I figured it wasn't actually my fault. But I have in the past killed Rl's by not posting so I thought it would be a twist of fate to kill one by posting 😂
Tomorrow i got work, so either: before work tomorrow, Sunday, or Monday......i will be getting up a post. ALso i am juggling some things atm in regards to RP's. XD
And for the sake of dialogue, i know the "death and wolf" idea did not work, but i can think of a potential branch to the spider path perchance. Just for the sake of creativity....and thinking of these things is rather fun. Even if it ends up rejected it at least is talking about interesting things. XD
Hobgoblin -> Drider
***Driders are those who have taken on the attributes of a spider, but sought to learn magic as well. It is a path males or females can take. They have a normal upper body, but their legs and lower body take on the form of 2 spider-like legs and are coated in tough black carapace. They have a total of two sets of eyes, however, and tend to frequent graveyards, forests, abandoned homes, or other dark places out of habit. They tend to be closer to death than others, but as students in magic in general they are notable for their ability to fortify their abodes with the silk they can produce from their hands, and can make intruders without magical protections feel some fear.
Requirements:
-Learn some form of magic
-Must have learned skill Silk Spinning
-Must have killed 10 spiders
---
Drider -> Necrodrider
***Necrodriders are those whom have gained additional spider-like attributes, but has lost their normal "legs". They now possesses a spider's silk spinning organs and her legs have turned into a set of six spider's legs. Their teeth are elongated and become fangs with the ability to drink the blood of other creatures. However, they grows no extra pairs of arms, though has gained skills in necromancy and an attribute connected to death. As spiders are bringers of death, this form too is closer to the forces of death and can draw upon this kind of magic innately.
Requirements:
-Must have killed/eaten 20 spiders
-Must have ingested 10 spider poison glands
-Must be living in an area either associated with death, or that has corpses of the dead present in it
-Must have learned magicNecromancy specifically before this point
-----
Necrodrider -> Arachnolich
***Arachnoliches are the neutral-path parallels to Arachne, whom took up the path of necromantic magic over mothering spiders down this path. They are Necrodriders whose skills in magic and use of it have ever deepened. They possess 8 sharp spider legs, silk spinning organs, and possess six arms covered in black armored carapace. Their teeth have become sharper and deadlier, able to rend flesh alongside drinking blood through their fangs. They can also alternately inject poison through their fangs now. Carnivorous, these beings have a preference for the blood of the living and the flesh of the dead when it comes to their meals, and can weave intricate spells to command the dead to their bidding, preserve their minions' flesh more to make them last longer, and even raise small armies to serve them at their behest.
Requirements:
-Have eaten 40 corpses of other spider or non-spider dead creatures (whether they killed them or not)
-Must raise 40 necromantic minions with magic in total
-Must gain Bringer of Death skill
-Must be in the process of crafting a Phylactery
-----
Arachnolich -> Reaper of Souls
***Reaper of Souls are those Arachnoliches who have gained a mastery over death and have gained the recognition of the deities who are tied to the forces of death. Their features are twisted into grotesque face with rending teeth, long poisonous fangs, and eight arms that can rend flesh and cast magic. Their body is coated utterly in ugly but very tough black carapace, and though they can use magic now to hide their appearance like that of any other creature the "smell of death" lingers on them always. These creatures can raze cities with the armies of dead they can summon to their sides, and their sheer mastery over necromancy and magic in general that has raised them to this point in their existences. They have also completed a phylactery, extending their lifespans greatly via magic and making them incredibly hard to kill. When they enter an area, be prepared to pay them tribute or be taken up in the swarm of dead they send at those who resist.
Beware the beast chosen by death, for it brings death in its wake as the stories tell. Through looking upon the living, it can enact death upon them and reap their souls for its nourishment as well.
Requirements:
-Must gain "Death Deities' Recognition" blessing
-Must defeated the "Grim Reaper" in battle
-Must raise/create at least 100 minions through magic in general
-Must have devoured 50 corpses of dead creatures in total
Your idea is a good one but I'm on the fence about spider types learning necromancy when the females can create an army of spiders for themselves. I will let you know that the final stage "reaper of souls" is veto on this path
I have posted! And, by the way, if anyone is wandering about somewhere and feels the need for some company then feel free to stumble Skrik's way. As yet, he only has a crude anesthetic but he has a future in medicine and magic.
By the by, @Jangel13, I'm going to try and lead into some simple magic with polished crystals as focuses. I'm thinking of basic illusion and fire magic as a start, spells like Dazzling Lights to blind the target and Flame Dart. This discovery would lead into additional reverence for the Web of Life, Earth, and Water. He will likely start praying soon as well, whether anyone hears him would be up to you of course.
@Jangel13 I'm thinking of the fact that heading toward the Shaman path would require a way to study magic. This would be a way to start that while interweaving it with other natural studies.
