"Seal the temple."
At Delta's request, two servants grabbed opposite levers and began to push towards one another. Large stone doors covered in archaic writing began to close slowly, a booming thud signifying that they were completely sealed several moments later. The fabled warrior of legend was now sealed in with his darkest secret, if only for a little while longer, placing five stone keys into their corresponding pedestals, of which formed a circle.
Delta turned the last key in its place and stepped back, watching as the sigil carved its light into the ground. The ground gave way to an expanding portal, edging off at the ends of each podium that encircled it. Inside the portal was a vast realm tinged a blood red and peppered with dying stars, various large rocks floating through its empty space. Further into it, a small but bright light was seen.
The conqueror turned to face the person held captive by another two of his servants, a heavy sigh shaking his body. He was nervous and saddened by what had to be done, but preserving the world's security came first and foremost over anything. "Do it," he spoke with a voice that cracked under the pressure, a tear streaking down his cheek.
The captive struggled and screamed, attempting to wrest control from those whose restraint they were under. Once they were at the edge of the portal, Delta turned to look back at a face of fear he hadn't seen since the liberation and founding of the three Delta Cities; a face that wondered why, after all these years, the conqueror would turn his back.
"Why?" she asked, pleading to her ruler. "Why must this be done?"
Delta turned toward the stone doors, saying nothing as the servants thrust the captive into the portal. A harrowing shriek escaped her lungs as she plunged into the Void, the echo becoming more and more pronounced as one of the servants removed a key from its pedestal. The portal closed immediately, its remaining sigil darkening until it was nothing more than carvings in the floor as silence came to rest in the temple. The stone doors opened as Delta was handed each key, one at a time.
"What do you wish to do now, my lord?" asked one of the servants.
"Gather my colleagues," the conqueror replied. "There is still something that must be done."

Hello, and welcome to The Kymatica, a roleplay that (for the past few months) I've been trying to write and rewrite in order to make it not seem sucky. Currently, I like where it's going and, as we speak, I'm currently writing and structuring its plot.
Delta the Conqueror was once a mighty, fearsome and loved warrior who believed in righteousness and benevolence. After achieving great feats from adventures he'd set out on his own, he founded the three Delta Cities on the edges of the great continent Khepri as a result of the Esperan War. With these cities under his rule, he sent his sister, Aristeia, to govern the city of Magna Del and his firstborn son, Argus, to govern the city of Del Vos. A period of peace lasted for quite some time, at least on the surface.
Underneath it all, there was a great fear that remained in Delta's heart. During the war, he came across six keys of a mysterious and unknown origin, unturned in their pedestals. A sigil was carved into the ground in an odd and archaic formation, as if its initial placing was thousands of years ago. The temple it was found in was littered with skeletons adorned in black robes As curiosity often does, Delta felt the burning need to find out what this location meant and how it remained undiscovered for so long a time. Turning the keys, he opened a portal to the Void, a realm of evil and darkness that should have remained closed. Closing it immediately, he removed the keys and kept them safe in a hidden location somewhere on Khepri, using them only once after the incident.
Twenty years have passed since the end of the Esperan War, and Delta is lost to the heavens beyond. Today marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Delta Cities, and a grand festival is to be held in his honor, a testament to his greatness and benevolence.
You have been cordially invited to attend this, the most wonderful of occasions, in Aquus Del, a remarkably beautiful city that miraculously floats upon the waters that surround the continent. Festivities are planned, as well as a tournament with one of the greatest rewards to date. This celebration is not without one of the biggest announcements to have reached the continent - a successor to Delta's throne has finally been named! Join the people of the world over and witness this most memorable event for yourself!

Name: or nickname, either one.
Age:
Appearance: A description or a picture is fine.
Personality: How you are. Your moral alignment will affect this.
History: Who are you? What have you done? Where do you come from? Here, you're allowed free reign over your history. If it's interesting enough, I will add it into the roleplay as part of its lore (and quite possibly subplots).
Occupation: What do you do?
Inventory: What are you carrying with you?
Moral Alignment: Where do you rank on the good/evil/neutral scale?
Other: Any quirks? Got a song you want to tether your character to? Is there something imperative we need to know that may come into use sometime in the future? THIS IS OPTIONAL.
1) Above all these rules, what I say, goes. Things are open to discussion, though.
