Is the technology full blown futuristic like Star Trek or does it have a retro feel like BSG? Because when I think of radar I think of The Hunt for Red October, and I'm not sure if it's like submarine radar warfare or if it's just like anything within 10km we can see on a screen.

And I promise I'll minimize the Star Wars references :D
