Jing watched over the others as they went through their post battle dealings. As Yui called out he quickly answered. "Ohh Yes, We will indeed be heading back to Civilization. And when we get there the first round is on me for everyone's good work on a well finished job." While raising a goblet he kept on him filled with wine.

Alm sat and listened to Pox's question. "I don't know if they wanted it, or if it was here and they simply just didn't destroy it." He answered giving it a bit of thought. After a bit more of silence Alm decided to speak up a bit, "You know Gwen isn't as bad as she seems. I mean there is a whole bitchy thing about her, but she does care. Sure for the first few times we got hurt her choice in medical practice seemed a bit Draconian, but she hides the face that she cares. I mean if you look at us who have been here for a while we don't actually have many scars to speak of, Well except for Jenramo and his damn healing sword. The initial healing hurt a bit, but in a day or two the wounds would be gone." He started explaining and moving one of his hands to cover his own wound that he received in the battle. "I know you two have your differences but don't take her in such a hard light, she has seen a lot of people she cared about get hurt and pass in front of her eyes. She was there when Riou died... She gave her all to save his life, but it wasn't enough. She felt like she failed Jing that day and she has been on the "tough Love" routine since then. Just thought you might want to know that before judging her." Alm continued before starting to get up and ready himself for the return trip.

-------

After a bit of rest Jing and the Irregulars started to make their way back to civilization. The trip back would take a little longer due to the Loot the Irregulars had collected in the tomb totaling two weeks. During those two weeks things seemed calm almost to much so. There wasn't a sign of any raiders or Orcs on the path which gave the Irregulars a bit of free time whenever they stopped. Gwen spent a few nights teaching Octavia the bare basics of magical concept to the point where Octavia could create the magical arrows to use in the bow, While Shion spent the rest of the trip teaching her about archery so she could actually use the bow. Alm spent his off time meditating, training/sparing, cooking, or taking extra watch shifts. Jing and Jenramo made sure there was always a nice fire and Booze to be drunk as night fell. Stephan kept a close watch on the collected loot and treasures making sure no one took anything outside of their share. Allant and Sybille kept mostly to themselves mainly taking the night watch while sleeping during the day.

Although the took two weeks soon enough it came to an end and The Silver Moon Citadel came into view. The Wooden walls that protected the Gatehouse City stood as the final checkpoint back to civilization. Upon entering the city Jing promptly made his way to the Tavern rented rooms for the irregulars and ordered everyone drinks including Garrett and Haph. And after that he told his plans to the group. Stephan, Allant and Sybille were going to go on ahead to sell the loot and collect the contract and were to meet back up with the group a week from now in Blackrock Village, a small village on the way back to the Sanada Estates, while the rest of the group would stay here for the next few days to rest before making their way back home. After telling the plan and a few more rounds of drinks Jing dismissed the Irregulars.

@13org@Noodles
After his rounds of Drinks Jing remembered he had a bit of business to attend to and he took Jenramo with him to go meet someone. They traveled through the gatehouse and entered the Citidel itself making their way to what looked like a neglected house. As the two entered a man sat in a lightly furnished living room across from a fire. "So," Jing started to question, "How did they do Hector did they pass?" He asked as he moved to sit in one of the unoccupied chairs and Jenramo followed suit "Yes, they passed." Hector answered, "They weren't the most graceful ones you have brought me, but they survived the ordeal." He continued before giving a sharp whistle signaling for the new recruits to come out from their rooms.

@Lyla
After the Irregulars had been dismissed Alm came up to Nanami, "So since we have some free time, want to head to the Merchant's district see if anyone have brought any fun trinkets from the desert." He asked walking up next to her. "I think we earned ourselves a bit of a break after this little adventure wouldn't you say?"

Towering Giant, Survival of the Fittest

Garret had remained silent and fallen on deepened thought. After hearing of Hafrbjǫrn ultimatum, his eyes trailed towards the group witnessing the savaging of the spoils. His ribs still felt ill, so the former of the two would not suffice for them to end up victors against the Irregulars, and much less would Hafrbjǫrn be too willing to uphold that end of the bargain for what was originally planned as pay for him. And so... the Serim knight nodded in agreement and extended his hand towards the giant. "Fret not, Half. This Journey would soon come to an end." However, he brought his hand back, closing his fingers in a gesture with his index as if it representing the exception to what was previously told "However, I suggest you don't stray away our saviors, least you lack the honor. Remember my dear partner, regardless of circumstance or fate, the irregular were paramount to our survival today." Hafrbjǫrn rose his brow as if to suggest the utter nonsense the man had just spoken about. At the instance they decided to open what was the Pandora's box of this dungeon their lives were forfeit. That they had survived was by mere extension of many factors, which were all too closely knit to luck. The bombs he had brought, the bow and arrow he picked up, the soulstone he retrieved. There all due preparation for these all to predictable outcome, and yet... Hafrbjǫrn could not fully disagree to what his employer had said. His eyes kept stead on the Serim's stare "Oh I see it too clearly my companion in arms! You are far too vigilant for your own good. You do not fully believe on the merits of these people's good tidings and strength. You'd sooner place our victory in the hands of fate. Well quake not in your boots, Half for it is true. We owe these kin a great debt and much like the one I have with you, I intend to keep it."

The tune of the Serim's voice pledged something greater than what he spoke. Ill intent had roamed on its entirety, but Hafrbjǫrn did not care for the intention of the people whom he was hired by... Sadly, he only is here to do what was but the extend of his only capability. Battle, his smiting garnered much, but not enough to warrant a living in peace. For much of the guilds owned their own swords and selling knives to pandering merchants and peddlers was not a means of earning a good sovern. A sigh escaped this old giant, weary of such nonsense he walked passed an outstretched Garrett, and continued his path towards the entrance. There was not much for him to do in this place, and so he would wait somewhere with less blood and corpses as scenery. Garrett lowered his arms and released a hefty breath, pulling the tags of his fallen Serim comrades, he witnessed their names once more and began to wrought in their thought. A clutch of their steel, he wore them around his neck, along side his own. Forming, even if only by metaphor, the party of the Serim Knight once again... "For naught will have been your work... Dear friends."

And so proceeded the night to finding something of value or relative interest.

Minutes became hours, hours became days, days became weeks before they had finally arrived at their destination. Not much had happened with Hafrbjǫrn throughout the course of this journey. He spoke naught throughout and fell terribly to his lonesome, night consisted of his standing guard, if not reading and updating finding to a small log book he kept, other times was reminiscing to himself tales of a bleak origin that haunt him to this time. Surfacing in times of rest, these memories would not halt their blare, and much less would Hafrbjǫrn demand them to stop. Within them there was a face, one of which he cared for deeply for and though dark, these memories bring warm to what is a terribly frigid life. Yet it mattered no longer, as they have finally made leeway to their destination, and stepped foot on the The Silver Moon Citadel. Such sights were of no surprise to him, he had seem to fancy these types of locations due to his work. Reaching their resting place, Garrett and Hafrbjǫrn were handed a drink by the Irregulars, although the giant was terribly distant, it seemed the guildmates were not.

A silence befell the two, as the time for farewells and ends would soon come to an end. Garrett and Hafrbjǫrn would lock eyes and exchange gestures before drinking their beverage and indulging in silence. Or, that was the idea until the Serim decided to speak. "Have you grown accustomed to the Irregulars?" What nonsense has this mad knight began to spout again? He spoke as if we were to continue this journey at the hands of these people. "You haven't said a word since we left the dungeon, Half. Does it not make you weary to clutch to your own devices all the time?" There was something peculiar about this... but Hafrbjǫrn did not discern what at the immediate moment. He just remained silent, indulging in his drink. "There. Right there, Half. Two week of companionship and you continue to baffle me at wits end on how severely private you are. Can you not at least attempt indulgence in alcohol and conversation?"

"Not with the likes of a man who's face reeks of treachery." The Serim rose his brow in confusion, then replies with a soft, almost limber laughter. "So those were the thoughts plaguing you, Half. You should certainly know how to-" Hafrbjǫrn halted him by placing his hand before him. He didn't care for lectures. "Be quiet. I do not intend to enjoy the rest of these mead with ill company, much less ill conversation." The Serim smiled, almost wryly... "This might as well be our last ever meeting, Half. Could we not end such with pleasantries instead of rivalries?"

"Are you suggesting that I am wrong in my assumptions?"

"Indeed, I am. What I have looted will be profit to pay what we have agreed upon."

