The war had taken a somewhat fortuitous turn of events for the uninvolved Councilate of Arbasses, their concerns regarding Terheridon and their backing of the former Bennipolian idiot Atthenakles had been solved by the winds of fate. A man who’d ruined the economy of the world and brought about a cacophony of slaughter to the land had thrown himself on his own sword, the kind of death the man deserved. But Marcus now had a letter from his friend Emperor Walhart III to consider and what actions he would take regarding it.

It seems the winds of fate have turned in our favour, in case you have not heard the good news Atthenakles has thrown himself on his own sword. As such your concerns about Terheridon’s warmongering no longer exist but there are worrying rumours of mass military movements from the north, seemingly converging on the now unprotected heartland of our buffer state. 

I shall still contact Terheridon about joining the Commerce League, our defensive pact would drive off any possible invaders and we can suitably profit from the circumstances of this war. Whilst public damnation is just it will do naught but add to the fires of the war. We must proceed carefully to avoid causing an all out war. As such I will move significant military forces to the New World under secrecy in order to apply pressure on their colonies and hopefully dissuade them from such a war. I’m informed my new war fleet will be ready by the time the departing ships reach the colonies so the ports of Stendmark will be safe. If war comes to it, I can seize the new world colonies of Kamalao and then bring my fleet back and dissuade their home fleets from any action.

I urge the nations of the Commerce League to begin military preparations in light of the recent events that have occurred. Whilst I do not wish to bring war to our lands I fear we must attempt to protect the sovereignty of Terheridon as it is the buffer state between us and the nations of the south who seek our demise. Prepare your soldiers, tighten your borders and be ready to stand with us should it come so.

He then set about signing a number of orders, requisitions and warrants. 25,000 Men were moved to cover the Southern boundaires, keeping a keen eye on the borders in light on recent world tension. One thing was for sure, this war would not spill over into Arbasses, at least not if Marcus could do anything about it.
