my last post was a bit rushed, hope it's okay! indigo's pokemon can level up from that right? you don't necessarily have to have sydney do anything, although I would like if he said some additional words! but as it is, indigo could just sit and think about it. will sydney be following them to shamba?

You are correct in your character sheet. They are lv 10 and lv 7. After you finish your battle with Rattata, twiggy can advance to level 11

Your post was good. And yes, they earn another level. BUT, this is the third time they've leveled up this "day". They will only be able to level up one more time before they hit a wall.

I'm getting ready to work a double, but we do close a little early for labor day. I may get a post up tonight (if not tomorrow). Then I can say a few words as Sydney and send him on his way. He will not be joining you on the way to Shamba town.

you're okay, Arc. Your posts are understandable and it's not a big deal. @Balthazar007 I noticed that the game time says 6:30 AM afternoon in the first IC post, just wanted to mention that really quick.

@TheForgottenArc

Since Daniel's battle with the wild Rattata was so close and detailed, that Rattata can be at level 9 (just one level below what Twiggy was at the time). Oh, and don't forget to deduct one Pokeball from your inventory when you add Rattata.

@prettydrops

I fixed the time issue and pushed it forward a little more to account for the time you've spent searching for Pokemon. And as you see, your search has resulted in an encounter with a wild Buneary! I added Buneary to the location's description.

Sometimes in life, you must fight on even when you are fatigued. Daniel's Pokemon gain 1 level each. BUT this does mark the fourth level that Twiggy has gained this RP day. He won't be able to gain anymore experience till the next RP day. Burmy, on the other hand, could still squeeze in one more level, and I'll allow Rattata to gain a possible two more levels. (Your Pokemon should now be levels 12, 8, and 10 respectively.)

Not really, nothing besides the occasional Dark (Alolan) Rattata. Otherwise, you'll just be bumping into sleepy daytime Pokemon.

alright, was hoping I could squeeze in a level with Buneary! I do know that Hawka and Hero have reached their limit though. @TheForgottenArc do you want to make them camp out and start again the next day?

Buneary's training before the battle was a nice touch, but since her base level hadn't been established yet, we can't say that she "gained a level". She did however put up a neck and neck fight against Hawka who had just reached level 14, which ended with no clear victor. Considering that Hawka had already been through a lot this day, I'd say that Buneary had a small advantage in stamina.

All that being said, Buneary will start off at level 13, and she could theoretically gain three more levels today. (I minus one level gain on the day that a Pokemon is caught.) And yes, Hawka and Burmy are capped out for the day.

I can't make a post today, Too much going on and It'd be too rushed, Kinda like this post will be. But I wanted to do my training cap for my other 2 Pokemon for today (In the pokemon world). After all, Dan's gotta catch up to Indy and other's eventually, as he is at least somewhat motivated and wanting to train after the fight against the twins.

@prettydrops@TheForgottenArc

I just added a new Minor Character (Joan) and made a short post to introduce her.

EDIT: Her Pokemon are tired from training. She will opt out of any battle challenge until after a good night's rest. She will then be available to battle in the morning before she packs her things and heads back to Wanzo Town.

I hope my last post allowed my Burmy to gain a level and Rattata to Gain 2, But if not that's fine. I also had Dan find some Cheri berries too if that's okay.

Dan only trained for about forty five minutes, even less for his Burmy. This is considering that his goal was to train before it grew to dark and it was already 8:00. Therefore, I will allow Burmy and Rattata to gain one level each. This puts Burmy at level 9 and Rattata at level 11.

Rattata is close to gaining another level though. If Dan uses Rattata for anything at all (such as helping gather fire wood for the fire or hunting for food) then that can also give him a level.

Lesson to be learned here is that battling isn't the only way to gain experience. Any experience that bonds trainer and Pokemon together will increase a Pokemon's level. Battling is just the fastest way to do that.

And of course, the Cheri berries are fine.

Good post, btw!

@Balthazar007 I had a question...
so I'm not sure where you mentioned this, but our IC battles don't have to match our pokemon showdown battles, correct? we can even use moves IC that are within reason for our pokemon, even if they aren't moves we can use in showdown?

so for example-- in the IC battle against sydney, if I had written it out in more detail, I could have had Hawka use fire spin or perhaps an egg move like Last Resort. correct? i just wouldn't be able to use those moves in showdown.

I'm curious because I really want to write some awesome combinations for the upcoming contests, but I was wondering if I could use egg moves to write them. off the top of my head, I wanted Hawka to know Last Resort or Feather Dance and Mimzy, Cosmic Power or Copycat. these wouldn't be moves that I use in showdown. these are just for IC purposes such as training, battles we don't need showdown for, and for contest appeals.

or perhaps even tutor moves? maybe i could write a post about how indigo's pokemon are taught by a move tutor and they gain a new move to use for strictly IC purposes, not showdown. or maybe you would rather set these events up?

so I guess I'm trying to clarify-- it seems our IC moves can be different from our showdown moves. and I'm wondering how creative we are allowed to be with them, if that makes sense. I'm sure we have to write about our pokemon learning these moves, right? For example if I wanted hawka to eventually learn feather dance, could I make it established as an egg move or should i write about how a move tutor taught it to her? again, these moves will not be for showdown! just for IC...

hopefully that all made sense! I don't mind using showdown, but I just want the ability to have my pokemon learn whatever moves they can for story purposes and writing interesting battles/appeals for fun, if that's makes sense.

Good questions. When I said that you didn't have to follow the events that happen in a showdown battle when you are IC dramatizing it, I was NOT talking about letting your Pokemon use moves that it couldn't have otherwise learned. I just meant that if you used tackle the whole time, you don't have to do so in the IC dramatization.

So short answer is "no". If a Pokemon can't use a move in Showdown, they also can't use that move in IC battles.

However, once a Pokemon learns a move, they never forget it. In other words, while you can only use four moves in a showdown battle, you may continue to use any previously learned moved for IC purposes.

Also, TMs, Move Tutors, and Breeding will all come into play in this RP. I will control these events however (or at least set up the conditions by which you can encounter them on your own).
