Your argument seems completely based on the semantics idea of "gender" wasn't used for sex since the beginning of time. So that in turn means, the word is meaningless and can be turned into whatever you want it to mean. You could say the very same for other words, but it doesn't change what they mean now. But that just doesn't conform to reality with even a passing glance
It does though, kind of anyway. The thing is that it never explicitly referred to biological differences.
And again if we're going on older the date, the more credible the source. Non-binary and all of those words assuming a gender spectrum are far, far more recently coined.
So, no I flat out disagree that "arguing of linguistics" isn't important. People have been jailed for misuse of pronouns...all these labels are thrown out there BECAUSE language matters. More than how accurate any of them even are to reality and evidence.
You get into fucking appropriation wars like this...
White people can't use two spirit because it's a cultural appropriation, oh fuck I thought it was a 'gender'...Not a Halloween costume. <.<
Also, you failed to explain how we'd be able to push all of this into law, without people being able to abuse the hell of the government. Gender Fluid, means fuck you I'm both and neither, or which ever I please, any time I want. You can't prove I'm lying, I'll sue you if you tell me otherwise.
If you don't even support it, at it's most basic level, you're just flat out misinformed on the word and how it's been used in tandem with sex. Because we aren't just arguing over semantics of language. The left is arguing over reality bending and pushing political laws.
Gender is not a social construct in any meaningful way. Not in the progressive way, in what they mean by claiming that. It is a biological fact. That men have more masculine traits and females have more feminine traits on average.
Alright, here I will concede to you. I do think it is wholly criminal that people are jailed for not indulging the craziness of the mentally ill. However, again, this is all far from the original point I tried to convey. Gender is (Χριστός συγχωρέστε το για αυτό) a social construct. Gender is like imaginary friends. It's not healthy to have them, and not right to encourage people to have them but you can't tell another person "no, you don't have these imaginary friends." It's just one of those things you aren't going to win. How much success do you think you'll have telling a guy in an asylum chained to a chair that no, it is indeed not right to gouge someone's eyeballs out for snack?
@Andreyich Okay. I'm going to move the center of debate, just to prove my point. Of a previous discussion we had, many moons ago.
You were discussing with me, in terms of race and you yourself using race as a term describing supremacy, prejudices and racism. But race is a term that stated in the 16th to 19th century...not from the very beginning of time. So, if that's really all it takes, because I didn't hear anything else, or receiving any data or numbers. Trans-racialism HAS to be a thing. Right? You should be able to pick whatever tumblr wants to be...
Explain to me, what all these genders mean and what their differences are...I want the science backing all of these terms.

Also, that's a terrible argument for allowing it without question or pushing law or trying to control free speech or people. Because "won't change everyone's mind. So let them win." Perfectionist/Nirvana Fallacy. You cannot shake off the gender spectrum theory, without starting to go into effecting laws. We know this because it's already happening. As Penny tacitly (or maybe sarcastically.) admitted, this is exactly the goal and point.
Now if I could just find footage of an angry frothing at the mouth pastor decreeing that gods judgement is going to fall upon America as a result of this bill...
So in the news today, French presidential runner-up Marine le Pen (who TO BE FAIR is legit offspring of an actual Nazi) has been charged with tweeting anti-ISIS images. She faces up to five years in prison. I haven't looked up the actual images (because fuck twitter and also fuck the National Front probably, I dunno, I'm not french but they always seemed on the crazy side), according to the BBC the tweets included photographs of ISIS doing ISIS things like decapitations and other executions and said something along the lines of "THIS IS WHO THEY ARE."
So here's a conversation starter, right? The low-hanging fruit would seem to be "jailing your political opponents for telling the truth is wrong." Seems almost too easy. What's the actual line you'd draw when it comes to policing speech on the internet?
Le Pen...is facing charges of circulating “violent messages that incite terrorism or pornography or seriously harm human dignity”, and that can be viewed by a minor. The crime is punishable by up to three years in prison and a fine of €75,000 (£66,000).
I also didn't look at the pictures because I have a personal policy not to view things that DAESH is putting out as propoganda but apparently the pictures were of the Jordanian Pilot being burned, a beheading of an american hostage and a guy being crushed by a tank. There had been some text added.
Seems to me that she would have been charged if she had been posting pictures of random murders and the fact that its ISIS related is really a secondary point. I don't know enough about the French law to go much further than that.
As for policing speech on the internet. I think enforcement of existing hate speech laws and what not is probably fine. I'd maybe like to see a little more enforcement of threats of violence (who hasn't collected a few rape threats) but I understand that this is hard to enforce from a practical standpoint. Basically if it would be illegal to do it in a public setting I'd probably be ok with it in an online one.
Things like porn and such are in an at least theoretically private setting and I suppose that images and videos like those Le Pen is accused of spreading should exist in such theoretically private spaces. Provided they dont have calls to kill all muslims/jews/Rohinga or whatever which would be covered under hate speech laws.
... but websites have the right to modify their content as per their terms of service.
To what extent? Is this a christian-bakery-versus-gay-wedding-type scenario? Because we've found in the past that one can compel equal services to be rendered in past cases of free speech vs. anti-discrimination. (These may be unrelated issues entirely, I'm realizing now this sounds like an accusatory question. It's not meant that way).
