I don't have anything on the docket for Lobo, so as far as I'm concerned he's fair game. Just, y'know, don't make him his awful New 52 version (a statement that can be said about most DC characters).

Yeah, I don't feel comfortable enough with my writing skills to work with Lobo. I might go with the Darkstars but change them up a whole lot. Maybe make them into a special operations force for a certain empire ;)
