He prefers loose clothing for both comfort and as an easy way to take advantage of his slender fram to conceal armor and weapons underneath. His eyes appear to shift color according to mood, between hazel (with a slightly reddish tint), a greyish color, and blue-green. He’s got a rather dangerous profession, so he’s always suited up for the day when he either has to fight to save himself or move out on short notice. Too bad he’s had to do both at once.

Tomahawk – The non-bladed side has a point can be used as a hammer. Has a hole at one end for easy carrying, among other things. Dagger – Has an oversized pommel that lets it be quickly tied to sticks to form a spear. Weighted-knuckle gloves – These fingerless gloves were as cheap as they are effective. Great for any family-friendly setting. A Mighty Sword with No Name – This perfectly made katana was made by the very best smiths, back in the days when Creation consisted of more than a single gods-forsaken island. A supremely sharp sword, it has an immaculately forged blade that Sasuke swears on. The blade is slightly shorter on average to improve speed, but it has been reinforced to solidify its strength. It has incredible balance and features a tailor-made grip for him to aid in quick slashes. It was Sasuke’s reward from House Tepet for his actions during the Scarlet War. The sword bears an intricately carved crest of House Tepet on the pommel, and its major symbols are incorporated into the handguard. Carved onto the blade are his full name on one side and the reason for its ownership on the other (“courage and bravery during the Siege”). The sheath is covered in an exquisite rendering of a huge wooden dragon. The sword is priceless by most standards, not that Sasuke ever intends to sell it. In addition to being fancy and dealing a ton of damage, it acts as proof of his patrician status. Attributes: Speed +5 (-1), Accuracy +1, Damage 6L (+2), Defense +0, Rate 3 (+1)

Basic Breastplate – Made by a local smith, Sasuke traded some spare weapons for it. It fits him well, and easily hides under clothing. Good for stopping knives and arrows from would-be murderers. Soak 4L/2B, Mobility -1, Fatigue +1 Leather Armor – Reinforced with bits of metal, they give easy protection, repair and concealment. Self-made, but only gives protection against glancing blows from anything bigger than knives.

Travelling kit – It consists of a small collapsible cooking pot, utensils, a fire striker, and enough rations to last for about three or four days. Rope & Hook – A compact rope and grappling hook. Sasuke never leaves home without them. Scrip – Exactly 3 quian in scrip. It was meant for a transaction that failed thanks to the attack. Notebook & Pen – He carries a small notebook with him at all times that contains reflections, quotes, and other bits for reference. Includes further (written) proof that he is a patrician of House Tepet. A dead horse – Now already a few miles behind him, it died of wounds it received during the attack and their subsequent escape from the Ruins. It’s excellent for beating repeatedly.

Sasuke has a deep-rooted pride in himself as someone able to retain his sanity in the face of the worst that life has to offer. He firmly thinks that an individual is mostly a product of their own actions first and their own circumstances second. He does what he can with the cards he’s been dealt, and does what he can to prevent himself from becoming yet another victim of betrayal. Only after he’s done will he bother thinking about the concept of faith. That, and he holds a deep-seated belief that the gods are either sadistic or they simply don’t give a crap. Sasuke has a very short but very strict code of honor. The first is “do no harm unless necessary.” In those cases where it is, the word “overkill” is no longer part of his vocabulary. Next, he endeavors to return all favors done to him by others – good or evil. Keeping to his word and upholding his loyalty to what he calls “his own” forms the rest of his set of rules. As for loyalty, he doesn't give it lightly, just as he doesn't expect to receive it from others free of charge. Even if their name is God, he won't bow to their wishes without a good reason.

Born to a well-to-do family living in a fortified town in the faraway Coral Islands, Sasuke spent his early childhood in a watchful peace. Emboldened by world-wide chaos and destruction caused by the Scarlet War, the Lintha made daring raids on ever-stronger towns, and Sasuke’s hometown was next. For ten-year-old Sasuke, everything passed in a blur. One moment he was sleeping contentedly, the next he was being press-ganged into their crew as they destroyed everything he knew in this world. The boy was forced to wait nearly five years for his chance at liberation. During a raid on a coastal town on the Blessed Isle, he and a number of prisoners had been ordered to gather water under the supervision of their lone taskmaster. Seeing their chance, the captives decided to revolt while the revolting was good. Escaping the ensuing battle, 15-year-old Sasuke ran off to freedom with only a bit of scrip and some weapons from his captor’s corpse. It wasn’t long before he fell in with a small, battle-hardened mercenary group called the Stormcrows. He was in the group for two years and saw more than his fair share of action during the closing phases of the Scarlet War. The Stormcrows’ most legendary mission came during the final siege on the Imperial Manse. House Tepet was in the middle of the final siege and assault on the Imperial Ruins and against the Scarlet Empress. They had sent in part of the Red Piss Legion on a suicide mission to serve as a diversionary attack on the Imperial Manse’s western wall. It was this exact moment when the Stormcrows chose to help its captain pay off a long-standing debt of honor by lending an assist, in the form of a massive payload of sixty shoulder-mounted Essence Cannons (Small sized), distributed among the twenty-strong force on horseback. Through sheer stealth and skill, they smuggled their payload all the way to the Red Piss forces. They were discovered while they were still handing out the weapons, rendering any chance of a clean escape impossible. Instead of running, the company resolved to join the attack and take their chances with the fates. It turned out that not only did the suicide attack complete its mission, but the Legionnaires actually did so much damage to the wall and its defenders that part of the strike force survived. The attack was pivotal to the siege efforts on the Imperial Manse, but Sasuke was the only Stormcrow who managed to survive the entire battle. The Stormcrows’ efforts were not forgotten: in the celebrations that followed the battle, Sasuke was awarded the title of a patrician of the House Tepet, with the right to create his own house name – something nearly unheard of for a civilian commoner. He took the name of Stormwind after his home town, and in honor of his erstwhile band of brothers. As further proof beyond paper of this honor, Sasuke was given a sword the likes of which he’d never seen before or since. He carried it with him to this day. After the battle, he moved into the Imperial Ruins and took up residence in an abandoned estate. Making that his base, he turned to arms dealing once again to keep up a modest lifestyle. He even managed to find an affordable swordmaster in the city in subsequent years to learn from until the attack on the Ruins. The attack on the Imperial Ruins thankfully came when he was on an arms run on the inland side of the city, away from his (mostly ruined) estate. Thankfully, Sasuke was prepared as usual for an attack of some sort, or he’d be dead. The only thing he managed to take out of the city was the scrip he had brought with him to pay for new stock to deliver. Unfortunately, even his horse did not survive long after his escape: it took a poisoned arrow to its flank, and died shortly after delivering its master to relatively safety. Alone and in yet another gods-forsaken wilderness, Sasuke has made a point to get the hell out of there before he gets even more unsavory company. He’s had enough of the undead to last five lifetimes already, and he’s not the sort who wants a taste of more. After all, it’s yet another reminder that the gods are either sadistic or don’t really give a crap.
I will not bow!
