I mean, French could still be very doable since they had a large presence in parts of India and a good chunk of Southeastern Asia. Plus, a French Resistance fighter might be a neat perspective to toss in. If not, your choices aren’t limited to Soviets! There’s British Raj (see: India), Australia, South Africa, French-occupied Syria, French Indo-China, New Zeeland, and whatnot. Lot of options.

Plus a French perspective could be really cool!