"I see. Then why do you linger here and not went towards with the others to sell your goods?"

"Because, Serim have their own means of trade. I could get twice as much in a town over--"

"This is not what we agreed on, Serim. I told you we would get to the next shelter and bid farewells there, no such more than that."

Garrett remained silent, clutching his drink firmly upon his fingers. Dousing his thirst with its substance Garrett wiped off any residue left on lip with the sleeve in his arm and continued to stare down the giant that seemed to be loosing his patience. "...Alright. I'll have your sovern by the return of the Irregulars."

"See to it that you do, Serim. You have aught yet to witness me when I am angry." Garrett nodded and smiled, standing from this table, now the giant sat at his lonesome, again. Much like before. Just that this time he had mead at his hand.

Yui Ren

With the fighting done, Yui retrieved her weapon and let out a sigh of relief. ”By The Father and His Children, I don’t want to fight those again…snakes give me the creeps.” She muttered, inspecting her rifle for any new scuffs or scrapes; hearing Jing’s reply, she laughed aloud and clapped him on the shoulder. ”You really know the way to this girl’s heart don’t you boss?”

The trip back was uneventful, if a bit more tiring due to the loot they’d acquired. During their evening rest stops, she reloaded the fired casings. Pouring a careful measure of black powder into a shell, she’d then cautiously press the powder tight with a wooden dowel; too loose and the next shot would be all smoke and noise but not effect, and too tight could risk setting off the Stone, which would be bad a whole host of reasons.

Once the powder was set, she pressed a small wad of fiber on top of the powder and then set the bullet in place, setting it with a few careful taps with the handle of her knife. Reloading each shot took Yui about 20 minutes.
--
During the trip back Yui, on several occasions, nearly made to try and strike up a conversation with the man mountain; she’d noticed him glancing in her specific direction more than once and part of her wanted to ask what did he find so interesting about her? A small voice whispered in the back of her mind, that maybe he somehow knew who she really was and was looking to collect a reward, but she did her best to dismiss such thoughts.

She never did end up trying to talk to Hafrbjorn during their trek however; he gave off the distinctive aura of a man who didn’t wish to be disturbed.

Back in Gatehouse, such thoughts were quickly pushed aside by the promises of pay, drink, food and a bath.

After she’d finished Jing’s round, gotten a meal and a few more drinks, Yui snagged one of the Tavern staff and enquired about renting a bath. If he’s got a problem with it, I’ll just tell him to take it outta my cut. She thought as she told the serving girl to just add it to Jing’s tab.

The girl came and got her once the bath was ready and led Yui to a backroom that contained a large wooden tube full of steaming water.

“Will this suffice, Mistress?” The girl, who couldn’t have been older than fourteen, asked a bit nervously. ”This’ll be just fine.” Propping her gun against a wall, Yui began to shed her gear. ”Dear,” She asked as she began to unlace her Jack and then the gambeson underneath. ”Could I trouble you to knock some of the desert out of this?”

She handed the girl a few soverns, and smiled. ”Nothing fancy, just throw them over a fence and beat them like a rug.” “Right away Mistress!” The girl squeaked as she staggered off under the weight of the armour.

Alone now, Yui stripped to her skin and stuck a toe into the bath. The water was almost too hot, but that was perfect. She hissed slightly as she stepped fully into the bath and the sat down. The tub was large enough that, with the exception of her head, her entire body was under water. Letting out a long sigh as the heat worked at her tired body, she leant forward and dunked her head, running her hands though her hair. Leaning back once more, she rested the back of her head on the edge of the tub and closed her eyes, and just relaxed.

Isbeil Camshron

Isbeil sat quietly in the room she’d been given, idly read though her grimoire, though her heart wasn’t in it. It’d been a few years since she’d had to do any mercenary work, a lucky find out in the sands had left her with enough soverns to work in peace, but those funds were getting down and she’d decided to shore up her finances before any troubles arose.

She’d been a bit leery of getting back into merc work as far too many Companies where just thugs with richer paymasters; but the Bloodrose Irregulars had a reputation of being an honorable Company.

--

Now having, apparently, passed all of Hector’s tests, she found herself waiting to meet Master Sanada.

Her thoughts were broken by a sharp whistle from outside. Time to work I guess. She thought, tucking her book away and adjusting her clothing.

Stepping out of her room, she saw the other new recruits exiting their own rooms, nodding to them, she made her way to the living room where Hector was standing with another man who must be her new boss. Approaching the pair, she kept her ‘withered’ arm tucked across her midsection and bowed. ”Master Sanada, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am Isbeil Camshron.”

Ehri Khan

As Ehri stood on the room she was given, sitting down as she carefully unstrung her bow and oiled her khopesh with Isa comfortably lying down near her and Misha perching on a chair near her. It was a bit awkward when she got in with her pets and she surely attracted a lot of stares, which most weren't happy, but nothing could be done regarding that as both Misha and Isa refused to get away from Ehri.
She was still a bit anxious even after successfully completing the first mission. It could have gone better, way better. Ehri was used to working alone and most of the times she found other newcomers getting in front of her or her pets. Due to many factors, which amongst of those were the fact that she was from the Old Blood clan and the fact that she had two dangerous beasts with her, not many of the other recruits trusted her, which made working in a team even more problematic. Ehri herself was already used in working with Isa and Misha, whom she didn't need to say even a word or a small command to be understood. She knew she still had to learn much about working as a team as many times she saw herself expecting others to understanding how she would act even without saying anything... but she hoped she would be able to adapt herself to that.

One of the main reasons why she choose to join the Bloodrose Irregulars was because it would be much easier to get jobs and earn a bit more. Sure, she could simply live off the wilds, but money was a necessity. Especially nowadays... Things weren't like they were anymore. The Old Blood Clan was no more and all the survivors were living with the Grand Empire. She had to adapt herself to their way of life, or perish alone. And adapting themselves was something the Old Blood Clan was known for. She had no choice but to learn and adapt at everything the world sent her way, just like her ancestors done in order to live in the dangerous and deadly mountains.

Interrupting her thoughts, a sharp and loud whistle echoed through the room, indicating she was being called. While she disliked being treated like that and found it incredibly disrespectful, she had no choice but to be quiet and silently go. She needed to get on the Bloodrose Irregulars for many reasons...

Sheathing her khopesh and putting the string on her bow again, carefully leaving them near the chair Misha was perched upon, she headed towards the door.

"Calm down, Isa. Ehri mentally said to Isa. The female dire wolf had a very strong personality. She always did. As she greatly valued Ehri, treating her like a member of her pack, she was quick to show hostility towards those whom she didn't like or trust. She was mainly the reason why people often stood away from Ehri. Misha on the other hand, was much more tranquil and quiet.

Turning its head towards Ehri, Isa got up, walking ahead and standing near the door with an imposing posture. She clearly wanted herself to be noticed and wanted to be sure everyone knew that they shouldn't mess with them. Ehri couldn't help but chuckle at Isa's reaction as Misha simply flew towards Ehri, perching itself on the thick path of fur near Ehri's neck. It's sharp cry towards Isa had a clear tone of disapproval.

"Ok, you two. Calm down. You know we need to get in the Irregulars. You guys being inside is already good enough." Ehri thought to them before opening the door, standing just in front of it. Her strong presence and imposing posture, especially due to the large animals clearly shown that she could be relied upon and knew exactly how to take care of herself.

Interacting with: Alm @Arthanus

[♪] Nanami hadn't been drinking so much as she had her nose buried in her notebook, having written down notes about the halls of the tomb just like Alm, though she suspected she may have been more naturally inclined to such a task - it never hurt to have another pair of eyes. She didn't pay much mind to the others, except perhaps a glance towards Yui once or twice before Alm was next to her inquiring of her company. The proposal certainly peaked her interest as she glanced between him and the book before finally shutting it.

"I suppose that's not the worst idea.. I could use some fresh air and a moment to clear my mind. All these symbols are rather intense. Still, it may be intriguing to see what someone may have collected." She smiled softly and stood, tucking her notebook away. Still had chosen to wear her new breastplate, which she found to be unique in design - the inclusion of a built in cowl was certainly a welcomed addition. Surprisingly enough it was fairly comfortable despite being armor and let her wear it for long periods of time, to which she enjoyed the ability to move quicker than normal. She had started to learn how to translate this into more graceful, flowing movements as well, but it was still new.

"Maybe I can get some black clothes to match my new relic," she half-jested, giving the man a slight smile. "By the way," she started, gesturing for him to lead the way while she followed, "have you made any headway with the tomb?"

