Name Aki Fujimoto
Age 15
Personality Aki is outwardly a cheerful person, someone who tries her best to put on a smile and stay optimistic and friendly. She is rather curious and adventurous, fully willing to go out and try new things and meet new people, but is also reckless, which causes her to get into trouble from time to time. Her biggest strength is her determination and stubbornness she is unwilling to give up even when the situation makes it clear that it might be better to throw in the towel.
History Aki was born in Hyacinth city. Her father, Hisashi Fujimoto was a duelist who dreamed of becoming the world champion. Her mother disappeared shortly after her birth and Aki’s aunt took her mother's place as the matriarch of their little family and for a while things were stable. Her father would go out and duel to pay the bills and she and her aunt watch him from the sidelines smiling and cheering as he put on a show. Though that changed when Aki developed a medical rare condition, if not treated regularly, it would be fatal. After that Aki was always in and out of the hospital and her father had stopped trying to put on a show and quickly climbed up the ranks of the pro league to keep up with her medical bills, gaining a controversial reputation of being a ruthless and aggressive duelist. Despite all this, Aki simply tried to smile through the misfortune and try and hold on to the good things in life, she still loved her family and looked up to her father and wanted to be a duelist like him, though in her condition, she wasn’t able to learn to duel.
As time went on, the medical bills piled up and her father’s career started to hit a wall. Since most of the money her father had earned went to expenses, he couldn’t afford to upgrade his deck. He found that couldn’t keep up with the major leagues and his duels kept getting harder and Hisashi had to fight tooth and nail for every victory. He started to feel desperate, he knew that he would someday he would hit that wall and he didn’t want to think about what would occur if he did. He needed more power and this time fortunate seemed to smile upon him. He was given an offer by a mysterious man, who would give him what he needed, he offered to sponsor Hisashi and give him a new deck. It was a deal too good to be true and he didn’t know the man’s motive, but he had no other alternative, he accepted the deal and was given the D/D/D deck.
After this things were looking up for the family. Aki was making a recovery due to being able to afford more newer and more expensive treatments and her father who had become a renowned duelist and was on his way to enter the World Cup. Things seemed to be able to go back to the way they were, before Aki had fallen ill, unfortunately tragedy (Aka a sadistic rper.) seemed to follow them at every turn. Hisashi had gotten into a car accident and passed away. It was sudden and unexpected and nobody knew exactly what had caused the accident. At this news Aki had a breakdown, she believed that she was the cause, that all that fatigue built up due to trying to pay for her treatment finally caught up to her father. She believed that in exchange for her survival, her father’s life was taken instead.
She was moved into the care of her grandmother on her father’s side, it was to create some distance from the pain. They were able to pay for the last of her treatment using her father’s life insurance money, her condition was now fully treated. She could now try and fulfill her dreams, but she didn’t, at least not immediately, but time eventually heals all wounds. Ultimately she gathered the strength to pick up her father’s deck. She decided to follow in her father’s footsteps, to become the best duelist in the world in his memories. To achieve her goal she needed to become stronger and to do that she decided to move back in with her Aunt in Hyacinth city to learn the secrets of Soul Drawing.
To explain why this deck doesn’t have all the most powerful cards of D/D/D, despite being a pro’s deck. Basically those cards didn’t exist when this deck was first constructed. This deck was top of the line when it was first built, but it has not been updated for a while.
Yeah, part of the reason why I made the D/D/D user basically a cinnamon roll is because the contrast was just too amusing to pass up. Though in all seriousness, the idea with what connects the deck and the users, is that unlike Reiji, where he was the boss that lorded over the deck, the users are the contractors, the ones who signed the Dark Contract. They are on the bottom of the rung, with the ambition to try and climb to the top.
