be home in a few hours. It was still very early in the morning, and by the time she would arrive she figured he'd be doing something. For the rest of the ride home, she slept. She still was tired, and knew she would have to get right back to her studies once she arrived.

Finally the train came to a halt at the station, and Reia got off with her bag. The walk to her house was a bit, but she figured the fresh air might do her some good. She only wanted to go home first before heading to the Guild, so she could drop her bag off and look over the house. Quickly and without any interruptions, she made her way home and dropped her bag off. Everything seemed to be in place, and a while later, she arrived at the Guild. She pushed the doors open and was immediately greeted by a man who seemed to be ushering people toward a lecture theater. She followed his instructions, heading into the big room quietly. Her eyes grazed the crowd, and she spotted Welkins and Isara next to him. A pang of jealousy washed over Reia, and she frowned, immediately pushing the feeling away. She found a spot at the back of the room and sat down. She saw Kalona at the front of the room, and there was a tension in the air that you could cut with a knife. Something bad must have happened.

Once everyone was seated into the theater, everyone went quiet. They knew that something had to be wrong. All three guild masters were seated on the stage waiting for there to be absolute silence. From right to left it was Kalona, Amleth, and then Felix. Felix still had that shitty look on his face that he had the night before. He was not impressed at all with the situation. After a few minutes, Amleth stood up from his seat and started to talk into the mic. "Thank you everyone for coming on such short notice. I realize that it's early and that a lot of you are still tired, so hopefully we can make this quick. As you all know there is a war basically knocking at our door. We have just gathered intel as of late last night that our town has been scouted out by what we think of as the enemy. Now we don't know exactly what is happening yet, but we don't want to take any chances. In response we area going to ask a few of the more experienced hunters to keep watch day in and day out around the perimeter of the town." The crowd started to rumble a bit to Amleth's words. Murmurs could be heard and people were starting to freak out a bit.

Isara looked over at Welkins with a worried expression. "What do you think is going to happen?" She said gently trying not to let her voice shake. Isara was a tough person, but even the thought of having to go to war raddled her too. Welkins didn't answer and just looked up at Amleth, waiting to hear what he had to say next. Amleth didn't say anything though. He just sat down and Kalona got up to speak. "Now I know this is alarming to a few of you, but you must rest ashure that this could be nothing. We don't want to take the risk and as Amleth was saying we need to keep a tighter guard. We will be going to the more experienced hunters for this so those of you still in class can count yourselves out on this one. We don't have anything against you, it's just that we want the higher ups to deal with this. With that in mind you all still need to keep up your marks and do well. That is all."

Kalona had a powerful voice when talking. It was rare to hear anyone talk over him. He was the first to leave though followed closlly by Amleth. Felix stayed for a bit only to look at Welkins and scowl at him. Welkins paid this no mind, like always, and started to leave the theater. Isara left too, but in a differen't direction. As he started to walk out, he caught sight of Reia sitting in the back. As seirous as everything was, seeing her face made him smile. He ran over to her as quickly as he could then stopped. "Hi." He said to her, smiling gently.

Reia listened to the Guild Masters speak, paying the most attention to Kalona. His eyes met hers while he spoke for a brief moment, acknowledging that she had returned safely. Once he finished speaking, Reia waited for the theater to empty out before even considering standing up and leaving. She watched Welkins get up as well as Isara, but Isara left in a different direction. Reia wondered if Isara planned to leave her alone now. Women were unpredictable sometimes though. She shrugged inwardly and then Welkins was suddenly in front of her.

"Hi." he said. He was smiling. She wondered how he felt after what she had said to him the last time she saw him. He was probably more distracted with the fact Kalona thought that they may be on the brink of war. She was still sore and tired, so she simply stayed seated for a minute. "Hello," she spoke softly, just little more than a whisper. Her skin was pale, and she just really wanted to get the day over with so she could rest again. She would probably need to speak with Kalona about her mission details, and would go do that after she finished talking to Welkins.

"So, War huh? Just like you said. Do you really think that patrolling the area more will do anything?" She was curious as to what Welkins really thought about the situation, and her eyes watched his face.

Welkins didn't have much time to spend with Reia right now, even though he wanted to. He had to go with Amleth and Kalona to talk about what was going to happen. "I have no idea what's going to happen but I just hope it won't be to bad. I cant stay long though would you like to come tonight and have dinner with me and we can catch up on the ladt day?" He smiled even though his heart wasnt in it right now. As much as Reia took his mind off of most things, this potential war scared him. He waited for her to reply before hr left.

"I have no idea what's going to happen but I just hope it won't be too bad. I cant stay long though would you like to come tonight and have dinner with me and we can catch up on the last day?" Welkins said, smiling again.

Reia could tell he didn't feel as happy as he was letting on though, and she tilted her head to the side slightly. She figured she wouldn't say anything in regards to that though, since she knew that he was probably extremely worried about this situation. He seemed to be very in tune with his job.

