Can Do Attitude * Stubborn * Loyal * Fiery Temper
Sexuality:Bisexual
Relationship Status:Single
Personality: Miranda chooses what she wants others to see when it comes to her personality. To adults, Miranda is a sweet intellectual that is simply misunderstood and really aspires to be the best person she can be. She is an approachable person and is usually seen as kind, open and honest, though she is a girl who usually knows more than what she lets on. However, to those closest to her, they know Miranda to be the kind of person that is willing to get her hands dirty when it comes to getting things done her way but is loyal to those who do right by her and looks out for her friends even if it just to listen or be a shoulder to cry on, she can become protective over those she deems closest to her.
She is a confident and fearless individual who doesn't believe she really has anything more to lose than she already has, having taken up a "tough girl" persona to help shield the vulnerable pieces inside of her that were created once James became involved with a bad crowd, and then later left her without a word. Because of this early-on exposure to abandonment, Miranda tends to keep strangers at a safe distance, making it incredibly difficult for anyone to see the real her that is somewhere still inside. To her, trust takes time and can take up to months to gain someone's friendship per her standards, as she is afraid that they might end up leaving her just as her brother did, Just don't break it.
Growing up learning how to be a stubborn and determined individual, Miranda can also be a little foolish when it comes to making decisions, not always able to see the solution that is staring her right in the face. She tries to keep a strong idea of what is right and wrong, but oftentimes overthinks things that sometimes leads her down a wrong, and accidental path.
A dense lover of music, Miranda is likely to listen to a wide variety of genres. She has realized that her taste in music for what she is in the mood for generally revolves around where her own mood is at, and gets lost in the lyrics of certain songs that speak to her on a level that no simple words can even begin to breach. It is not uncommon to see Miranda alone in her room, looking into things supernatural as she is fascinated by it or listening to her music and drawing - both activities that keep her calm and from doing anything irrational that she would later regret.
Habits: Miranda has a habit of fidgeting while seated, most common of this is bouncing her leg repeatedly or slightly move it from side to side. This is a common thing she would do when nervous, worried or frustrated. Shaking a pen while thinking or mind wandering is another habit of hers when writing poems or drawings to attempt to clear her mind.
Miranda often has a habit of going off for long walks or a jog when things really get to her. Often ending up at the lake relaxing at it or taking a swim as a coping mechanism. Sub consciously Miranda has a habit or running her hand through her hair from time to time.
Hobbies: Miranda is perfectly happy doing anything and everything so long as she can be with her friends and family. Aside from that, however, Miranda fully enjoys swimming, whether it be in a lake or a pool (and especially the ocean). She absolutely loves music and has a habit of singing songs out loud that are stuck in her head - she has even come up with a few lyrics of her own when bored, but doesn't believe them good enough to give any more attention to.
Though she might not seem like the type to some, Miranda also enjoys fixing things, and spends quite a bit of time with her father in restoring things around the house that need updating. She isn't very good at it, but the bonding time she gets with her father makes it absolutely worth it, and the knowledge she gets on how it should be done stays in her mind for later use when she might have to have someone else do it for her.
On the smaller side of things, Miranda also enjoys drawing, writing poems or lyrics, and singing or dancing in the rain. She is her own Broadway musical in the shower.

Life In Red Lake: Miranda was born the second and final child of the Burke family. The family name, in itself, has a reputation all on it's own as the Burkes have lived in Red Lake for generations, and have left a positive impact in almost everything that they do. They were a peaceful family, trying as they might to contribute positively to society and continue the legacy that was their namesake. Her father is an electrician while her mother was a manager of one of the local convenient stores. But then Miranda's older brother, James, decided that he didn't want to abide by the family rules any longer.
Miranda and her older brother James had always gotten along so well. She knew he loved her when he chose to play with her instead of his friends or always invited her along with them. she took a 'tough girl' persona as a defensive tool to keep strangers and bullies at a safe distance, it was actually quite funny and cute sight behold. It was only just a few years after she hung with her brother did she realize just how protective he was of her when one of his friends, had his attempt at flirting with her. It wasn't until Miranda grew into a woman did she realize why it was that she never really saw that particular friend again.
But suddenly, James began to grow distant of her. He never seemed to want to talk with her, or invite her out, or even be in the same room as her in general. He was getting into trouble getting into the wrong crowd, this caused arguments within the family household. It broke Miranda's heart, forcing Miranda to change her personality to fit one that she knew he might pay attention to. She became tough, and all around uncaring of just about everything. She wanted his attention so badly, she oftentimes forgot where the real Miranda was, and where the fake one began. However, her friends, especially her closest friends came to help her.
But the more defiant Miranda became in order to gain his attention, the more she began to believe that she didn't need him - that she didn't need anyone. Fortunately, persistence paid off as Riley and Olivia broke through the defences to help get the Miranda back to her ‘real’ self, especially when her Brother was arrested. But a sudden sense of independence suddenly sprouted from the young woman and as she grew and moved out of the family home, she came to realize just how different personalities could affect people in particular ways.
So she began to practice different personas in order to get close to people at an arm’s length, gather information, and then use that information in order to keep herself safe. All the while, Miranda is still completely clueless that she uses this "defence mechanism" to shield herself from the hurt her brother brought upon her. Miri was soon back to herself and is thank full for the friends she has, until the brutal murder of the Mayor and sudden disappearance of her bestie Riley which has really affected her.
Thoughts On Riley Walker: “Riley was my first real bestie, we grew up together and were inseparable, we did everything together and loved hanging out at the lake god knows how many times, Ri means the world to me as she is like a sister... It kills me every day knowing she is missing... I just want her to come home.” Riley and Miranda were always hanging out with each other, growing up together only being a year apart in such a small town, normally where there was one, there other was always nearby. Her disappearance has effected Miranda greatly and just wishes for her girl to come home alive and well.
Thoughts On The Murder: “To be honest, I really didn’t like the guy, there was always something shady… or at least felt off with him, I had nothing personally against him until he somehow won the election. I don’t understand how someone like him beat a man that even my family well respected and voted for, he did a lot more for this town than this Ryder guy… But saying that, even if he rigged the election that murder of him was brutal and made me sick to my stomach.” Miranda left no secret that she did not like Ryder, mainly for the fact that she believed he rigged the election against the Johnson’s of whom like her own family, have been a part of this small town for generations. She couldn’t stomach seeing the brutality of the murder though and it made her sick someone in red lake could do such a thing as no one deserved that kind of punishment.