@Arthanus

Pox went for a particular painting, it was faded, but it was the picture of a beautiful woman, her lovliness not marred by the ravages of time. She wore something odd, a dress of a time long passed. He seemed to be quite cheery. "Well, Im not going to let this one be buried in such a hole. Belongs in a gallery." Still studying the picture, they talked about Gwen. "She could have fooled me." He said in response dismissively. Then Alm told her story and Pox gave him the attention he is due. He listened, she had a sad story. And while Pox listened, he was motionless, not a single waver of his beak as the lenses seemed to focus directly on him. A moment later, Pox spoke.

"We have our methods Sir Alm, and our differences. I hold her in no lesser light but my discipline is all I have. To know someone uses it improperly, regardless of their reasons or intentions behind them, I just have to voice my opinion. And lets face it sir, my opinion means quite little. I'm just the strange man in the mask. I don't hold grudges nor will I treat the Lady Gwen any differently. I really must apologize to her. Sometimes I get so passionate you know? I won't say anything about what you told me, I don't think she'd like me knowing about her. I believe we started off on the wrong foot. Might have been the mask. Probably the mask." Pox left it at that.

There was something so bizarre about his reactions. Sometimes they just seemed so... 'planned'... practiced. Anything that belittles himself to maintain a professional relationship. And anything that keeps him from really talking about himself in any specific ways. It wasn't intentional deception, it was almost reflex.

The trip back was much the same. Pox pittering about the group like a mother hen to make sure they didn't die of heat stroke, checking his supplies and making lists. He still spoke longingly of getting a beast of burden to make these trips easier.

He did try to embroil himself in the everyday working of the group:

Namani and her relics with Alm.

Yui and her plans for maybe making a flame thrower.

He tried to talk to Hafrbjǫrn and his crew but it was an intimidating prospect and Pox couldn't get more than a simple "How's it going big guy?" before it looked like he was was annoying him. "Alright good talk."

He tried to get some information from Octavia about what happened to her in the tomb, offering his two cents on the subject but he knew he was going to need some research. Besides, she spent the time leanrning archery with that fancy new bow of hers and magic to prove it. He only bothered her when she had a moment.

He even apologized to Gwen for his rudeness back in the tomb. He would be positive regardless of her reaction.

He was just back to baseline, as if nothing had ever truly happened. They were alive, with some others, including some lost trinkets. If only they saved more.

Back at Gatehouse, Pox used his portion to restock, though he did disappear from the group for a day in order to take a personal trip. He needed to go to the nearest messenger house and prepare a letter. He needed to check in, offer his story, his claims and jobs and his position to certain interested parties. The task was something he would no tell anyone about. Apothecary Business. Again, avoiding anything specific on the subject. And keeping his correspondences a secret.

Once the mandatory task was done, he went about his research for Octavia and preparing his potions for the next tomb raid, wherever that might be.

Current Location: Tavern

It was a crisp cool evening, the light of day draining away. The city buzzed with locals and tourists, every corner filled with music and wild merriment. The streets were littered with wooden stalls, brick houses, lights and ornamental plants — there was life wherever you looked. The atmosphere was a stark contrast to the desert; it almost felt surreal to be back in civilization.

Upon their arrival, Octavia and the group headed straight for one of the city's taverns. It was evidently less crowded than the other housing and drinking establishments, most likely because it was a tad more pricey. The tavern was well-lit, the floors were carpeted, and there was even a small fireplace at the corner of the room. The ambiance was great, and the Irregulars' rooms were all conveniently located on the second floor. The only thing the establishment lacked was an open bath house, but Octavia fortunately spotted one a few blocks down the road.

After setting up her things in her room, Octavia's gaze landed on the bow she had received from their last raid. Octavia was learning quick with the help of Gwen and Shion as her mentors, but she left out the part where the use of magic had been affecting her body in strange ways. She didn't want to worry Gwen. Most of all, she didn't want Gwen to stop teaching her. She still had much she wanted to learn from the mage.

As if on cue, blood trickled down her nose, and she hopped off the chair to grab a washcloth from her bag.

Ever since Octavia delved into the arts of magic, she has been getting frequent nosebleeds, headaches, bouts of lethargy and queasiness. Octavia wasn't entirely sure if it was related to the use of magic (or if she was sick) but she could only take a wild guess. Despite that, she has been doing a great job at hiding it from the others.

Octavia sighed and decided to head for the baths, grabbing a fresh set of clothes. She had a red robe in hand, some fresh bandages to wrap around her torso, a new eye patch and black trousers. It wasn't the best outfit to put together, but she was frankly running out of new clothes. Octavia couldn't afford to spend her money leisurely, as most of it would go towards buying better equipment — not that she even had enough money to begin with. High-quality equipment were expensive, especially the ones powered up with enchantments.

- - -

The walk to the bath house was quick, though it would have been quicker if it weren't for the drunk boors on the street who tried to coax her over to join them.

After paying at the front desk and entering the hot spring, the women who were there were already getting dressed and heading out, so Octavia waited.

She let out a sigh of relief once they were gone, pleased to have been given the opportunity to enjoy a bath without her eye patch. It felt great to look at the world with both eyes, as opposed to just one. She always told people that she lost her eye after an accident, and whilst she didn't feel good about lying, she didn't have much of a choice.

Octavia undid her braids and stripped until she was essentially one with nature. Once she was fully submerged in the water, she felt the heat soothe her tired muscles, making them relax. It was tempting to stay there for long, but she couldn't risk having someone barge in and see her glowing red eye. It would be enough to spook anyone and have her burnt at a stake.

She quickly but thoroughly washed herself from head to toe, before getting out of the water, drying herself off, and changing into fresh clothes. Octavia was pleasantly surprised that she managed to do it all in a flash.

"I haven't felt better in weeks," she murmured to herself as she rubbed her hair with a towel. She felt squeaky clean, and her limbs felt lighter. There was nothing like a hot bath in a natural spring.

After her hair was semi-dry, Octavia headed back to the tavern.

She decided to have a drink after dropping off her things in her room, taking the seat behind Hafrbjǫrn. Octavia was reluctant to approach him; she'd be lying if she said his size and demeanor didn't intimidate her in some ways. Octavia knew there was more to him than meets the eye, but perhaps she'd approach him once he was in a better mood. She couldn't help but notice how his conversation with Garret had left him quite sour.

Her eyes scanned the room in search of Yui and Nanami, but they weren't there to be found at the moment. Guess she'd have to drink alone. Octavia wasn't much of a drinker, but she'd make an exception for tonight. She could really use a break from everything that's been going on.

The waitress served a wooden goblet filled with wine, and Octavia took a swig. She couldn't help but think that today went pretty well, aside from experiencing the occasional nosebleed and nausea. It was quite concerning, but she'd worry about that later. Octavia had enough on her plate, and she just wanted to end the day on a positive note.

"Today was definitely a much-needed day off."

Selova Ajes

Selova sat cross legged, her wooden backed chair letting out slight creaks against her chainmail. Her grey eyes squinted dreamily at the glare of the fireplace as she retied her braid with a yawn. Shoot... I dozed off... Upon hearing the whistle, she forced herself up groggily and donned her cloak with a hasty tug. Her previous quest was a peculiar one, though she didn't expect herself to make the cut for the Blood Rose Irregulars. She was surprised to find herself working along with a girl of the wolves for that hunt of the Fire Bear, but it was more of the long trip back to the citadel that seeps into her fatigue.

Was it wolves or eagle? Casting away her stray thoughts, Selova chucked her scabbard along her waist and reached for the door. "Sorry for taking so long," She snorted. So much for showing up late on the first day here... Her sleeves, though it looked neat and tidy, were more unkempt than she usually appears.

Towering Giant, Repose Until Nightfall...
@HowlsOfWinter

The mead was one of quality, one such that the giant ill had the luxury to partake upon regularly. His mind had wavered from what was once a unpleasant exchange to the sonorous rustle of voices that engulfed the tavern's lodgings. Trailing on thoughts of the earnings he would get, and what to do with them. He missed the forge, he privy'd a good anvil and chisel. But such needed to wait, the tremble of his fingers had vanished almost entirely. He could still sense the ache of the tendons with each long interval he didn't exercise them by clutching momentarily into a fist. His drink was finished, and he didn't feel too inclined to order a second as they weren't particularly inexpensive. Still, he sat there at his lonesome ruminating on the journey and what had transpired. His was at his forge, and these three soldiers had procured his presence for the sake of maintenance, he agreed as would any smithy would. Just a couple of swords, some needed refinement others needed a simple whetstone. But Hafrbjǫrn body and blood was made for the forge, so this was to like playing is to a child. In the midst of it all, the man known as Garrett had spoken to him of a proposal, something of great value. Hafrbjǫrn was skeptical at first, but what was paid upfront was enough to warrant his intrigue. Of course, the slyness which protruded from the Serim also reached him, coil at his throat like serpent clutching its pray. But Hafrbjǫrn decided to honor the binding, and travel once more to the unknown. Many have died at his behest, many had died at his carelessness. Much sacrifice was needed, and much energy too. That these Irregulars had any sense of weariness not protrude from their essence was indeed something that peak the giant's curiosity.