"Dinner sounds nice, I'll see you then." She smiled softly at him, hoping that her calmness would help relax him. Finally she stood up, despite being so much shorter than Welkins, so she could be more face to face. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek slightly, before turning to head to her classes. She would need to make up for the day before.

Welkins wasn't expecting Reia to kiss his cheek. It really took him by surprise and sent a shiver down his spine. Not a bad feeling, but not one he was used to at all. He watched as she turned and left the other way, then started to walk to Amleth's office. It wasn't to far from where the lecture theater was, but with all the people in the way either leaving to meet with Kalona or just running to classes, the halls were hectic. After waiting and pushing a little, Welkins finally made it to Amleth's office. It didn't surprise him that he wasn't there yet. There was probably a lot of questions being asked and whatnot. It didn't matter to much if Amleth was late or not. This was a big deal and he didn't want anyone to be overly freaked out.

Not but five minutes later Amleth came in. "Sorry for the wait Welkins. It's pretty crazy out there." Amleth gave a weary smile then went to sit at his desk. "All right now I'm not going to waist your time so I'm just going to cut right to the chase. I know Kalona said he didn't want and students to help out with this, but if it wasn't for you we wouldn't know anything about this. Felix doesn't think that this is a big deal. He's probably just mad that you are that one who grabbed this data. We all know he has something against your father and naturally that means you too. At least in his eyes. But that's besides the point. I wan't you to keep doing what you're doing and keep look out at night. I trust the hunters to do their jon, but no one has that eye like yours." Amleth always like praising Welkins and it was always nice to hear it, but this was going against Kalona and even though Amleth didn't answer to him, it was still a scary thought to go against his wishes. "Now I know that this isn't what Kalona wanted, but I really think that we need you too. You don't have to say anything right now. The offer is on the table. Just give me an answer before tonight okay?" And that was it. Amleth nodded his head and let Welkins leave without letting him say a word.

Obviously he was going to say yes. The town meant a lot to him and now that he had someone he wanted to impress, Welkins wanted to protect it and her more than ever. Now wasn't the time to think about that yet. It was almost time for weaponry and he couldn't wait to see Reia again. Regardess of what happened before she left.

Reia slowly made her way to weaponry and sat at the back of class. She just really wanted the day to be over, or at least to eat or drink something that might give her her energy back. She covered her mouth slightly, hiding a yawn. She wasn't sure if Welkins would be coming to class today, knowing he had a lot on his plate. After a few minutes, she watched him walk in, and waved very slightly.

Welkins made his way into the class room and saw Reia sitting already. He noticed that she had waved at him and he waved back. Sliding his way past the other students standing around and talking, he finally made it to the table Reia was at. "Sorry we didn't get much of a chance to talk earlier, I had to go see guild master Amleth about something." He looked at her slightly and smiled. "So how was your mission? you look exhausted." She did though. It looked like she hadn't been able to sleep a wink in the last day or so. Something must have happened and he almost regretted asking. If it was bad he didn't want her to have to relive it by talking to him about it. "You know what, don't worry about it. It's your business and you dont need to tell me." He smiled again and took her hand slightly to show that he understood and she didn't have to say anything.

Reia watched as Welkins entered the room, and he waved back at her. He sat down, noting that she looked exhausted. He asked what happened, and she almost started crying right then and there. She lowered her head slightly so her forehead rested in her hands, and she breathed deep and slow to try and stay calm. "I'll tell you over dinner. It's not a topic for class," she said softly, her voice shaky. Welkins then took her hand and tried to comfort her. She clenched her teeth together to hold back tears and then cleared her throat. She almost felt the need to be excused from class, and she wanted to speak with Kalona as well. She wasn't sure though what class held today, and was willing to wait and see before she decided to stay or go.

So far it seemed they would just be working on written work, history of weapons, and other. That was something she could do later on in her own time. She stood up slowly from the table again and looked at Welkins. "I need to go speak with Master Kalona. I don't think I'll be returning to class though. Do you think you could take notes for me so I can get them from you later?" Reia leaned forward and kissed Welkins cheek quickly, her lips barely touching his skin. She left some of her paper on his desk so he could use it for notes, and then turned to leave the class. She smiled very faintly at the instructor, and he simply nodded and allowed her to leave.

On her way up to Kalona's office, she considered what she was going to say. There were many thoughts going through her mind, and before she knew it she was face to face with his office door. Before she could knock, the door swung open and she blinked slightly. "Come in Reia. We have much to talk about," Kalona said, an understanding smile spreading across his face. Reia nodded and stepped inside, Kalona closing the door behind her. She could feel him standing behind her for a moment, and his height made her feel inferior, but she was used to that. Kalona however, was intimidating in every aspect of the word.

Reia waited for Kalona to sit at his desk, and she took in the features of the room again, still amazed by how gorgeous it was. A gorgeous room, for a gorgeous being, she thought. She sat down in the chair on the other side of his desk, and curled her legs up slightly. "Congratulations on your first mission here. I trust things went well?" Kalona asked curiously, though Reia wasn't sure if he was asking because he already knew and wanted her opinion, or because he was genuinely curious how it went.

