Evelyn had turned to walk away, waving at him, while she headed for the door. She just happened to glance back when Clay rose up from behind the bar. He chucked something her way, which a caught. Raising an eyebrow, she looked at the bag. It was a little bag of peanuts. Clay's next comment made her look up at him. Evelyn grinned and shook her head. 

While she stood there, she opened the bag and popped several peanuts into her mouth. "Thanks for the date, babe," she said around a mouth full of peanuts, with a wink. With that, she turned and left the bar, grinning from ear to ear.