His fingers tightened around the bridge of his nose, pressing as if to ward whatever headache would arise at the mere thought of this summary. Garrett was not one that seemed to be full of tricks, he seems like a fool who's a bit too good at charisma, however. His silver tongue had lead them astray for instances which could've been avoided. But... He witnesses the small wealth he has, if it could even be called that. A lot was sent to his family, to a sister and to the parents. Their poverty was too, the giants concern. The first half should be enough to keep them stable for a good amount, with the rest he could give his ex-wife enough to rebuild the home. A sigh escaped him, maybe he should actually ask for another. A voice broke off his trance, it was none other than the guild head. His abrasive nature had already rubbed the giant the wrong way. His eyes trained on his and without much to retort, the giant heard the proposal that headed his way. The guild master seemed to wait for an answer, but one never came. The giant was torn between lifting the table and smacking him upside the head with it, or pushing him down the stairs. But regardless, he took restraint. It took real gumption to do what this man was doing right now, and more over to sully his honor in such a way. He did not see pass what was the warrior, he saw only the pawn which he could utilize on his game of chess. He had no front-liners? If persuasion was a needed factor for leadership, this man ha sunk its ship long before he tried to set sail upon it. Hafrbjǫrn's point seemed to have cemented itself within the guild master, and taking his silence as a means to an answer he stood an left the giant once again at his lonesome.

Or so he thought... a noise caught his attention, head turning it was one of the Irregulars. The victor of the spoils, and one that the witch doctor seemed particularly fond of. She was small, but to Hafrbjǫrn many were small. Her jet-black hair swayed across her features, delicately adorning a visage of tranquility. Perhaps she has found a moments rest, finally. Yet throughout the journey, she wore another facet which the giant found particularly strange. During battle, he couldn't discern her methods either, it as if she had strength of quickness, but not such of resilience. She did not seems meek in the slightest, yet... Somehow... He turned once again, drinking what's left of his mead and pondering some more.

What was her name again? His emerald eyes trained themselves on the ice which still were present on his jug. Before he opened his mouth and spoke to the girl "Octavia, correct?" He didn't turn, yet continue to speak. "You wear calmness in your mien, finally. I thought I sensed a tinge of worry during our travels. Is there something that is amiss, perhaps?"

@Athol(Isbeil)@13org@Noodles

Jing and Jenramo watched as the three girls entered the room. One of them Isbeil introduced herself as she entered. By the look of her clothing it she was a northerner well versed in the travels of the desert or at least one would assume the heavy layers of clothing would be to protect oneself from the sun, Second there was Selova the girl didn't introduce herself and had the looks of your average knight, but the girl had made a bit of a reputation for herself, the last Ehri didn't introduce herself either but gave off a presence as she entered the room, Jenramo shot Jing a look, "That one seems a bit full of herself despite still being a pup," He whispered, "Best to keep an eye on her." He added and Jing responded with a simple nod. He then stood up from his chair. "Greetings Ladies, Hector says you passed his tests, but aside from that I haven't really gotten anything other than your names from him. How about you tell me a little about yourselves, mainly what you do and what you specialize in. I'd like to know where I can put you when we get into the fighting." He said in a warm tone with a smile. Yet behind the smile there was his own air of command with a great sense of weight behind it in a way to show Ehri who would be in charge. After that he listened to the girls responses and when they were finished he nodded "Noted, thank you for your cooperation ladies." He said with a smile. He then tossed Hector a small bag of gold coins, "Your finders fee, as usual." Jing said before turning, "Come on girls lets go meet the rest of the team, welcome to the Irregulars." With that the four of them left the Citadel and returned to the Tavern.

@Lyla

Alm took the lead as Nanami had gestured. "I don't think black is totally your color, maybe some royal purple dyes to liven up the armor." He suggested before delving into the secrets of the tomb. "As for the Ruins they seemed to be a temple to one of Ristoth's Children from pre Starfall, maybe even from before the Gods left. From what I have been able to decipher from the writings the temple was dedicated to Ignus "God of the Sun" as we know him, but the texts seem to point to a different title although its lost to me what it could mean." Alm started explaining as the two walked to the market district. He would continue on a bit about the "known" history of Ignus, being the God who's job was to carry the sun and ensure that day was brought to the land and to keep night at bay, until they made it to their destination. The market district of the Gatehouse City was sprawling with life, from adventurers trying to sell their finds or pick up something that was found by another, Imperial Soldiers looking for gifts to send home or a nice piece of equipment to give them an edge, to just normal common folk searching for something to give them a little advantage in their day to day life. Upon entering the marketplace Alm let the talk of Ignus die down, for now at least and started to browse the marketplace with Nanami.

The two walked and talked while perusing the Marketplace until something caught Alm's eye an Amulet with a beautiful purple Soulstone fixed into it. After a bit of negotiation Alm was able to purchase the amulet which the Shop keep said came from a rare White Lion. But once the amulet was in his possession all Alm had to do was concentrate for a moment on the stone to tap into it and know its real source a powerful Barioth struck down long ago by some fearsome hunters long forgotten. All and all Alm made off like a bandit with this deal. After securing the Amulet he turned to Nanami, "Well it might not be some Dyes, but I think it would still look good on you." He said while holding it out to her. "And before you say no, take it for your own sake the Soulstone is a powerful one and can easily be used to defend you. Just think of it as another layer of defense over your armor." He explained while showing that he himself wore a somewhat similar amulet for his own sake, although unknown to Nanami his was worn more for sentiment as its power had been drained long ago. And Alm didn't budge until Nanami took the amulet. After getting the amulet Alm and Nanami spent a bit more time perusing the marketplace before heading back to the tavern, Alm had heard that Jing was getting some new recruits and knew the old man would want everyone there to make introductions. And along the way Alm would tell Nanami what he knew about the Barioth, although his experience wasn't first hand he had heard plenty of stories about the beasts while he was growing up with his tribe.

-Later that night-
[@Everyone]

After returning to the Tavern with the others Jing had one last but of business to attend to before introducing the new recruits to the group. Jing sought out Hafrbjǫrn who had been sitting with Garrett. "Hey there big guy, got a moment to talk?" he asked the giant and Garrett gave a slight nod before getting up and walking himself to the bar. "Look I don't want to waste your time," Jing started as soon as Garrett was out of earshot, "You are a strong fighter, and seem to have a good head on your shoulders. So I would like to offer you a job with the Irregulars, I don't have many strong front liners at the moment and I think you would fit that bill." He said while taking a seat at the table. "Also I couldn't help but notice you and your employer there haven't exactly been getting along recently. How about this, I'll buy you out from whatever contract he has you on, add on half of my share from this last escapade, and a full share on every contract from here on out." Jing made his offer, "Also you can move yourself and any family you might have to my residential estates where if you have a family we can give you a house, or if is just you I can fit you in a room within the main mansion." Jing finished his offer then sat for a moment. "Don't feel that you need to answer now, I can give you a bit to think. We are leaving in about a week so you can give me your answer any time before we leave the city." Jing added at the end. He waited for a moment to hear Haf's initial response then got up and made his way back to the Irregulars. Garrett on the other hand remained at the bar incurring up a tab.

Upon joining back up with the Irregulars Jing would introduce the three new highers to the group then have everyone sit and eat dinner together, of course on his tab, still working to ease the stress of his team after the nearly full month ordeal they had been through. After the little meet and greet Jing treated the Irregulars to another round of drinks before leaving them to their own devices.

