[color=FFD700]A loved and happy-go-lucky child, Felix has changed in recent months. His upbringing lead to a worldly curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. He was a confident but polite boy able to charm many and older witch with a smile and dimples. His education in England also provided a chance for him to let go and experience getting lost in the Scottish Highlands, finding many underground London bars and waking up in the bed of many a random guy. 

This more carefree side became a persona Felix loved and led to his current situation. However, the darkness from his parents’ deaths and the unsaid implications grip his gut and lurk in the shadows of his mind. The trusting open book from before has gone and the quest to discover the truth behind his coven is consuming. He’s no longer the happy carefree Felix inside, but you’d never notice because, whilst never the best at illusion spells, he never lets his facade down. [/color]

[color=FFD700]Born to Marie and Christopher Belleville, Felix was sent to Europe at an early age as tradition dictated. He was sent to England, as his father was, learning many hedge witch magicks and gaining real insight into inter-coven politics. As a Belleville he was expected to study finance or biochemistry to ultimately work home in Baton Rouge and protect the archives, but Felix had other ideas after travelling all around the UK. Studying anthropology and geography m to feed his passion for travel, he had his heart set on becoming a seeker, not an archivist. What could be better than travelling the world in search of knowledge? 

Coming out as gay was never an issue in the witch community but against his mother’s wishes, Felix began a tour of Europe post-university. The rift was only healed when his father brokered an agreement that Felix could start seeking if only he returned to England to complete his teacher training to give him a profession he could travel with. Felix did so with enthusiasm and has relished the last 5 years travelling the globe and assisting his mother and father with their own pet projects as well as his own seeking. Yet that all came to a halt 6 months ago. 

Both planes carrying his parents on their way to visit him disappeared into the ocean. This caused Felix to breakdown and retreat into his family home back in BR. It was there, sorting through his parents’ extensive collection that he discovered the truth behind his mother’s research. Certain elements within the coven had been using her research into combining biothaumaturgy and modern science to experiment in creating chimera and homunculi. Appalled at the revelation, his parents were on their way to Switzerland to petition the All Mother, when the tragedy struck. Felix’s initial suspicion had been directed at either vampires, werewolves or more likely hunters, but suddenly he found himself no longer able to trust his own coven.

His suspicions were all but confirmed when he was ‘promoted’ to lead his own archivist mission to chronicle the history of an unknown town in Carolina. So now he finds himself as a High School geography teacher and secret warlock in Ember Grove. [/color]

[b][u]History: [/u][/b][color=FAEBD7]Originally from Western Europe, the Enlightened Coven have always been at odds with other covens for their progressive approach to survival. With a matrilineal ability of clairvoyance As with many other covens, the extended Éclairé family had an extended network across the known ‘Western World’ from the 14th Century onwards, however, rather than adopt secrecy and seclusion, they used their estate and position to hide in plain sight. From Japan to India, Siberia to the Congo, Scandinavia to the Middle East the family used crusades, colonialism and exploration to their advantage in their endless thirst for knowledge to create an enviable collection of magicks that soon became host to other travelling witches and warlocks. 

They then embraced their namesake, riding the waves of the Age Enlightenment with a view of progress. However, the tide of politics was against them and whilst many covens fell under the radar of revolution, their’s did not. Few of the Éclairés or their library and collection survived by the turn of the 19th Century. Yet one arm of the family existed having settled in La Nouvelle-Orléans to manage the coven’s interest in the New World. 

The family continued their work into collating magickal knowledge from around the New World but also had the new missions of ensuring the continuation of their coven and restoration of their lost archives. Under a variety of new surnames, the family survived their second revolution, secretly supported the underground railroad and moved to Baton Rouge when it became state capital to escape the sinful association of New Orleans. Their clairvoyance, although now rarer, helped throughout the centuries in continuing to build wealth and safe houses across the globe. 

Now in the 21st Century, they have a strong presence across the southern states, the Caribbean and Eastern Canada. Whilst not one of the oldest, largest, most influential or powerful covens, Le Coven Éclairé is respected by many of their peers due to their extensive knowledge, record keeping and re-established archive. The family send their young witches and warlocks to grow up and study in Europe, fostering them with other covens in return for access to their archives and magicks. 

Much of the coven now consists of qualified academics completely ingratiated into human life, enabling them to travel the globe unquestioned and provide access to otherwise hidden, forbidden or restricted collections in their continued search for both new and old magicks. Whilst ambitious for knowledge the coven has very strict regulations on experimental and dark magicks with a zero-tolerance ex-communication stance for any studies unsanctioned by the matriarchy.[/color]
