That feels like nowhere near enough.

Hey, that is nothing compared to what you deserve for that Black Panther post from a few days ago.

My only regret is that I didn't apply for T'Challa in this game and draw that out over the entire season.

Oh my god they actually took a page out of @HenryJonesJr's book and really made Jameson a thinly veiled parody of Alex Jones.

Why the fuck do I own an Xbox and not a PS4?! I need this game now.

YES. Also I hate that I have to go to Boston the day this comes out for a wedding.

I can’t wait for it. Just traded in Arkham Knight and the first Injustice to make the limited edition console a bit more affordable. The amount of money I’m sinking into this game is ridiculous, and yet I have absolutely no regrets. Yet. It better be as good as it looks.

Please be good.

Alright, so I had some stuff come up that set me back a few hours, but here it comes. Good news is, a few of you benefit from this in that I'm going to treat this as though it is still Monday. Bad news is, for a few others, it doesn't quite matter.

The Weekly Post Check! (As of 8/20/18)

Over The Limit (Past 14 Days)
@Hexaflexagon
@Inkarnate
@Nib
@GreenGrenade

I'm not going to remove any of you because two have been fairly active OOC-wise and two had a pretty suitable excuse, so it's not as if anyone dropped off the face of the planet. But I am going say that I'll need at least a post soon, because eventually there's gonna have to be a hammer to drop on this kinda thing and this is the last time that I can justify being lenient.

Plus, I like all of your characters and don't want the game to be lacking them.

12 Days (With 2 To Go)
@BlackSam3091

11 Days (With 3 To Go)
@Star Lord

7 Days (With 7 To Go)
@Nightrunner

Yeah, this game and a few others are owed more than a post from me. I need to figure out if I'm going to do this Dinosaur Island bit or just let Bekka phase out to NPC-land while I figure out what I'm going to do. I'll try to have an answer for you by the 22nd. Also, I may be short on the power bill this month so my power might or might not be shut off on the 24th. I'll keep you posted.

As a more controversial conversation topic. We all know there have been some, questionably bad Superhero Films.

Of these films typically regarded to be bad, awful or 'eyeballs burning' bad, which is your favourite and why?

Mine is Aang Lees 'HULK'. Now, I know what you're going to say. As a Hulk fan I should be flogged, cut into tiny little pieces and fed to cats. If you just hold on, I got a couple of reasons.

1) I liked Absorbing Man. I may not of liked who it was, or how they did it. Though I did like seeing an adaptation of the concept.
2) I enjoyed the broken dynamic, Bruce Banner is a terribly mentally wounded individual. While the Incredible Hulk didn't really show that, and the Avengers films seem to have him be a bit more comical, lighthearted and fatherly to the group.
3) I enjoyed Betty and Bruce' relationship a lot more, it just felt more natural to me but maybe that's because you saw it a little bit before he was the Hulk. Instead of just "take my word for it, they were lovers once."
4) This is the most important. I love the way they played with the Hulk/Banner dynamic. As anyone in this who knows me when I talk abou tthe Hulk I love the interpersonal relationship the two of them have and how it works. Incredible Hulk didn't really work on that, it was just Banner learning to 'control' it. Rather than the two of them not getting along. It's kind of been touched on in Hulk films but easily not as good as seeing this little bit.

It was goofy and over the top as fuck, which is something the Punisher can do with. For all the praise Punisher MAX gets, during Ennis' run there were plenty of darkly comedic and goofy shit in those issues. Is it bad? Sure. But for me it ventured into the "so bad it's good" territory. And the people bitched about it not adapting the source material? Boo fucking hoo. It's not like this movie wipes away the comics that came before it and somehow sullied the mighty legacy of the Punihser, the same guy who fucking tried to kill Archie and was once FrankenCastle.

EDIT: And let's not forget this gem

I feel like too many other comic book fans complain about stuff not being "genuine" or "follow the source material". Do you want it too though? If it follows it too closely where's the anticipation or the surprise?

Also while I love Iris as my character. She's great, with Season 1 coming to a Close in a Month and me on the home stretch.... if anyone else who is here wants to try their hand at writing her then I'd welcome it. Gotta ask me nicely though, as I do love the character.

It's funny that one of my favorite movies, L.A. Confidential, is so faithful to the source material despite the fact that only about ten or fifteen percent of the book actually made it to the screen. It was wildly changed, as you kind of have to do when a five hundred page epic book that takes place over a decade is condensed down to maybe two months, but the spirit of the novel is there.

I unabashedly enjoy Ben Affleck's Daredevil. I know it's during the bad Ben Affleck years, but I thought he actually played the part pretty well. We've already discussed how awesome Michael Clarke Duncan's Kingpin was, I love Jon Favreau's take on Foggy, and Joe Pantoliano is who I've seen as Ben Urich ever since. Jennifer Garner's performance isn't... the strongest, let's say, but I bought the chemistry, and the dumbest scene -- the schoolyard fight -- at least has enjoyable choreography to compensate for the WTFness.

And who could forget: WAKE ME UP! (Wake me up inside.) I CAN'T WAKE UP! (Wake me up inside.) SAAAAAVE ME!

That whole soundtrack, though. My little brother and I were talking one time and the subject of "nu metal" came up and wanted to know what defined it. I just said that anyone who was on that soundtrack was nu metal.

My answer is, of course, the best superhero film the 90's ever brought us. Before Marvel movies hit it big time and made comic adaptations mainstream, this was the film growing up I would watch with my brother over and over. We also would play the Phantom 2040 video game on SEGA Genesis and SNES almost religiously for a couple years.
Raise your hands if you thought I was jokingly going to suggest Steel

I remember a time when I thought that and the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack were the height of musical achievement.

Talking about Spider-man Sountrack. In my head this will always be Spider-mans movie theme. I feel like, until recently, Soundtrack is something Marvel has been really weak on.