After the festivities Alm and Jing made their way to an open table pulling out a board game to play between them. After a few games of Shogi in which Jing played Alm the two started to talk. "So Alm in this game what piece would you say I am?" he started out and Alm quickly answered, "That would be an easy one, You would be the King. The most important piece on the field without you we would loose, without your guidance in the field our forces would route." Jing sat forward making his next move, "That is an understandable thought although I wouldn't say the king is most important piece because alone he cannot win the game." He replied while Alm made his move. "What about Jenramo what piece would he be?" Jing followed up giving Alm his next question. "Lance, it is in his personality, always charging forward never looking back a powerful piece put he has his specific uses." The response came quick without a moment of thought and Alm made his move. Jing gave a laugh, "That is almost a perfect answer I must say, now what piece are you Alm? What part do you see yourself playing in this little game of ours?" Jing asked getting to the point of his little lecture. With this Alm took a bit of pause thinking of how to respond while making his next move. "I would be the pawn. Disposable and to be used to further your plots to win the game." he finally answered finally putting down his piece and giving a little grin. "Check" Jing looked at the board then back at Alm. "Pawn is an interesting choice, I can't say you are entirely wrong on the choice but the reasoning would be off. The pawn if cared for and advanced properly can become as powerful as the Gold General and although the path is hard and dangerous it is by far more satisfying to use a promoted pawn to win the game than with any other piece." Jing responded making his next move blocking Alm's check. but putting Alm in check mate with the same move using a "Promoted Pawn" token. "That was a good one boy you almost had me for a minute there but you not valuing yourself is what lead to your defeat." Jing offered a bit of advice as he got up from the table. "Its late my boy get some rest. We can play again tomorrow night if you wish." After their game Alm cleaned up the board and made his way to his room to think on what Jing had said.

Over the night a few things happened one of which was Garrett who waited until Haf had fallen asleep before he suck out of the tavern and left the city without a trace. leaving Haf high and dry on the coin he was owed and effectively ending their partnership. Although brief Jing approached Haf after the giant had woken to remind the man of his offer and ensure him that the conditions had not changed over night.

@HowlsOfWinter

Shion had woken up before dawn and went to Octavia's room to collect her for her morning lessons. She had been getting better on the archery front although Shion didn't much know about the magic part as Gwen would always shoo him away when it came down to that. After practicing for a bit Shion took up his own bow and started to take some shots at the target himself. "So Miss Octavia are you looking forward to anything when we get back to Lord Sanada's estate?" he asked with his first arrow hitting the center mark of the target. "I'll let you in on a little secret. I got a girl back home none of the Irregulars know. She is the third daughter of one of Lord Sanada's retainers." he started to explain a bit while taking another shot splitting his first arrow. "Although I don't think we can ever really be together. I'm just the son of a farmer after all, and she is as good as nobility." He continued while knocking a third arrow and releasing spitting the second arrow as well. "What do you think Miss Octavia? do you think I really have a chance?" He asked. His question was a bit strange and really out of nowhere as in the last two weeks Shion had just been teaching her about the bow and never really opened up about himself before. Even if it was just a small question it showed that the young farm-boy was opening up to her as a comrade and trying to forge a bond with his teammate.

After a bit of a restless night of though Alm had woken up early himself heading out to the Guardsmen's training yard. He had been having a few sparing matches with some of the night guardsmen and so far was on a winning streak. For the moment he was resting against the wooden staff he had been using in practice.

Jing wasn't such an early riser making his way into the main dining area having a bit of breakfast before going about his day of rest.

Gwen had left the tavern a bit early and was making her way to the market district to look for some long forgotten relics that she could "rescue" from this sad little town.

Jenramo had had a few to many drinks the night before, even for him, and was slowly nursing a hangover on the tavern's main floor sitting in a booth in one of the corners.

Ehri Khan

Presenting herself to those two men, she almost immediately felt their eyes upon her. As Hector whispered to Jing, Ehri knew exactly what he was talking thanks to her own enhanced senses and Isa's hearing. It was obvious she was receiving a larger portion of attention than the other two newcomers and not of the good kind. But she was already accustomed with that, it wasn't the first time that something like that happened. Even though she entered the Irregulars so she could get more jobs, she shouldn't expect things to change regarding how other people treated her.

"I'm Ehri Khan. This is Misha and Isa." Ehri said, looking to the big, harpy eagle on her shoulders and the female dire wolf standing near her after Jing said for the newcomers to talk about themselves. Although she did realize the way Jing spoke to her, asserting his dominance even under his smile, Ehri choose to simply ignore that. She disliked that attitude but she had no choice but to tolerate it, after all, she needed to get in the irregulars.

"I'm a member of the Old Blood clan. A skinchanger." Ehri continued, using a word that most others probably never heard or only heard on stories. Skinchangers were already rare even amongst the Old Blood clan and due to the clan being so 'closed' and wary of outsiders, not much was known about them.

"I am a skilled tracker, hunter and scout. Like all members of the Old Blood clan, we are accustomed in living in harsh environments such as the cold mountains and forests. So our survival skills are incredibly good." Ehri continued, looking to the man in front of her with an expressionless face.

"My fighting style is different from what you or others may be accustomed. The only thing I ask is for space to move myself together with my animals. I work best dashing through the battlefield, going from long to medium range and if necessary, close range. Due to my lack of armor and to the fact that I excel in fighting few enemies at a time, I am not fit to be on the frontline." Ehri said.

"Isa and Misha are not tamed animals nor pups... That is also true for me. They do listen to me but I would strongly advise against provoking them." Ehri said, giving a special emphasis on the word pup as she looked to both men in front of her, showing that she was well aware of what Hector had whispered to the other man.

"The Old Blood clan view animals differently than you people do. Both of them are my companions, part of my pack, we see them as equals and not as mere tools, in other words, we are one and the same. This is specially true regarding skinchangers. We don't need words to communicate with each other nor commands to understand each other's actions. Due to this and the fact that I'm used to work only with my animals, I am not that used to work in a team." Ehri finished. Her speech had no emotion, she wasn't smiling or excited. Although her strong presence and posture, mainly because of her size, physical and her animals, seemed to suggest she was overconfident she was actually simply serious. The Old Blood clan was a clan of strong people, hardened by living in harsh environments. Due to their unique relationship with animals, showing how strong and capable they were using body language became simply part of their nature in order for them to live with wild animals.

After Ehri and the other newcomers finished presenting themselves, Jing took them to meet the rest of the Irregulars taking everyone to a tavern to drink and eat. It took quite a bit of time to convince Misha and Isa to stay on the stable, quietly waiting for her with other animals, which obviously were terrified with their presence. But after protesting they agreed with her.
As Ehri quietly ate the piece of dried meat she asked for with a glass of milk she took a quick glance around, looking at the other members of the irregulars as they talked with each other. Jing had already introduced her, Isbeil and the other woman Ehri didn't knew the name to the irregulars. Other than saying her name with a discreet nod of her head, she didn't have much to add.

@Arthanus

On the next morning, things haven't changed that much. Quietly sitting down on the table, Ehri silently watched as the other members woke up, some sitting down to eat, others going outside but as all the other members passed through, Ehri simply finished eating her breakfast. But apparently, she wasn't the only one hungry. Just after she finished eating, she felt an impatient growl on her mind, followed by a wild, feral hunger coming from Isa. Impatient as always, the female dire wolf was threatening to invade the tavern and go directly to where the food was. Even Misha, who usually disapproved Isa's impulsive behavior agreed with her.

Getting up from the table, Ehri discreetly went to the kitchen, getting a large piece of raw meat after giving a few coins to the cook. With the piece of raw meat on her hands, Ehri calmly walked through the tavern, not even trying to hide it as she went out and headed for the stable.

Interactions: Haf @Sync | Current Location: Tavern

Groups of people flocked into the tavern as the night progressed, some drinking in jubilation and others drinking to drown out their sorrows. Octavia just emptied her third drink and was starting to feel its effects, her thoughts and vision getting a little bit hazy. She considered calling it a night, but there were so many thoughts she wanted to drown away. Well, the alcohol didn't help. She wasn't the type to mope about her circumstances, but the alcohol compelled her to do so. It led her mind to unwanted places, making her think of a future she'd most likely be deprived of and dreams she shouldn't hold on to.

Octavia was in deep thought when the Giant spoke to her out of the blue, breaking her chain of thought.
"Octavia, correct?" He asked. She absentmindedly responded with a small nod, despite him having his back turned. She continued to stare off into the distance, her eyes a carving a bleakness; empty and unfocused. "You wear calmness in your mien, finally. I thought I sensed a tinge of worry during our travels. Is there something that is amiss, perhaps?" He continued.

