[@Master Crim]Hey, you might be interested in Morvai Security if you're looking for a military background! Would also be a nice way of connecting Derrick to Jolie, as he would no doubt have been in service during the time Jolie was framed for the murder of the previous Captain, van der Beek... Though whether Derrick believed she did so or not I'll leave up to you (the "evidence" against Jolie was quite damning though, and who doesn't like a bit of conflict between characters?). [@MissCapnCrunch]Hope this is okay! I imagine Morvai Security being part private security part private army... With especially the Rangers being the kind of "Oh, shit! Run!" kind of deal. I don't imagine we'll ever see those guys in action though, unless someone is acting as a direct threat to the corporations.
Morvai Security, or Mor-Sec or Morse among common people, is one of the more prominent public security companies in Morvai. It has contracts with nearly all major corporations. Mor-Sec operates directly in Eden and Korven. It holds 87% of all security contracts in Eden. The percentage is even higher in the Korven, due to its public relations image as the only organisation willing to stand up against the rampant gangs. The corporation also runs many prisons for Morvai, such as the infamous LEVEL-9 facility. Mor-Sec also deals with the private sector, providing unconventional (such as cyber-security), or conventional security to individuals. In most parts of Morvai, Mor-Sec is thought to be synonymous with "the law", "the cops", or "the police", even though it remains, at its heart, a corporation. The current CEO is Kyle M.D. Palmer with Abram Tanaka acting as Captain.
Mor-Sec has distinct divisions within the corporation:

Peacekeepers - The public face of Mor-Sec, cruising the streets and first-responders. The Rangers were called to life as a need for a surgical tactical team rose. Rangers are spoken about in hushed tones in the streets of Korven, often believed to merely be a urban myth. There aren't many who have survived an encounter with these boogeymen. With access to the latest in terms of armaments, Rangers are nigh impervious to bullets due to the use of Nano-Kevlar. This is incorporated into a Ranger's training, where they are fired upon with live ammunition to make recruits lose the fear of being shot upon. With a drop-out rating of 60% and an additional 43% casualty rating, there are only a handful of Ranger's in active duty. Their Abhorrent deployment costs thankfully ensure that Mor-Sec only employs these units in the highest value cases. We guarantee it!
LEVEL-9 is a high security prison where Mor-Sec keeps the most dangerous or high valued criminals. Very little is known about the facility to the public. It stands as an enormous concrete block, with the actual prison being build underground. As it's name implies, the facility is constructed out of 9 levels; each level delving deeper underground and becoming harder to escape from. The top levels hold the majority of the prisoners, with the lower levels holding increasingly higher valued prisoners. No one has ever escaped the prison past level 4. Each prisoner is branded with a 'mark' upon processing. This mark serves as part personal file part ID. Events, such as entering the LEVEL-9 facility or engaging in a fight, are recorded on the mark; allowing personnel to quickly ascertain the danger a prisoner forms. The brand ensures that no prisoner will ever find a legit job in Morvai again. The brand is viewed as a badge of honor among the seedy underbelly of Morvai, given that surviving - let alone escaping - the LEVEL-9 facility is deemed impossible by many.
