[@Reflection]Sure, you can play as Vader if you want.  His ship won't show up until after Leia meets Kenobi and they talk (and he preferably gives her a Force lesson, though maybe not), so you may have to wait to insert him.  Or you can have him giving orders on his ship while they are in hyperspace approaching the planet.