"Calm.. Yeah," came her curt reply. Octavia's eyes remained unblinking, and she fell silent for a few moments before shaking her head and snapping herself back to reality. She straightened her back and cleared her throat. "Oh um, sorry.." she muttered apologetically and ran her fingers through her hair. "It was my first journey through the desert, and it left me quite exhausted. I was finally able to get some rest, so everything's good," she continued. The waitress refilled her share of wine, and she muttered a small thank you before taking another sip.

"What of you?" Octavia asked, her voice a little softer than usual. She didn't want to pry into his business, and it felt like she was doing so by asking. "I didn't mean to overhear your conversation with Garrett, but..," her voice trailed off. She was unsure of what to say next, so she pressed her lips together and left it at that.

Dinner | Current Location: Tavern

By the time she joined the others, Octavia already had one too many drinks. She gave the new recruits a very basic introduction, "Hi, I'm Octavia. I hope we get along well," before grabbing a huge plate of food, all for herself. It was meant to be shared with the other members, but there were still plenty of food left on the table. They probably wouldn't mind if she took the desserts.

Octavia tried to carry herself like a sober person, but she staggered as she made her way towards an empty table at the corner of the room, separating herself from the others to avoid any embarrassment she might bring upon herself. She started munching on her food, completely ditching the utensils and using her bare hands. The better part of her scolded herself at the back of her mind, but the drunk half just wanted to dig in without a care in the word - and so she did.

The Next Morning | Interactions: Shion @Arthanus | Current Location: Training Grounds

Octavia spent the early parts of her morning puking her guts out. She thought it was a mere hangover, but she started coughing up blood, and that's when she realized there was something seriously wrong with her. She felt her insides twist, and the splitting headache was almost too much too bare; all she wanted to do was curl up into a ball. Octavia had to summon her remaining strength in order to clean herself up before passing out in her bed.

Once Shion came by her room to pick her up for morning practice, the headache and nausea was gone, much to her relief. It's as if it was never there, and only the tiredness from the night before was left. Her complexion was still pale, and her body felt heavy. A part of her was worried that the sickness would return later during the day, but Octavia didn't have time to dwell on it. She could only hope for a better scenario and get through the day as best as she could.

Octavia immediately got dressed and followed Shion to the training grounds. It was still early in the morning, and some of the others were still asleep. Once they got there, Octavia started warming up with some practice shots, eager to distract herself from further unnecessary thoughts.

Although Octavia learned how to use a bow at a young age, she never spent her time practicing it, so her aim needed some work. She nocked an arrow and released, missing the center mark by a few inches.

After a couple missed shots, Octavia decided to step back and observe Shion with his bow. She watched as he shot an arrow, hitting the mark with accuracy.

"So Miss Octavia, are you looking forward to anything when we get back to Lord Sanada's estate?" He asked.

Octavia thought about it as she grabbed another arrow and nocked it, trying to apply what she had learned from observing him. "Probably the warm baths." She released the arrow and was able to hit the bullseye, but it didn't land perfectly at the center; her shot lacked the accuracy that Shion's had.

"I'll let you in on a little secret. I got a girl back home, none of the Irregulars know. She is the third daughter of one of Lord Sanada's retainers."

Octavia fell quiet after his sudden revelation, unsure of what to say. "Although I don't think we can ever really be together. I'm just the son of a farmer after all, and she is as good as nobility," he continued. Octavia's eyebrows furrowed, and she was about to open her mouth to disagree, but he proceeded to ask, "What do you think, Miss Octavia? do you think I really have a chance?"

There was a trace of emotion in his voice as he asked the question, and Octavia didn't hesitate to give her reply. The answer was simple. "Of course," she said, looking at him with genuine honesty in her eyes. "Love doesn't have barriers, and the circumstances of our birth doesn't determine our worth in our lifetime." As she said the last part, she couldn't help but think of herself. Octavia wanted to believe that there was more to her than the family she was born from.

"Besides," she continued, taking and arrow from the quiver, "If you're lucky enough to find love, then you should hold on to it. Not many are lucky enough to find something like that." Octavia focused on her shot as she positioned the arrow and released it. It whizzed through the air, hitting the center. Octavia beamed, returning her attention back to Shion. "At least that's what I think," she shrugged. Not that she'd know much about romantic love. She hasn't experienced it herself, and it didn't seem to belong in her own realm of possibilities. Although she used to dream of having her own family someday, it just wasn't possible, and she hasn't bothered to think about it for awhile.

All of a sudden, Octavia started to feel nausea rise from her stomach, and she had to suppress the urge to gag. "W-we should probably head back for some breakfast," she said abruptly, hoping he'd agree so she could run back to her room. A wave of dizziness swept over her, and she had to stay still and act as if nothing was amiss. She swallowed the lump that formed in her throat, keeping her head low and her eyes fixed on the ground. Her grip tightened around the bow. It took a lot of her focus just to remain on her feet.

Interacting with: Alm @Arthanus

[♪] Listening to Alm explain about the deity, she nodded quietly in thought. She hadn't known quite as much about the sun deity, but responded with a small interjection of, "I had caught that too.." She mostly let Alm teach her some of the more details and replied with thoughtful hums. It hadn't really gotten them much closer than before but perhaps Alm would be the one to crack what had happened. Before she knew it however, the man was bargaining for a necklace and studying it. "Oh, what is that?" Surprised, the man turned to her and handed it out, seeming rather stubborn about the sudden gift. "Uh.." Alm had cut her off before she even thought about arguing and instead just smiled. "Fair enough, thank you.. and maybe I'll think about that dark purple," she mused with a playful smirk. The night went by as she listened of the stories about Barioths and then before she knew it, the night had past by with drink and new allies, but always, she was the little quiet songbird who was far more comfortable observing then going straight for introductions - still, she eyes the new recruits, somewhat interested that they were all women.

The next morning...

Nanami had woken up just before daybreak and was huddled into a window ledge of the chosen tavern. Most of the members of the Irregulars were used to the daughter of Jing sticking her nose into her notebook, writing and reading as if it was the only thing she knew in life, however this morning was greeted with a new sight. Instead, she quietly watched people enter and exit the tavern, gently fingering her new necklace and rubbing the soulstone. It wasn't loud enough to interrupt but somehow it pierced through the room, a small quiet and gentle ♪ humming.

Towering Giant, Repose Until Nightfall...

@HowlsOfWinter

A prevalent silence loomed at the moment that question rose. Of course... she would figure it out. They stood out like a sore thumb and if she was there the whole time, she probably even heard. What to say? The old giant release a heavy sigh and rose his jug, ushering the barkeep to fill it up once more. To speak ill of the man was not something he'd accustomed, but more over, he didn't feel the need to filter his words in a moments repose. This young woman was kind enough to give him an ear, and so he would satiate her curiosity, even if was by means of extending a conversation that Hafrbjǫrn started. "Garrett seems indiscernible from the snake-men we fought. But even with my weary eyes I can tell, that even those snakes had honor." Vileness wreaked out of his tone with each syllable that he spoke regarding that man. Perhaps the giant shouldn't have been so foolish as to believe that whatever sum of money was offered was going to be a lie. The luxuries of the guild began to ring smoother tunes onto his thoughts. Yet he couldn't, he and his family were not one anymore, and to reunite in comfort when they still troubled in poverty. It reeked of disgrace, what to do in earnest? Hafrbjǫrn Could not come up with a straight answer as immediately as the guild master wanted, he couldn't do for the mere thought of living under someone that sees him only as another chess piece. After his jug had been brimmed with mead, he stood from his chair and sat opposite to Octavia, this time he could see all her features directly, from the eyes patch, to the hue of the eye lit under the subtle fire. She reminded him of a flower that grew prevalently on the waters of his home, Stor nøkkerose, she seemed delicate almost, yet rigid on some sections.

"You said this was your first journey." the giant spoke with a bit more suitableness than before. Unlike the former company, he could now enjoy good mead, with good conversation. Although he was not much to speak, he could enjoy the stories of another. "I could not see too clearly what had happened in the mix of that battle." The giant spoke as he took a swing of his mead "But I'm sure with polish, you'll gleam like finely tempered steel." He remained silent, but before she could speak he halted "But--" Something in him wanted to pry, yet this was uncalled for. No, he would leave it be, the young lass would be offended and he was just and old giant, alleviating what troubles had garnered in the midst with good company. "What do you think of the guild master? Do you enjoy your time in the Irregulars? As a smith and sell-sword, I am only accompanied by strangers and the chisel." A genuine nature formed at the pit of that question, his son... He was one that wanted to join a guild and had fallen because of it. Since then, the giant grew angry, lonesome and more over curious. What was that the boy found so intriguing in everything? In all this meddling with guilds, perhaps he can finally get some perspective from someone the giant felt could give him a genuine answer.

