[b][color=#C9A281]Appearance:[/color][/b] Just over a foot and a half when standing, Mei is far less intimidating than the typical Dire Rat. Her dull umber fur appears to be shorter than most, but remains coarse and unkempt. What makes Mei easier to identify would be her left eye. Although cloud-like in opacity, she suffers no impairment in vision from it.

Mei's history begins in a small urban area of the Fujian province in China. Her parents were tailors that ran a small business in a small town, and were just two plain faces among the billion more worn by the citizens of the same country. It had seemed that Mei would be thrust into a life of mediocrity that would plague him for her entire life. After all, she was not physically strong or large, and though her teachers had always considered him an exceptionally gifted child, it was not nearly enough to save him from her banal existence. Yet fate works in mysterious ways. In many aspects, being born into such an average life let him bare the fruit of her talents - at a very young age she learned that she yearned more; more of everything - power, wealth, influence. Ambition burned inside him, and at the age of twelve she ran away from home.
 
But how was a young boy like him, weak, alone, and talentless supposed to conquer the world on ambition alone? After living like a rat on the streets for several months, the answer came to him while watching a local gang terrorize a nearby shop owner. Power and strength were nothing but an illusion. Life was such that there is always someone stronger, or faster, or smarter. Knowledge and information was where true power lied, and if you didn't have that then all you needed was to seem that you did. And so, ten years of lying, cheating, and blackmailing her way through an imperfect system of government, she, as young as she was, found herself in charge of the heart of the local criminal underworld. But there had to be more, even she recognized that all her hard work only made him a big fish in a small pond. She needed to learn more, but alas, a bullet through the skull had ended her life.