"Yes sir, things went as well as they could, I suppose. There was one casualty though. But I tried my best, and ensured the safety of Ophelia," she said, her voice sounding strained. She knew she didn't need to say much else about the situation. Kalona would understand. "I see. Well done. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. Either way I trust you will be a great asset to us here. I'm sure you've heard by now that we are setting up extra precautions due to Welkins spotting a possible spy. I can ensure you though, things will work out. Your payment will be in your account by noon today." he added. He looked at Reia with an intensity that she couldn't look away from. She noticed she was holding her breath, and breathed out slowly. Kalona's normal smile turned into one that was much more cheeky, a crooked half smile. Reia's eyes widened for a moment and then she managed to look away, shifting slightly in her seat.

"Master Kalona, was there anything else you wanted to speak to me about? Or should I get going to class?" Reia didn't mind his intensity, but she wasn't used to it really. Kalona stood up then from his desk and moved around to the front of it, leaning against it slightly, looking down at her. "Reia, your grades are fantastic. I'm sure after your time at SPA you could use a couple of days off of school. Take some time to recover, and come see me again when you feel better. I'll ensure I gather all of the things you've missed."

"Are you sure that's okay? I'm sure I can handle it," Reia tried to argue, but Kalona cut her off. "Enough. Now go home and get some rest, focus on yourself for a while..." Reia didn't bother trying to fight him on this. He was the Head Master after all, but the way he said the last bit of his sentence made her blush, whether it was meant that way or not. He handed her a note to give to her weaponry instructor. "Yes sir. Thank you," she said, a gentle smile playing across her lips. She got up, brushing off her outfit to keep it wrinkle free, and headed to the door. She could feel Kalona's eyes on her, and she pulled the heavy door back and stepped outside, closing it behind her. She let out a deep breath when she knew she was out of his eyesight, and shook herself out. What a weird interaction. She wanted to find Welkins and tell him she was being sent home. The conversation with Kalona didn't take any more than half an hour, so she figured he would still be in weaponry.

For some reason now, despite everything that had happened the day before, Reia's mood was lifted after speaking with Kalona. She finally made her way to weaponry. Without knocking, she entered the room and walked over to Welkins, "I've been ordered to take a couple days off of school. Are we still on for dinner?" The blush was still apparent on her cheeks, and she waited for his response. When he finally responded, she brought the note from Kalona up to the front, handed it off and disappeared out the door, heading toward her house.

Welkins noted as Reia left she was almost about to cry. 'Well now you've done it.' He thought to himself. When she left, he hardly payed any attention to the class. He already knew it all. The only think on his mind was that if Reia was alright or not. It felt like forever until she had returned. It looked like she had felt better and she was blushing. He briefly wondered what happened to make her blush like that. A surge of frustration corsed through him, but went away when Reia asked if they were still on for dinner. "Of course we are." He said smiling at her then watched as she left again. Another boring day at class like usual. Regardless he still did the work.

Once class was over he didn't even bother to go to his fathers study. He knew he wasn't back and there was nothing else for him to do. On his way out, Welkins spotted Kalona talking to Wendy. He didn't really want to talk to him at all so he tried to walk past. Didn't work. Kalona spotted him and started to walk him way. Welkins gave him a bit of an evil eye, but looked away. He was not someone you wanted to get mad. "Welkins." He said. "Good job last night I wasn't able to properly congratulate you." Welkins stopped and looked Kalona in the eye. "Not a problem just doing my job. Say Kalona when can we sign up to be sent into battle or do some scouting at least. I feel like my skills might be better used on the battle field." Kalona just smiled and laughed a bit. "Don't worry Welkins, we already have people on that you don't need to go." This pissed off Welkins a bit, but just left it alone. "Okay thanks." Was all he said and then left to go home. He wanted to get a head start on the dinner and cleaning up his house a bit.

A few hours later, Reia woke up from a deep sleep. She got up and fixed her hair and changed her outfit into something more appropriate for dinner time. She decided not to waste any time with heading over to Welkins. It was about 6:30 pm, and she yawned softly despite having just woken up. That mission took a lot out of her. She hadn't had to use her powers in full force for a long long time. Within a few minutes she was standing outside the front door of the cute little windmill, and the look of it in the coming night made her smile. She knocked three times on the solid door, and then waited. Once it was opened, she stepped inside. She moved so the door could close, then turned to face Welkins, and hugged him. Since she was so short, her arms wrapped around his waist, and her head rested against his chest slightly. Once she let go, she looked up at him.

"Hi. I'm sorry I left during class today. Kalona suggested I take a couple days to recover..." her voice trailed off slightly, but she still was smiling. She just had to come to accept that the death of the unborn child was not her fault. But that would take a while. She wanted to know how things with Welkins went once she left town. She felt a pang of guilt then, at what she had told him before getting onto the train. but she still stood behind what she said. She didn't believe in "love at first sight" or whatever people said. You had to get to know someone, truly, to love them. At least that's what she thought, and that's what made sense in her mind.