Dinner Time: Meeting the New Irregulars

New faces to add to the bunch. Truly, the guild master knew how to pick them. The giant had half a thought to believe that there might have been some ulterior motive when choosing the new mates. Of course, to him it could be all the different. They were all women, and all seemed to be around or under the age of 25. The giant did not feel too privy to conversation at the moment so he sat quietly at the corner, enjoying solitude and silence.

Nightime

The giant had awaited at the gate, witnessing the sneaking's of a rat in knight's clothing. Arms crossed, and sights at the target's behest, a small bullet of sweat dropped from his forehead to his neck the Serim was contemplating the foolishness of his decisions. "Did you not think I would be so privy to your escape, Serim?" Garrett remained silent, clenching teeth and blade in hand, prepared to unleashed his fury on the giant, one that this man would welcome with open arms, if it weren't for the circumstances that had presented itself prior to all. "What say you?" The Serim opened his mouth and began to clamor a thought, he murmured under his breath a plan, a strategy. He could sense death loom at the pit of his stomach and he could do nothing. At the gates, in this area at this time of night. Anything could happen, anything could end his life and at the hand of these massive titan of a man, who Garrett has witnessed first hand what his potency was... What could he do? Run? If that was an option he would've done it already, he couldn't all these possession would get left behind and his riches would be for naught. What bullshit, what utter madness!! "Curse you, giant! By the hands of the gods themselves, I will cut you down where you stand!!" Pulling his sword, the Serim charged with massive disdain and disregard for life. Hafrbjǫrn, extended his hands and clamped onto his face, lifting him off the earth and slamming the Serim onto the nearby wall. Garretts back slid the wall, pain coursing through him, trembling at his feet, a cough echoed through the seams of where they stood. And Hafrbjǫrn's cold, apathetic stare locked with the Serim's.

"I warned you... You aught yet to see what I am when I'm angry." The Serim attempted to stand, just to be met with Hafrbjǫrn's boot, pressing him against the wall. "You stay and hear first what I have to say." Garrett's breath was becoming more and more paused, coughing increased, his diaphragm couldn't expand properly, so breathing was becoming more and more like a fleeting luxury to the Serim. "The guild master has paid your debt, and offered me a stay in their home. I intend to take it. So you and mines business is concluded." He released Garrett, who was now furiously gasping and coughing up a storm. Enjoying the sweet delicacy that was oxigen. "I will not bring any more harm upon you. For now, have it etched into your skull however, Serim. That if I ever see you again, I will have your head and mount it up on my garden to scare the crows." He stepped away, as if allowing him the escape, Garrett took not moments hesitation and dashed off at full speed. Hafrbjǫrn witnessed the act of cowardice displayed by a man who couldn't even tell when he was cornered. A sigh escaped him, and so he returned to the Tavern, where all where at their beds. And soon would the giant join them.

The Morning After

He appeared again,like rustling roach that he could not shake off. The giant remained at his silence, not telling the events that transpired in the night. However, he would not accept just yet. Not until the Irregulars decided to venture once more to their home, then he will tell the leader his decision.

Yui Ren

{Last Night}

After her rejuvenating bath, Yui returned to her room to find that her armour had been returned, and her clothes washed. She considered going out to socialize with the rest of the Irregulars, now that they had some down time, but one the other hand that bed in her room was calling to her with the promise of the first decent night’s sleep in weeks.

Giving into the siren’s song, she flaked out on the bed for the night.

”Remember Your Grace; breath in, sight, exhale and pull. There’ll be a delay between trigger pull and firing, so keep your grip strong and wait for the shot.” She listened carefully to Sergeant Zao’s words as she readied the heavy gun. Taking a breath, Lei set her sight on the target and exhaled as she pulled the trigger. There was a heavy ‘click as the hammer snapped forward, followed by the ‘chuff’ of the priming pan igniting. A heartbeat later the gun bucked as it shot, hurling the heavy ball down range. “Not bad Your Grace.” She beamed at the praise.

Getting dressed just in her day to day clothes, Yui made her was to the common room. Collecting a mug of tea, she found herself drawn to Nanami and her singing. Sitting beside the Irregular’s little songbird, she starting along humming as she enjoyed her morning tea.

Isbeil Camshron

{Earlier}
Isbeil listened quietly as Ehri introduced herself to Master Sanada. A skinchanger? I’ve read about such abilities, but it’s said to be a most rare talent. I must make some notes…maybe a close study? After the huntress had said her piece, Isbeil stepped forward and made another small bow.

”I am a mage,” She said. ”More specifically a dynamic mage. I can accelerate, or halt most objects at will.” With her wasted right arm she reached into her robed and produced a small pebble in the palm of her gloved hand. ”I can move a simple pebble to speeds great enough to pierce a man’s armour, or stop that man cold with a single touch. I can form a wall of air dense enough to halt a cavalry charge in its place or lash out with winds that cut like a razor’s edge.”

Clasping her hands together, she regarded Jing. ”As for where I may be of the most use? I’ve found I’m most useful in the mid-line; I can support your upfront fighters by shielding them from things like enemy arrows, or I can cover your back line archers or healers. Despite what you may think of my appearance I am more durable than I seem.” The corner of mouth curled slightly with a private joke. Shifting her right arm to call attention to it, she went on. ”And before you ask or worry about my right side; it is an old affliction that is well healed. There is nothing there that may harm my ability to perform my tasks.”

{Now}

Last night’s introduction to the rest of the Irregulars had been rather interesting. Much to Isbeil’s surprise, the majority seemed to be women, which would be a nice change. More often than not she’d found herself as the only female party member in a mercenary band; and sadly on too many occasions things had not gone well.

It was a most unique collection of individuals, but then again, sell-sword work tended to attract those sorts of people. Of all of her new companions though, the young ‘Octavia’ drew most of her attention. The young woman was surrounded by an aura of Dark Magic that Isbeil was pretty sure she’d never encountered before; which was why she was now in a quieter corner of the tavern with her grimoire open as she slowly went through her old notes. After so long simply remembering everything she had encountered or done was impossible, but maybe at some point she’d taken notes. I must find a way to ask her about it; though perhaps once a more stable bond has been formed.

Selova Ajes

"I'm Selova Ajes," Selova replied, being relieved that she wasn't questioned further on her latecoming, "I fight with my sword usually, and I'm not good in magic. So I fight in the front lines, most of the time I guess,"

The other two newcomers of the mercenary group, Isbeil's introduction sounded okay, but she found Ehri's rather strange to her. She'd never heard of anything like skinchanger or Old Blood, but throughout that part Selova nodded as if she understood what the lady of wolves and eagles was explaining.

Tavern

Selova sat along the table, taking a couple of sips on her goblet of wine. The Blood Rose Irregulars wasn't anything out of the ordinary: just a giant and a one-eyed girl called 'Octavia' who seemed to have drank too much. Being new to the group, she was unsurprisingly the less talkative one, and she found herself nibbing on her plate of steak, pieces by pieces.

Morning

The tavern bed was less comfortable than how it was back home. Stretching out her achy shoulders, she washed her face at the washbasin as she descended the stairs, her yellow hair combed but still untied.

Interacting with: Yui @Athol

[♪] Nanami looked up slowly, keeping the tune as the other woman joined in, giving a soft smile. In truth, she could sense the song coming within the beast stone and felt the gentlest of urges to sing with it - it seemed to have been a mysterious, but kind beast. Something she'd imagine a cat-like drake to be like. Though before long, her attention had been drawn to watching the woman sipping tea, somehow reminding her of some kind of warrior princess - perhaps indeed Yui was such, but Nanami really had not spoken to the woman all that much before. A realization came to her as they both finished the tune at roughly the same time, in that this was likely the closest they had been thus far.

There was a quiet thoughtful stare in Nanami's eyes while she fingered the new-found amulet before sliding her hands into her lap. "I've heard you hum a few times before," she began with a friendly smile. "Never for that length of time however. You're very talented, both on and off the field." Nanami wasn't sure if more should be said - she always felt a bit at odds about socializing, thought in truth she adored it. Jing had always teased Nanami about how she saw the world from a different angle. The songbird wanted to say more, like how she enjoyed how Yui always carried herself, how she dressed, her confidence, but felt best not to be so forward so quickly. However she added, "your voice is quite beautiful though."

