@Parallel Hearts and anyone else who may be interested.

I edited my CS to add a bit of trivia to Lohengrin. Including her height and weight as well as a pretty interesting connection I found in regards to her background.

Interesting, a contestant to "Odette's" role as the most aesthetically pleasing Servant in the war.

@Parallel Hearts I've adding an additional section to Archer's NP description and I've replaced Animal Dialogue with Eye of the Mind (False). He should be ready to go now.

Short of the lack of appearance, he's good enough already.

@Reflection

Like I said if people are ok with playing against a character loaded with mind control abilities (or rather, whose primary gimmick is mind control), he's ok on my end.

Title: Ars Absalom - Burning the Fields of Faith
Rank: C+
NP Type: Anti-Army
Range: 1-35
Maximum Number of Targets: 200
Description: Joab was a servant of Absalom's father, David. But Joab refused to serve under the King's son. Perhaps it was jealousy. Perhaps it was simply because he could... but Absalom took a torch, and set fire to the fields of Joab's homestead. The entire land burned, and became so engulfed in fire that there was no hope of ever truly recovering it. This is that action made into an attack. A fire, located on a building, or a designated area takes root. Expanding rapidly, and burning with a curse. This curse causes any injury sustained by the fire to never heal until Absalom is dead. The fire rages without end, until either snuffed out by the force of another noble phantasm, or Absalom himself declares it so.
This noble phantasm is stronger against areas marked by a bounded field. Setting it ablaze, and removing any bonuses that one might get from that area. Removing the advantages an enemy might get from a fortress or a caster's workshop.

So what creates the designated point? You touch something and then the fire emerges from there? I assume the range and targets are for the resulting fire, not actually starting them. It'd be silly otherwise.

Calling it now, assassin team will create a cult.

Mind control aside, though, the guy has 2 NPs. Personally, I do not mind, as without the fire one he seems pretty weak if strategic use of mind control is not employed, but I thought that was a pretty strict rule for non riders?

...Goddammit. How'd I forget that.

Okay, Archer's been added to the character tab and now he has a face.

It actually is. This is why I asked @Reflection to bring it up here since I'm kinda unsure about what to do with Assassin. That's a much less straightforward character than any of the others in the RP so if everyone is ok with giving him a go, I could greenlight him, if not we can still try to strike some balance.

There is no problem with Assassin having two NPs, per se (and I actually like the profile). The mind control can be acceptable if properly monitored during PC interactions. The thing is that there are other Servants that would also deserve a second NP to be on par in that case (Like Zerker and maybe Archer) and then It'd be unfair to deny them the right as well. Not to mention you trample on the Rider Class special NP count.

Out of curiosity, was there not another option submited for an Assassin? Is that a no-go?

@heroic2019
The other one was actually my preferred option between the two ones I saw. Even if it's a Japanese, I don't believe it would be that much of a problem.

As for this one, I suppose that your point of view is right but not necessarily in saying that Archer and Berserker would deserve another NP just because Assassin has two.

On the other hand, Assassin's second Noble Phantasm could be removed since the fire is already his normal attack and being able to use an AoE version is expected of him there's no explicit need for a Noble Phantasm version in this case. I imagine that @Reflection would be alright with it as well.

@Parallel Hearts@heroic2019

I don't have any issues with the sheet as a whole. Regarding multiple Noble Phantasms, I think its conditionally alright for OCs depending on where they're being summoned and who exactly they are. Also the theme and abilities needed to make the character properly 'work'; some can do with more Noble Phantasms, some really don't need more than one.

I am always against adding things purely for the sake of having them and no other reason, however.

This is speaking from the viewpoint of a canon character divorced from that ruling, so I like to think I'm coming from a neutral standpoint on this.

Edit: That compromise seems like a good one, Parallel.

@Parallel Hearts to be honest Absolam is kinda justified for two, since he's related to David and Solomon who both have 3.

But I can remove the fire NP, and focus on the more small scale magic he creates.

Yo! Just got off of work earlier than the usual shift. Which is at least a treat. XD

But i have been looking over Absalom, and i did want to say one something about this in general. Not wanting to sound like i hate Absalom, he's p cool actually, but just to get this potential thing addressed is all this is. Course it is the GM's call in the end, but just wanted to note this to bring up my own immediate worry at least. ^^;

- Spare Absalom, the son of David, My servant EX: All in the kingdom of heaven, man, and demon know there is one man who cannot be harmed. Who when they move to strike, are commanded to by God himself to turn their weapon away. That man is Absalom. This is a skill that acts as the highest form of mental interference. The very words of god. When an enemy servant, master, or anybody prepares to attack Absalom, knowingly or not, the very word of god is sent down upon them. A command not to attack. It is only possible to attack Absalom after he has directly attacked another servant. Telling others to attack does not count as a direct attack. Even then, only the person he has directly engaged with is allowed to attack him.

This skill feels a tad OP with all of its wording and effects, and the rank feels like it kinda makes it stronger than most mental interference protection skills are gonna be at for servants usually. And part of it sounds like a paradox, where someone like a master can tell a servant to attack him but all Absalom has to do is stand there and the servant can't do anything to him because the servant is still making a "direct attack".

Or like, i suppose it seems anyone can't unless he attacks a servant...which isn't the normal standard for Assassins i think?

Umm...hope saying this was ok, and hope you all are having a great night! :)

It's a mental interference skill so it actually can be countered by a Mage's Resistance ability, a Servant's Magic Resistance Skill, or skills that block mental interference, like Bravery, etc. It surely makes him hard to attack, the same way that fighting Diarmuid is supposed to be hard if you are a woman, but it's doable for an opponent of high enough caliber.

Not to say that this skill is useless either but it's not the kind of thing that would save you from a Saber, or Lancer hellbent on killing you for example.

And, even if you absolutely can't find a way to overcome it, there are other ways of dealing with him that don't rely on attacking.

Mind Control is an unreliable technique against magical beings in the Nasuverse. I said this to @Reflection earlier since (while Assassin is perfectly within the parameters of what we've seen in canon, remembering that mind control tends to be an unreliable plot device in nearly all Fate works) relying on mind control as his primary tool is very likely to lead to frustration on either theirs or someone else's side.

This is why I decided to ask whether or not everyone was onboard with it. If it's really not the kind of thing you are interested into playing against, I can always ask @Reflection to use the other Assassin idea since it much less contentious than this one.

It's not worth it having anyone be uncomfortable with this idea when there's another viable alternative.