2) If you are getting bored with the roleplay and want to bail, let me know that you're going and give me a reason why, so I know what to do better in the long run.
3) Collaboration is welcome and encouraged. If you have ideas that you want to throw into the mix to make things more interesting, feel free to send me a message and we can talk it out. I am currently rewriting the plot, but a good chunk of it is concrete and will not be changed. However, a lot of it is open to modification as long as we discuss it and I give it the greenlight. Collaboration is also encouraged between you, the players, so that you guys are on the same page and working together. This also prevents any particular person from hijacking the plot and turning it in a completely different direction.
4) Conflicts are bound to happen, probably due to miscommunication and the like. If you're having beef with another player, bring it to me and I'll settle it. I don't tolerate that type of behavior in my roleplays. If it can't be handled peacefully, I reserve the right to kick you out to avoid it spilling over and annoying other players.
5) No godmode. There are certain parts in which a couple of NPCs will godmode in certain moments merely for story-driven purposes, but apart from that, it isn't tolerated.
6) Keep your grammar, spelling and formatting in check. i dnt xcpt wrdz liek dis, so don't do it. If you need a spell check, check your local word processor. If you don't have spell check, go here. Honestly, I don't mind spelling and grammar errors every so often, but if it's a common occurrence, I will have to remove you.
The fact people start new paragraphs directly below one they finished, like this, bothers me. I don't know why; maybe it's a neatness thing. Please try to keep them evenly spaced, skipping a line between one paragraph and the next.
PLEASE NOTE: I don't care if this happens in the OOC. It's an IC thing. OOC is for discussion and hanging out. Your characters sheets, however, are subject to this rule.
7) If you feel lost in the midst of what's going on, contact me. I will do my best to put you back on track and get you going again.
8) If you are going to be inactive for any period of time, please let me know, as well as anyone else you were currently interacting with. A reason to understand your inactivity would also be greatly appreciated. If the period of inactivity lasts more than four days, I reserve the right to remove you from the roleplay in order to continue activity from the other players.
9) Multiple characters? Sure, why not? If you want to, you can set up another character with my approval, so long as they also interact with other people's characters. To those wanting to join, there is no character limit. There will never be a character limit.
10) Please follow the formatting of the character sheet. Where things are bolded, the same applies to your character sheet. Words in italics are just notes and do not need to be in your CS. Nothing needs to be itaclized, either.
11) Please try to keep your posts interactive for other players. Functional posts that promote actions between players are more valued than reaction posts that are solely focused on your character. I do understand, however, that these types of posts are inevitable and will happen. That's not a bad thing. If they're not long, don't worry about it - as long as they can be of some possible use, I won't mind.
12) The roleplay isn't centered around violence, technically. It's centered secrecy, consequence, betrayal, redemption, and all around saving the world from something that remains to be seen. That being said, violence will happen. You will fight things. Hell, you could probably fight other characters, depending on your moral alignment. My point is not to make the violence over-excessive. Don't gore it up and get super graphic with it.
13) If you have any questions or concerns regarding the roleplay, don't hesitate to ask.
14) Over all rules (except numero uno), have fun and be creative.
Though these rules may sound strict and will be enforced, they aren't meant to be oppressive. It's more to keep things in line and hopefully make it easier and enjoyable for both the players in the roleplay and those who are gauging their interest in joining.
I forget what rules need to be in place as I'm writing them, so if you think I'm missing something that would help the players and the roleplay benefit, let me know, because I'm bound to not remember.
Here's some questions because there's no poll thing and I value your opinions. Questions may be added later on.
1) The plot I have planned is quite long and hinges on cliffhangers at certain points. Because of this, I theorized splitting the roleplay into separate parts to build suspense and to keep interest from declining. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I keep the roleplay to one part?
2) As stated in the backstory, there is a tournament to be held at the festival in Aquus Del. Story-centered NPCs will be entering and, if you join and are pitted against these NPCs (it's a toss up at this point), I will message you and inform you that the outcome of those particular matches have already been decided (strictly for story-driven purposes). The tournament in general, while centered around the story, is also a great chance to prove your prowess in the ring against other players who happen to join. Would you be interested in entering the tournament? If so, should I keep it in the roleplay or move the tournament to the Arena threads? Would you be alright with pre-determined results of matches against the NPCs?