Shion listened to Octavia's advice while watching her shots improve when her final shot of the round hit its mark Shion grinned. "Good work, You are really improving!" he said remembering how just barley a week ago she could barely even hit the target. But as he turned to look at her it was clear something was wrong. Her skin had turned pale and Shion could tell even though she was trying to hide it she wasn't feeling good at all. "Heading back sounds like a good idea, I think you earned a bit of a break" Shion said trying to play along and not show he noticed and badly trying to hide his concern for the girl. "You go on ahead, I'll clean up things here." He said with a grin letting her go take care of herself. After he was done cleaning up Shion would head back to the tavern to secure himself some grub.

Alm spent a little more time at the training field even getting the honor to have a sparing match with the Guard Captain, and almost bested the older man. But experience won the day and taught Alm a new trick along the way, so overall a fruitful little fight. After his morning bouts Alm had made his way back to the tavern and watched as one of the new recruits from the night before walked to the barn. He remembered her saying something about an "Old blood Clan" and Alm remembered his clan elders speaking about something or other to do with them. So Alm decided to go have a chat with the huntress. He gave a knock on the door alerting them to his presence before starting. "If I remember correctly your Old Blood Clan has a deep connection to animals as well, although I will say it is a slightly different approach. You bond with animals through blood right?" Alm started while leaning against the door. "If the stories are true then you would gain some of the animals abilities, which would indeed be impressive." he continued. "But that is only possible for those with strong with the clan's blood. Now I wonder are you one such huntress? and if so what may I ask did you gain from your companions there? Is there a way to strengthen your bond to improve how much of their aspects you receive?" He continued, asking more for his own benefit trying to unlock the secret for him to advance his own level of control to his own posers. He didn't proceed into the barn just yet, cautiously waiting to see the reaction from the three before making any move.

Yui Ren

”Flatterer,” Yui replied with a grin. ”You’re pretty talented yourself.” Shifting slightly, she twisted to face Nanami more fully. ”And I don’t just mean the singing. I’ve been a Soldier-for-Hire since I was eighteen, and in the seventeen years I’ve been doing this I can think of only a small handful that move like you on the battlefield; and they’d all been at this a lot longer.”

Without realizing, a soft smile crept across Yui’s lips as she admired Nanami. ”Forgive me for asking, but how did you end up here? I know you’re Jing’s daughter and all, but you’re your voice and your looks…well I’m surprised you’re not fending of handsome suitors with a spear…” Chuckling at her own joke, she forced herself to not brush a stray bit of hair that had fallen across Nanami’s face.

This is a bad idea…remember Countess Zeng’s daughter? That was different; I was much drunker.

Isbeil Camshron

She let out a bit of a sigh and rubbed her eyes; she’d been sitting there with her grimoire since before the rest of the Irregulars had gotten up, trying to find anything relevant in her notes regarding what she’d at least perceived about Miss Octavia, but to no effect. No sense in burning out over it; I’ll just ask her…eventually.

Tucking her book back into her robes, she noticed Ehri crossing the common room with a rather fresh piece of meat in her hand. This threw Isbeil off for a moment, at least until she remembered the wildling’s animal ‘companions’. Perhaps I can distract myself with this little mystery for the time being. She stood to follow after Ehri, only to be stopped by a rumbling in her guts that was loud enough to make her blush; sure she’d been up early, but she’d yet to eat anything. Sure she used her unmentioned abilities to sustain her extended lifespan, but she was no litch, she still needed to eat.

Stepping into the kitchen herself, she acquired a bowl of soup and consumed it as fast as was practical; it was simply ‘fuel’ after all. Hunger sated, she headed out to back to hopefully have a word with the Beast-mistress. ”Oh! I apologise, I did not mean to interrupt.” She said suddenly, stepping outside to find Alm already speaking with Ehri.

Ehri Khan

@Athol@Arthanus

Although the meat Ehri was bringing to the stable wasn't coming from a fresh kill, both Misha and Isa felt it's smell from far away. Just as Ehri entered the stable, she was greeted by Isa running towards her, with her eyes fixed on the piece of meat Ehri had on her hand. Just as the big wolf got near Ehri, she raised her hand, making Isa miss the meat by inches.

"Very funny, Isa..." Ehri said to her as Isa circled around her a few times before giving up and simply following Ehri as she walked inside.

Isa wasn't the only one hungry, as just after that small show by Isa, Misha came flying, landing on ehri's shoulders as she walked. While Ehri knew they preferred eating from a fresh kill, that piece of meat was still decently fresh, even for an inn, and they certainly wouldn't protest. Ehri could smell the meat as she walked, her already enhanced senses coupled with Misha and Isa's senses, their hunger Ehri could almost feel the taste of meat on her mouth. For most other people who weren't from the Old Blood clan, that was one of the aspects that made them fear or show prejudice towards them. The skinchangers, those who inherited the blood from the first men, shared not only senses and thoughts with their animals, but instincts as well. It wasn't that uncommon to see a skinchanger partaking from a fresh kill together with their animals. Some only took small bites to sate the feral hunger coming from the link with the animals, others choose a more... primal, feral approach. But nonetheless, seeing a hunter with it's mouth dirty with fresh blood and raw meat on it's mouth is still a rather terrifying sight to people who already fear and dislike those from the clan.

As Ehri unsheathed her khopesh, cutting the big piece of meat in two big pieces and a smaller one, tossing the two big pieces to Isa and Misha and getting the smaller piece to herself. She was alone with her beasts at the stable, so it was highly improbable that someone saw her eating that raw meat. It wasn't like it was as bad as if someone saw her taking a piece from a fresh kill, but it was still suspicious, and drawing more unwanted attention was the last thing Ehri needed.

With two swift and agile bites, the small piece that she had cut for herself was nowhere to be seen. That taste, albeit it was rather... dull compared to the food she ate normally at an in, there was still a small part of her that felt... satisfied with that small treat. It wasn't the same thing than feeling the ferrous and warm taste of blood after cutting a piece from a fresh kill together with her beasts but it was still something.Fortunately or maybe unfortunately, just as she put the last piece on her mouth, chewing it, a knock on the door interrupted her, making her gulp it down immediately. She was so distracted with her own thoughts and watching both animals eating that she didn't realize a strange smell getting closer or the sound of steps.

After cleaning her mouth with a discreet but agile movement, she turned to see who had arrived. It was Alm, one of the other members from the Irregulars. Ehri simply nodded to him after she saw him. The man, instead of simply walking in the stable, choose to stay at the door. It was probably the correct thing to do. Both Misha and Isa were currently eating, and while both of them made no movement, Isa's stare was fixed at Alm, watching every movement he made as she continued eating the meat voraciously. Misha on the other hand, opened it's wings around his piece of meat, protecting it.

As Alm started to bombard Ehri with questions, she silently listened, looking at him with a curious expression. instead of being disgusted or claiming that she was either an animal herself or something else, Ehri could simply see his curiosity behind his questions. It was... rare for someone to approach her with such intentions.

"Yes. I am one of the few who possess the blood of the first men. It is old, forgotten knowledge. It's magic from the first men, dating since the dawn of mankind. Most think of it as... feral or... unsightly... A lot of it is tied to our blood and our heritage." Ehri said, with inquisitive eyes trying to test Alm's curiosity to see if it was real, if he really had an open mind and wanted to know more about her clan or if he would simply reject her and the Old Blood Clan's culture and history.

Before Ehri could say anything more though, another person approached the stable. Ehri remembered her, she was Isbeil, she was also one of the newcomers who introduced herself the other day. Drawing attention wasn't anything new to Ehri, but having people actually searching for her instead of avoiding her was something new.

"Don't worry, you're not interrupting. I suppose you overheard what I was talking with Alm." Ehri asked, letting out a very discreet smile. She was honestly a bit happy that they wanted to understand who Ehri was. As Ehri's posture became a bit more relaxed, so did Misha and Isa's. Even though Isa still sometimes sent penetrating stares towards Alm and the new arrival, almost if she was saying for them to not try anything funny.

"Misha and Isa finished eating. You can get in now. She won't do anything unless you do something first." Ehri said, turning to Isa as she raised an eyebrow, making the big female wolf huff with a low growl, resembling an unsatisfied sigh as Misha simply looked to the female wolf and let out a low cry, almost if he was chuckling. As you watched Ehri interacting with both animals, it was like their feelings were a bit more... apparent. Almost like if being together with Ehri and that link that she talked made Ehri a bit more beast like and the beasts more human like.
