The rorqual top warp speed is 1.5 AU/s which is about 12 light minutes per second so we are well into FTL.

My thoughts are that I don't have to use a cyno beacon necessarily and could use any stable beacon that is strong enough to lock onto. But that still precludes jumping to a star since jumping super close to a star would be bad. Or hoping I can bolt a cyno onto a ship with better FTL and follow it.

The capacitor thing I kinda ignored and assumed it was a constant travel speed than hops.

Double post, sorry.

I will be going a light year every 12hrs or so. Even stopping for capacitor recharge (which it does in warp) probably manage a light year per day if needed.

Personally I would fudge the capacitor bit and call it a constant. But I'll leave that up to our GM

Ayyy Halo! Why not just use an Autumn-class?

Also in terms of warp I was just going with the standard idea of a drive that can open a wormhole. At that point it just matters about how fast a ship is because the wormhole is just a shortcut in space.

This RP has generated quite a bit of interest! If there's anything I can do to make things easier for people - like a list of players and ships, or something, please let me know.

I've repeated this here so that the group at large may answer it. It's the players' party, after all. I do have some thoughts farther down, however.

@Queen RaidneFinished up my sheet. I get that it probably reads a bit powerful, but Halo's weapons are quite weak for most Sci-Fi settings.

Greetings. A friend sent me here, thinking I would be interested in this, and for sure, I am quite interested. This is a very rare moment for me, to be actually posting on any forum in existence, but this has really caught my attention. So, from what I've read, this is an RP / RPG based on a "party" consisting of many ships and their crews.
The plot looks to be about bringing said ships into the universe to hopefully defeat the big bad and his empire, correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm surprised that it's actually turning out to be a fully fledged fleet, with everything from capital ships to simple fighters. I assumed the power ceiling would've excluded big fish.

I've read the posts here, though even then, I know not where to start on getting into this. I have an idea in mind, for sure, though my most important question is if there's room for yet another. Plus, I'm contemplating whether or not my proposed ship would fit in with all the ones already in.

Welcome! Your Draco's friend right? So I'm sure you'll be fine, best thing you can do is briefly fill out the character sheet so the GMs can get an idea of your ship :) the thing to remember is just to not introduce game breaking weapons and such.

@Anomaly758 Hi there and welcome to the RP.
It would help if you would read the bottom of the first OOC post to get the basics of the Stargate universe, the setting for this RP, that is if you haven't done so already. The wiki is also a good source.

In regards to your ship fitting in with the rest... bottom line is it doesn't have to. The more diversity, the more interesting the RP gets. Just try and follow the Strengths system. One weakness for each strength.
Capital ships are allowed but they shouldn't be overly powerful.
Now obviously I wouldn't take my time explaining all this if I didn't think there wasn't room for one more.

@Retro Obviously since your new here it isn't that big of an issue, but please remember for the next time, unless your ship/character sheet has been approved by the GM do not post it in the Characters tab just yet.

In regards to everyone else's pending ship sheets, we'll get to them shortly.

History of the Ship: Built and design by Mandal Hypernautics with interpretation from the Kandosii-type dreadnought. But during a hyperspace jump a strange hyperspace disturbance hit the ship throwing it off course.
