It's that time of the year again, my friend: the end of the semester. I've got a ton to grade and limited brainpower, so I'm going dark for a few weeks so I don't give you crappy posts. Expect me back around May 14th. Thanks ever so much for your patience and hopefully(fingers crossed!) I'll have WAY more time to develop this with you after the semester is over.

(Thinking about changing jobs so I'm not in the classroom any longer. I really love working in the field of education, but teaching is a grind that I don't think I Can go through any longer :/)

No worries there at all, I totally get it! My dad teaches too and he's just as busy so take all the time you need, I shall be here waiting whenever you feel up to it again (:

Hello! Many thanks for your kind words and patience, but now I FINALLY have uninterrupted time to post. Just got one up actually :)

I'm also going to try to do something I think will be interesting as we're posting: I'm going to replay KOTOR 2. Seeing as KOTOR 2 featured a lot of the stuff we've tried to develop, I want to use it as inspiration for future developments in our story.

So, I have a couple ideas for stuff they could encounter on their way but I wanted to give Yerbol (and all of them, in fact! XD) a bit of a chance to catch his breath back and all before they went rushing off into the maw of the beast, since that was a pretty nasty landing they just went through XD

That's a very nifty idea actually! o.o Funnily enough, I just finished a run of KOTOR I the other week LOL I might move on to KOTOR II as well just to refresh my memory of what happens, would certainly help for the direction we're headed in! :'D
Did we ever discuss who was playing Revan and who was playing Meetra? I have cheese for brains and have sadly forgotten if we did ;w; *hides head in shame*

I'm not doing too bad, hanging in there! Every nasty virus to ever exist seems to be trying to take my family out currently, I'm the only one who has thus far not been hit so hopefully it stays that way and everybody else stays firmly in recovery, sleeping on my parents couch for the weekend in order to take care of everyone was not very comfortable XD

Yesssss. That would be fitting, seeing as this is the first time sentient life had set foot on Malachor V since...well, KOTOR 2?

Ah good ol KOTOR. I'm envious of your ability to replay the first game, seeing as my laptop can't run the bloody thing. It can run Fallout 4 on almost ultra settings and Rise of the Tomb Raider on high, but KOTOR keeps crashing between cutscenes. More motivation to wait for those guys at Project Aperion to be done. The game is shaping up, by the way. I highly recommend taking a look at their twitter feed because once that game is finished, I imagine it'll be difficult to go back to the original KOTOR.

Oh dude, seriously, replay KOTOR 2. Some of the things Kreia has said ALREADY has got me thinking about what Revan and the Exile would have gotten themselves into. Examples:

"Take the greatest Jedi Knight, strip away the Force, and what remains? They rely on it. Depend on it, more than they know. Watch as one tries to hold a blaster, as they try to hold a lightsaber, and you will see nothing more than a woman – or a man. A child."

"One quickly learns, that the Jedi Code does not have all the answers. If you wish to understand all aspects of the Force, then you will need the contrast, not adherence to a single ideal."

"Sith is a title, yes, but like you, the title is not who I am."

I never liked Kreia when I was playing through the game as a younger lad, but now that I'm older, goodness I appreciate her outlook on things and really enjoy her as a character. Also, she's basically said a lot of the same things we've developed, so that means we need to be consulted for KOTOR 3 xD. I've honestly thought about us sending in our stuff to Bioware at times and going "See?! KOTOR 3 CAN HAPPEN!!! GIVE US A CHANCE!!!" Maybe once we assemble our saga into a novel(or series of novels), we can do that, but in the meantime...

Right, Revan and the Exile. I mean, your signature WAS Darth Revan for the longest time, so I don't see why you should be deprived of playing the legend himself. I can take care of Meetra.

Oh no, that's not good! Here's to everyone recovering swiftly and you not contracting whatever your family has. I know whenever I get sick, my wife follows right along most of the time and vice versa, so stay well!

