Scott made his way out to the tarmac on schedule, and was surprised to see three new aircraft in the formation alongside the familiar shapes of the planes he'd flown with previously. Two J35 Drakens in striking digital camouflage schemes were parked up alongside the other aircraft, pilots aboard and going through their checks. The other craft he didn't recognise was an F-16 - until on closer inspection, he realized that the pilot was Miku. Evidently her damaged Corsair had been removed to repairs, and the F-16 was an urgent replacement to allow the mission to be flown. Making his way to his own aircraft, he scaled the cockpit ladder and allowed the ground crew to help him strap in and pass his helmet, before he ran through the pre-flight checks. Everything was green, and he gave a thumbs up to the crew chief as the engine started with its' familiar vacuum cleaner whine. Another crewman removed all the safety tags and pins from the fighters' ordnance and other systems, before holding them up for him to see. He nodded and gave a thumbs-up of understanding, before powering the canopy closed and retracting the ladder. Exchanging the right codes and checks with the tower, he fed power to the engine and the sound changed, becoming less of a scream, and more of a roar as the Corsair began to roll for the runway.
