I plopped this in the Advanced Interest Check, but it didn't get as much attention I'd hoped, so I'm hoping some more people will drop by and check it out here. It's probably going to be something like High Casual.

Basically:


These ideas would be heavily dependent on whether or not people are familiar with the SnK manga, or just the anime. I'm going to present a general idea, for the manga readers, and for the anime watchers. They will be summaries until I can see whether there are more anime or manga watchers/readers. Then I'll flesh everything out.

I've already read the manga out till the very latest issue and watched all of the anime. I'll have the manga ideas in spoiler tags for those who are not up to yet (if there are any spoilers at all. I'll try to be very general).

So: We create Original Characters! Yayyyyy!

Plot:
We're a new set of cadets in our first to fourth years of training, meaning our characters vary in ages from 11 to 14. These are the 105th, 106th, 107th, and 108th Trainee Squads. None of them will have a top ten, as they are all just starting out in their respective years of training. This means that if the 105th had made it to the end of the year, they would have been ranked a top ten.

But that's not going to happen. The students are, one by one, being randomly picked out to fill up the desperately needed spots in the dwindling numbers of Stationary Guards and Survey Corps...You're lucky if you get picked for the Stationary Guards...but those are not our characters.

The odds were not in our favor. (Sorry I had to do it.)

All of our characters will have been picked for the Survey Corps.

All of them had the potential to be top tens...and that's why they were picked.

This is all under the orders of Military Leader Darius Zackly, who could give less than two you know whats for the King's Military Police. All he cares about is knowing that the Stationary Guards have enough people to fool the common citizens into believing that they are protected, and that the Survey Corps have enough skilled people to continue divulging into the mysteries of the Titans. That is why you were picked. Darius Zackly sought out your instructors, asked who were the strongest, and had you all placed in the Survey Corps. Supposedly kidnapped in the middle of the night, you disappear and wake up finding yourself face to face with this majestic man who tells you, you have to serve in the Scouting Legion. Threatens you and you families, if you have any. And with no other choice, you accept. Your skills, which some of you had hoped would have allowed you to become a part of the Military Police, have instead caused you to be forcibly placed into the Survey Corps.

Now this divides two ways:




IMPORTANT THINGS:
1. Only 3 out of possibly 20 characters will be Titan shifters. One of my characters will be a Titan Shifter, meaning only two spots are left open. I may bump this up if it seems unreasonable.
2. This rp will be dark. Not vulgarly dark, for example, no horrible triggers. But it should definitely be more mature.
3. No Japanese/Asian/Indian/Anything from the are of Asia, names. Remember, Mikasa is the last of the Oriental race (and she's mixed and we've never even seen a South Asian), but it would most likely break the logic of the manga to do such a thing. Anime/manga, yes, but it mostly deals with Caucasian characters.
4. For an anime, it is intensely realistic. Nonexistent hair and eye colors are out of the question.
5. I will rp the series actual main characters using another account of mine (if we need them), so things don't get confusing. When they have in depth roles in a plot, I want to keep them separate from the account I'm using to rp my mains. So during those points, I will use another account.
6. I am only open to accepting up to ten rp'ers who would be able to have up to two characters at most, starting out, and more later on if its even needed. That's a potential twenty characters, so it is quite A LOT. Also if your character dies is completely up to you. I know some people like that and some people don't, so it's your choice :)



EDIT: New Plot Idea

It has been has been three years since the 104th Trainee Squad and 108th (15 yrs) Trainee Squad is finally graduating. Since Eren's last transformation in his fight with the Female Titan, both the boy and girl found in the Titan have gone missing (This entire sentence will change if we're going withe manga). In a bout of déjà vu Wall Rose is once again breached, and the cadets that should have been sentenced able to graduate are sent out into battle. While fighting, a mysterious Aberrant Titan(Eren) shows up and assists in the re-sealing of the wall. Watching Eren gives some of the children hope and (our characters) chose to enlist in the Survey Corps, knowing their faith. Some of them enlist because they do not want to be a part of the Stationary Guards (Garrison), other, top ten-ers, purely to follow the 104th Trainee Squad's example, known for having the most top ten's enlist in the Survey Corps in the entire history of the Military. From there, the plot will go on to be similar to plot one.

OHMERGOSH, yes. I'm totally in. I'm an anime-watcher, btw.

YAH! And that's cool. Plot's are completely flexible! I figured most people will be anime watchers, since AoT did get popular from the anime and what not.

Lol, yeah. I was gonna read the manga, but I've been to cheap to pay my library fines.....

But when you get time you should totally read it. Speech bubbles might get confusing, but its great. On Crunchyroll, I think you can read it for free with a few advertisements.

Yep! I'd just popped in and was about to reply to your post in the Advanced section but I see you've already found this. And it is indeed High Casual!

EDIT: I came up with another very editable plot idea on another forum and figured I would put it here as well. I put it in the first post so you guys can check it out.

The plot to me is not terribly important (Not to say I don't care, just that they're all good ideas.)

I'm in! I had posted in another one but it kind of went on without me, plus they are just following the main plot again, i think this leaves us all open to a bit more originality. I would like to play a titanshifter but their may be more experienced people who know more of the manga that can play the role better, just want to put myself up for candidacy but not necessary for me to participate in the slightest. This will be fun!

Awesome! And a Titanshifter is reserved for you then. I don't think not reading the manga will effect how you play a shifter, but if you feel it does then I am always open to answering questions :)

I will permanently decide on the amount of shifters if this gets enough popularity to put an OOC/IC up and we see how many rpers we get.

Yay! Seems this will turn out to be an anime roleplay. So, so far that's four people. If we can get maybe two more that should be good, since I figure if I make an OOC/IC more people will pop in.

How great is the difference between the manga and the anime?

Its not a difference in accuracy. So far the anime has been spot on to portraying the manga...up until I think it is Chapter 33 or 34 which I think is episode 24 and 25s. The manga is now up to chapter 53 if memory serves me right, and so its just that the anime is far behind in certain plot developments and revelations, but in terms of accuracy you are not losing anything, you just don't know as much.

AHH! Thanks can't wait already have my character completely in mind, just want to see your template and put in what i need to. My character will be more of a reluctant to almost emergency only titanshifter and from the start he won't know it's that much of an option. Not like Eren who had no idea, since from the plot we'll be playing out its obviously a known phenomenon but he will be a more unlikely candidate.

I'm fine playing a non-shifter, unless we need more. I am perfectly content to whizz around with maneuver gear and chop at things.... as death-prone as that may make my character.

EDIT: I believe this makes 5 of us in total, if OP is gonna have a character?

The reluctant to emergency sounds good to me. Though, just to clarify, while it's known to happen, our character won't know they're shifters from the very beginning. Unless you have a convincing biography that would make it sound realistic.

Since this is a High Casual, while I'm open to more players, I do want to keep the numbers a bit reduced, so I'll be putting up the OOC today and getting up a CS for you guys to start on you characters.

I might be interested; I'm in another ongoing one that halted after RPG's downtime, and hasn't resumed thus far. If it doesn't by the time an OOC comes up for this, I'll more than likely join in.