Has been a while since I worked with Revan, this is going to be super interesting too O.O I'm somehow envisioning Meetra sensing something being up with Yerbol's Force connection too? I could be wrong here but I get a sense that he's not quite as kosher as he keeps trying to convince himself he is XD

As for where to get them to, well, perhaps either approaching or entering the academy Traya/Kreia left there?
it HAS been a while since I played through the Malachor levels so some of the ideas might be botch and/or impossible but I'll fling em out here so we can spitball them XD:

-So, I'm not 100% sure if there WERE any on the Malachor levels, but I figured it would make sense since they feed off devastation/destruction in the Force and so forth, so I figured perhaps they could run into a few Hssiss on their search. I believe there was some sort of tunnel system that was created around some of the ship debris or something, again not 100% sure XD

-Following on from that, pretty sure there was some sort of device in one of the systems that had been left there by Bao Dur which they had to disable at the end of KOTOR II? I thought perhaps they could encounter said device and somehow experience some sort of flashback to that event which would give them a clue as to who they were going after?

- OR, there's also Traya's academy that would be ripe for expoloring and probably filled with Dark Side energy that could point them in the direction which Meetra went in order to pursue Revan? Obviously, they can't explore Korriban anymore since...we blew it up like 3 in-timeline years ago (or however long its been...possibly longer? bwahaha) XD but I imagine even Revan would've visited Malachor on his way past before he left Known Space?

-Slightly cliche and a bit R2-D2-original-trilogy ish, but a possibility for T3-M4 to have been left behind with some sort of archive or co-ordinate map as to where they went in case someone capable came along to look for them? It was kinda implied that Meetra left Viszas behind after the end of KOTOR II to "guide" others after her and Revan to help them, but not so sure any of those party members would still be alive? I don't think they were meant to be as powerful as Revan or Meetra so I'm not sure if even the Force could extend their lifespan that long? The only original party member I could theorise would definitely still be alive (although pretty old by this point) would be Zaalbar? (Thoughts, of course, always appreciated XD)

-Was also tossing around the ideas, but albeit for later after they've ACTUALLY found Meetra and Revan, of Zaalbar (for abovementioned reasons) and/or HK-47 (because come on, he's a combat droid, he'd be useful to them in their adventures, plus he's absolutely hilarious and I love his crude sense of humour XD) having accompanied the duo on their journey...it was kind of implied that they didn't take anybody else with them but I can see HK at least somehow convincing them that he would be an asset and being a droid he's far less vulnerable than "some organic meatbag"? :P

That's everything I've got for now...bit of a text wall so I apologise D: but I plan on firing up the RCM version of KOTOR II and going to town since I bet it's full of ideas we could use for this chapter of our tale O___O (good old Kreia and her sardonic advice! XD) so I'm sure there will be a bunch more ideas for us to throw around later as we progress too! aha

Set it up to where we can have that flashback in a Republic cruiser AND encounter some Hssiss.

We'll have to get HK involved somehow...xD

I'm thinking we cover the flashback in the ship/discussion of the flashbacks within the next few posts or so and then perhaps they move on to explore Traya's academy to garner the clues as to where Revan and Meetra went? Thoughts? o:

Yep, sounds good. I'll get us to the ship and Yerbol is going to be hit HARD with a couple of flashbacks that are Exile-related. After playing through half(?) of KOTOR 2 so far, I'm very excited to control Meetra and weave in some of her struggles into what the party/Yerbol will go through...although, I play as a male exile, so we'll see how playing a female one goes xD.

By the way, I'm convinced more and more that Illesia's damage is affecting Yerbol. I'm hoping I can explore his wounnd. Also, did we agree that the new galaxy that Revan/Exile went to was Rakatan controlled? I have a feeling we did...right?

It's definitely worth trying, some of the dialogue options with Atton are brilliant as a female Exile XD Only thing that sucked was not getting to take Briana/Handmaiden with you when you leave Telos :/ Disciple/Mical was kind of an annoying kiss-ass :P (Though he and Atton do fight over you which is...hysterical bwahaha)

Ohh man, poor guy. He's never gonna get rid of Illesia is he? Not surprised though, she did mess him up pretty good. Hopefully Meetra can help him fix it, or at least start to come to terms with it!

Ok, so to clarify the visions:

Yerbol is experiencing a mixture of visions from the end of KOTOR 2 and when Revan and Meetra return to Malachor. Their force imprint is so strong that the duo's thoughts are somewhat discernible along with their actions.

Sooooo sorry for the delay in posting! I experienced a weird as with the site that prevented me from accessing/reading the post at first. finally sorted itself out so there you go!

Didn't want to hijack Meetra too much, and wasn't sure what you had planned there so I thought I'd just supplement a couple more of the visions to point them onwards? hopefully it works okay ahaha

First one would be Revan returning to Malachor before looking for the Rakata, I always wonder if he tried to find the Shadow Generator himself to deactivate it but couldn't and had to hurry to leave, so Meetra would have to deactivate it later on in the KOTOR II timeline.

Other one would be during the Mandalorian Wars when they first activated it and obviously the canon scene of Meetra's exile from the Order, then them returning again to deactivate the Generator before Meetra goes after Revan XD

I can of course change up anything as needed ahaha
Also, if you haven't listened to Shinedown's new album yet, you TOTALLY SHOULD O___O There's quite a few songs that seem appropriate for this chapter ;)

Evolve to name a few, and "Black Soul" probably also suits Revan and Meetra's attitude towards the Jedi Council when they went to war (and perhaps even after? not sure how you plan to play Meetra out of course so maybe not ahaha)

So, finally, life has stabilized. FINALLY. Stabilization included:
-Getting our bathroom remodel done (that was...ick)
-Completing errands both large and small (including some family favors)
-Getting our trees trimmed
-Getting settled in my new job that doesn't involve teaching kids

It hasn't been! But then, it's been a pain in the butt for a while so I was kiindaa expecting it to die on me soonish anyways XD Once my dad is on leave for the summer in a couple weeks I'm gonna get him to give me a crash course in all the specs again so I can look at replacing it proper =P

Not too bad over here! I've been going to regular physio for a few months and having the daily exercise routine to do at home has been super helpful so now I can actually Y'know... Do a reasonable jog every day without my old grandma hips punishing me for it :D xD

Birthday celebrations went well, there was much eating of cake and just generally slobbing out and watching movies together XD

As to the post and the direction they could go in next, some thoughts! :D

- Up to you whether they have a clear run through to the Academy or encounter more difficulties first, I don't remember the exact order of the Malachor stuff so I don't remember whether the tunnels were before or after/within the Academy! ^^;

- I DO recall Meetra, in game, experiencing some visions of her involvement in the Mandalorian Wars and having to re-enact them as part of some sort of trial or something, during her journey to pursue Kreia. Might be interesting to have something similar happen to our heroes as they get into or closer to the Academy? Whether they experience more visions of Meetra and Revan or of themselves and their pasts could be up for debate (some other, hidden clues towards the whereabouts of Meetra/Revan hidden in amongst said visions either way, perhaps? ;) but it might be a nice call back/parallel to Act I when they had the visions and such during their True Sith trials? =P

- Also, did we discuss where they would be led to next in their quest to find the legendary duo? I believe we mentioned something about the Rakata being involved, so perhaps the natural next stop would be Lehon/the Rakata homeworld?

Right, to your thoughts:
-I'm ok with getting to the Academy without any more troubles. I don't know why I feel this way, but their time on Malachor has felt like a LOT longer. Maybe it's because I took a hiatus, but I'd like to get to the Academy and move onto actually getting to somewhere close to Revan xD

-Oh for sure in terms of the duo having visions at the Academy. I mean, Kreia made it sound like Revan, Scion and Nihilus were trained at that Academy, so it should be teeming with the Force. In my head, the Academy sequence (and after) is structured like this:

-Arrive to be greeted by a quick vision of Revan and Meetra entering
-They go in and traverse the ruins while being guided by occasional visions of Meetra and Revan(so basically the imprints of the duo serve as guides)
-Eventually they find the meditation chamber utilized by Kreia as well as Revan and Meetra. After receiving yet another quick vision of Meetra and Revan sitting in the center, the four of them take a seat and are instantly bombarded with a flood of memories from all those who have sat there before. It can come as quick or as slowly as you'd like, but eventually I'd like for a vision of Lehon to become clearer along with Revan and Meetra discussing where "The Dark Ones" went
-After discussing their visions with the Elders, they go to Lehon where upon landing and getting to the Temple of the Ancients, they discover a Star Map planted by Revan that plots a course deeper into unknown space

And that's where the crap really is going to hit the fan because if I remember correctly, they're going to be traveling DEEP into unknown space. We can figure out what we're going to do with that then? Or do you have ideas already?
